Arko is the affordability king when it comes to shaving soaps. It is cheaper than the canned stuff but vastly superior though beware the strong scent. Highly recommended anyone try it paired with a reasonable (~$15 CAD) synthetic brush. As an aside I find until you get to the super high end brushes boar and especially synthetic are much better. The lather works up easier and it's more comfortable applying it. My personal recommendation for people looking for a beginner friendly shaving soap is Stirling Soaps because they have affordable sample sizes that can last you a month or more for $4.50 CAD. They come unscented but my two must try scents for those that enjoy scents are Shadow Orchid and Witchy Woman. EDIT: Forgot to mention as well Derby has various scents with a tube cream that you lather and Proraso White come as a tube cream as well. Both are affordable and the Proraso White is fairly gentle on sensitive skin for those on HRT dealing with sensitivity issues that they may not have had before.
Neat! I'm a trans guy, not your target audience, but I learned a lot of good information here. Kudos.
Great information for all genders

Thanks, that helps a lot.

I love how this video was uploaded on the same day I came out as transgender.
