I think it's a good idea to remove the seats. I would totally do the same thing. Storage vs weight is so worth it. I wonder if leaving the roof would be better so you have insulation from the heat beating on the roof. May keep you cooler? Just a thought.

looks like you need cowl weatherstrip there so rain doesnt run under the hood
