I suspect you don't burn hot enough, I've been burning wood for 20+ years and have never had that much buildup even if I dont clean it for two years. If you glass door gets black you need to burn hotter. Good luck
Yep, that was my problem. I know if I do burn hot I get way less buildup on my glass. Also, if I have sooty buildup on the glass, it burns off when I burn the stove hotter. There is a bit of a learning curve. ha ha You have much experience with this model?
just a basic quick question. if you wanted to run it through the top would you have to use that cast "collor" or adapter thats on the back on the top as well? i would think so, just double checking. i got this model handed down to me and the top is just open....i dont think i can put single wall rite into it without the adapter or else it will be wobbly
Thanks for the comment! In the cooler months (Oct.- Mar.) the stove burns around the clock. I try to check it mid burn season and clean out the pipe if I see significant buildup. I enjoy the process and it's good to know how the system is holding up for safety reasons. Good luck!
