@@nutli839 Well, time has proven that his analysis is less than accurate. Hence how could one trust him to make any economic projections? I certainly would not. He did not have full facts when he analyzed this case and this hinders his credibility severely.
Quite a bit of misinformation in this analysis - one must understand that many of the so called "his fans" stirring up trouble have always been cp fans and the leading cp fans actually work for the infamous company YH. Also, many of "his fans" are disguised fans or paid to work for his competitors. With this in mind, this is clearly a case of a plot to jeopardize fair market competition which amounts to a very serious legal issue had it happened elsewhere.
Spoken like a fan. This material is not an analysis of the fan community, and I suspect that the author, like most normal people, doesn't see the difference between solo and CP fans, and that's the main problem continuing to this day. CP fans are a niche who say they like the actor, but actually like their fantasies about his romance. These people do not support the actor, only their fantasies. They may even believe they support the actor, but they only do so when the actor intentionally or accidentally fits into their fantasies. If an actor like XZ refuses to play with CP fans, they become envious because they believe the actor is deceiving them, that he is denying the truth. CP fans shout that they love him and are often louder than the actor's fans, but they sabotage anything that doesn't involve their CP faith. It's just that normal passersby have no way to distinguish one from the other, so they consider everyone a fan of the actor.
@@shinaxia7474 True, and this kind of cp mentality and net attitude leave room for whoever plotted 227 to play with. As for this author, in many ways he represents the final struggle of 227, as much as he would like to portray himself as a rational analyst, his facts are much less than exhaustive and his reasoning could not sustain any further probing

I have other perspectives too on the popularity of him and Yibo… what ever happens, I feel both Yibo and Xiao Zhan have earned their places not only in the Chinese entertainment industry , but , as a “ name card “ to go beyond China , they have and will continue to play their parts as being “ iconic “. Let’s check on them in 10 years , I believe they will stay and not 糊掉:) keep up your good work .. and thank you 🙏

This video is nightmarishly long, especially for someone who doesn't know Chinese and has to read the little subtitles, but it was worth watching. Very interesting analysis. I might disagree with a few points, but I agree with most. A reflection on the 227. the whole incident that was aimed at XZ hit a ricochet and collapsed the whole fan club system in China. Angry youngsters wanted to destroy someone they don't like and blamed XZ fans for all the fan club crimes, it's just that people on the sidelines, passersby if you will, are not blind and noticed that all houses have the same dirt. The 227 was one big hypocrisy on the part of the fan clubs attacking XZ, and that was noticed. People were outraged not at Xiao Zhan and his fans, but at the entire fan community. Yes, the XZ was beaten in public, but already in 2021 idols began to imitate the XZ and pass on to their fans what he passed on to his fans in July 2020. 227 was the biggest shot in the knee that the fan clubs of other stars could have taken, and now everyone is collectively suffering because there are no rankings, no votes, and their idols do not receive the title of most popular this or that. Congratulations!
Out of curiosity ... I assume you are not in China and do not understand Chinese. How did you know about the 227 drama so well? And I thought that 227 affected only idols and fans in China...
@@xinyizhang8776 I'm not from China, I'm not Chinese, I'm Polish. I've been watching c-drama since 2018, but I'm not a fan of any actor. I liked a few and Xiao Zhan was one of them. Our Song won my heart and I watched new episodes on YT every week, although there was no translation. Xiao Zhan has tons of fans around the world and is actually the most popular Chinese next to Jackie Chan. Of course, The Untamed, but not only that. All his dramas are loved and available on YT. I found out about 227 two hours after the apology was posted by XZ Studio. One YT channel gave a translation and tried to explain what was going on. This whole situation was absurd. I couldn't believe that the entire internet suddenly went crazy, because apart from China, also a lot of paid accounts were destroying XZ's reputation on YT, TW, FB, IG. So I watched it from the beginning and saw the fans of XZ being beaten. I myself have been attacked many times only because I tried to convince people that this violence did not make sense and that it would turn against them. Because, firstly, this novel offended all morality and violated the rights of XZ and WYB as a human being, and secondly, AO3 worked, only at that time it moved to another server and users could log in to their accounts, they only had to use a different address. AO3's temporary shutdown was planned and an English announcement was on AO3 as early as December 2019, only of course Chinese children do not read English-language announcements from the administrator. So already on March 4 it was known that all this hatred was unfounded, and yet it was constantly fueled. This was not the usual anger of the children, because that would burn out after a few days, and in fact many aggressors retreated after their anger was over, but the remaining professional black accounts that logged in during working hours, provoked war, always used the same pointless arguments. People really like Xiao Zhan all over the world and consider him the showcase of China. Many people went to China, especially to Qongqing, to see the country that XZ sings so beautifully, and if it weren't for the pandemic, China's tourism would flourish at this point thanks to XZ fans. Stores outside of China began bringing in goods advertised by XZ (especially in Canada), and many American fans flooded Netfliks with requests for XZ drama. I know The Untamed was on Netflix. Luxury brands such as GUCCI, Zenith, Tod's boast about cooperation with XZ on Western platforms. As strange as it sounds, many people have started to look more favorably on China because it was China that gave birth to and shaped Xiao Zhan. If someone as good as Xiao Zhan loves his country, this country can't be bad, right? All in all, lots of people around the world support Xiao Zhan. Each of his drama is widely discussed on Western social media and the platforms that share his drama always earn a lot of money, because each of his drama is a global hit. XZ is simply a great young gentleman who embodies the classic Chinese beauty and charms us like a prince on a white horse. Not only in China, Xiao Zhan's fans cried during 227. As XZ is China's best showcase in the world, 227 was China's worst showcase. When China boycotted XZ, the world boycotted c-ent. Only after the premiere of The Wolf, fans allowed themselves to watch something more. XZ is simply the most influential Chinese artist outside of China and one of the most influential in the world. Fans in many countries are still organizing charity events in the footsteps of Chinese Xiao Fei Xia.
@@shinaxia7474 wow that's very interesting story from another point of view. Thank you for the explanation. However, there's one thing about AO3, I'm pretty sure it is banned in China mainland. The same way RUclips is, you can't access to the website unless you use a foreign VPN. And at same time imagine that when you open social media and see XZ's fans saying how lovely their idol is. I can understand that was outrageous for someone, and because they could do nothing about it they went attacking the idol because of the hate towards part of his fans.... there were hate from both sides and because people are hiding behind the 'Fans' the whole group took the blame. Unfortunately you can't reverse a bad image by simply saying that not all from the group are bad.
@@xinyizhang8776 If you're comparing AO3 to YT, then either before 227 AO3 was officially inaccessible and users used some workarounds, or this whole incident brought the site to the attention of the authorities. In March 2020, I saw reports of Mainland China people who, out of curiosity, went to AO3 (meaning there was access to the site, although I don't know if through a VPN or normally) and analyzed the content of the site. Most of the texts (I won't give a % because I can't remember) were pornography, hardcore erotica involving minors, non-consent and more edgy numbers. While fanfics involving fictional characters may be distasteful but people turn a blind eye to it, if you use real people and describe how they have kinky sex, it's a bit... unsavory. Someone who defended such "freedom of speech" told me at the time: "AO3 is like a pornhub, you don't want it, don't watch it" so I asked if that person would be happy if someone put her, or her mother, or her sister on such a site. As you can guess, I didn't get an answer. The fact is that at the end of February AO3 was temporarily unavailable due to the transfer of content to another server. The fact is that at the beginning of March, Chinese people from Mainland China were able to access AO3, as they were shown accessing the site. I understand that XZ fans were and probably are annoying, I'm sick of them myself and don't consider myself a fan although I like XZ, but not being able to access an illegal porn site shouldn't cause such mass aggression. What these people did was simply appalling. The enormity of mindlessness, hatred and blind retaliation. No one checked what really happened or why, everyone started hating and hurting the innocent actor. XZ fans were arrogant, agree, annoying, of course yes, but other groups of fans were not innocent either, and no one shouted that their idol must pay for their faults. The editor-in-chief of the Prosecutor Daily did a journalistic investigation proving that XZ fans did not report AO3, but he was quickly silenced and his Weibo account closed. In my opinion, XZ flopped because someone wanted to destroy him before he become more popular, exploited the technical issues on AO3 and put all the blame on XZ fans. The angry, pandemic-scared crowd mindlessly started destroying everything. Most normal people came to their senses within a few days. When I talked to them, it was clear that they were frustrated, helpless and looking for someone to blame, but eventually their anger passed. There were, however, accounts (some of whom have already gone to court and suffered punishment) that were deliberately scrambling and making things up to destroy XZ and his fans completely. These accounts attacked anyone who dared to ask for reason. I understand that you can dislike someone, but how can you participate in mass violence knowing that the victim is innocent? If the idol was supposed to be in charge of his fans, where were the idols of the fans who abused Xiao Zhan? Were they not equally or even more disqualified? But no other idol paid for the behavior of fans, for this unprecedented violence against XZ and his fans. Is this what justice in the c-ent looks like? I have never used aggression online, but I was insulted just for standing up for Xiao Zhan. Do you mean to say that the people who attacked me had the right to do so because they believed that some arrogant XZ fan caused shut down access to an illegal pornographic site? If these people applied collective responsibility, why didn't they themselves follow the law they imposed and they, along with their idols, suffered the consequences? Why everyone pointed out that people were buying Guang Dian, and no one saw that fans of other idols were fundraising en masse to break the record for the fastest-selling song? Because when everyone took XZ and his fans under the microscope, the others could feel impunity. Believe me, I've seen more than one disgusting filth that had nothing to do with XZ and his fans, but someone wanting to distract attention from his own scandal dragged XZ into everything. His fans were afraid to open their mouths lest their words be twisted and used against him and some fan clubs specialized in exactly that. After all, public enemy number one is there to blame for everything. By the way, it's not just China that doesn't have access to certain sites or channels on YT. But somehow no one thinks that fans of an idol are to blame and they don't attack him for that. That would just be ridiculous.

Yes, he is.

Complete agree!
