      @James Darmor giannis is damn near 7 feet and can dribble I'm pretty sure iverson would've been a goat at 6'5

      @James Darmor He's not going to lose that crazy agility, except for with age. It's AI, but taller. He'll look like Richard Hamilton out there and more finishes above the rim. Even longer strides than he had won't make him less agile.

    • @harsewaksaini475
      @harsewaksaini475 5 лет назад +14

      @James Darmor it's simple math really. The loss in agility and speed that would come with the increased height would easily be shadowed by how much easier it would be to score for him and how much better he'd be on D

    • @777Kakarot
      @777Kakarot 5 лет назад +3

      @James Darmor actually depends on if he would put in the effort to be in shape and work on his agility and increase his speed you're clearly out of shape irl

    Kyrie is an amazing player with superstar skills but Iverson was on a completely different level. I don't see Kyrie or any point guard ever doing what Iverson did in 2001 where he, at barely 6'0 and 170 pounds, led a garbage team all the way to the finals and still find a way to win at least one game.
    Iverson was a 4x scoring champion. The only guy under 6'1 to have over 20,000 career points. Won league MVP over guys like O'Neal, Duncan, Kobe, Garnett all in their prime. That's not a knock against Kyrie or any other point guard. Iverson was just special.

      @bojo perez kyrie can never be mvp or a scoring champ max is right kyrie is just a great iso shooter thats it

    • @cycleoflife565
      @cycleoflife565 5 лет назад +6

      @@lomoney4008 Kyrie's problem is that he pounds the ball incessantly, running time off of the clock until he makes his move. He seems to often be on the court by himself, in his mind, until he reaches a point where he has no choice but to dump it off to his teammates with little time left take a decent shot. At the same time he makes some amazing shots at the rim against multiple defenders, so he's is at least entertaining.

      @adam brown debating about AI is hard, either you think he is god tier, like the original comment by Kyza Sose, or they're like you, who downplay how good AI actually was. Pure offense skill wise, he might be one of the best ever. His impact is highly dampened by his height though, he was not even 6 ft, and he had a bad attitude, never got better. He can never be mentioned with the GOATs because of that. A 6'6" Iverson would probably son almost anyone.

AI had 1 playoff team in his 1st 3 years in a lockout season in which the team went 22-28. AI didnt have a decent record until his 4th year and his 5th was when they went to the Finals, at the age of 25. Kyrie is more skilled than AI.

    When you consider strictly skill set, forget team accomplishments etc. When you consider the disadvantages Iverson faced when all defenders were taller and stronger (Iverson 6'0 165lbs) and the fact he had no one else to rely on, a very good argument can be made that Iverson is one of the greatest basketball players of all time! Now he has no rings so he will not be mentioned with Jordan and Kobe etc, but looking at strictly skill set, Iverson is as good as any other basketball player to have ever played. If you never got to see that man play, youtube him and sit back and enjoy!

Kobe could not guard him and kobe is one of the most toughest defenders of all time. AI was getting triple teamed by ppl all over 6'5 and he's 5'11 I don't even see kyrie getting doubled ever unless he's crazy hot. The small stature or the start to stop quickness. There was something relatable yet other worldly about him. He took a group of team mates that had no business in the playoffs let alone to the finals and took a game from Kobe and Shaq's lakers!! If you put AI in those days with a decent team or a for real number two then he might have won a finals or got there alot, Iverson was special to watch he was a lil dude but thought he was ten feet tall with just pure guts, heart & no fear!!

      kyrie is showing this year he may perhaps the best guard to ever play the game. His command of the dribble tp get anywhere he wants against whomever checks him is very kobeish. Kyrie has built his body up and is hard to knock iff his spot. AI could be moved and certainly didnt have a postgame like kyrie. kyrie has a jumper that is deadly off the dribble and standing still. AI worked hard to get buckets while Kyrie has a rounded game and uses intellect and assessing the game to get easier buckets with less energy. Both have that dog in them. I do believe kyrie is a better playmaker than AI as well simply watch his team USA highlights. He was the best by far on thr offensivr side plsying 1 on 5 against the best NBA talent in the world. kyrie can articulate himself like a statesman. Certainly not your typical athlete interview hes introspective, exposed. a delight to litsen and watch. Only 25 years old with a chip.

      Yes because Kyrie has two All Stars on his team, one of them is a top 4 player of all time. It is easier for Kyrie when the defense has to focus on those guys too. AI was pretty much the only one that could score by himself on this Sixers team.
      AI is a bit inefficient? Yes, but put Kyrie on this Sixers team and see how the numbers get worse...

    • @nostalgicbliss5547
      @nostalgicbliss5547 7 лет назад +19

      Kyrie is also playing in an era where the big-man can't camp in the paint like in the past. Plus you can't hand-check or be as physical on defense.
      Go look at Iverson's efficiency when he played with Melo in Denver in like 06-08. He was still scoring over 26 points on pretty good efficiency at like 31-32 years old.
      If prime Iverson played in this era, he'd still average 28 + on better efficiency, especially if he had great offensive talents on his team to take some of the pressure of.
      The only thing you can objectively give Kyrie over Iverson is that he is a much better three-point shooter. Everything else I would give to Iverson, including handles.
      Kyrie might be more flashy, but Iverson could get to anywhere he wanted on the court at any-time. Iverson was also more athletic than Kyrie, plus he had a higher motor.
      Kyrie's finishing is pretty incredible, especially with his off-hand, but Iverson was also a beast at finishing difficult shots in the painted area.

    • @suryap4527
      @suryap4527 7 лет назад +2

      Nostalgic Bliss Iverson isn't close to irvings efficiency, and u say big man camp down there acting like the 3 second rule is a new rule. Kyrie is a better shooter, finisher, ball handler by large margins. AI happened to play in a weaker era where there wasn't much talent. AI also didn't win anything when he was on a good team in denver

    Can Kyrie:
    Cross MJ
    Average 24ppg in rookie season
    average 33ppg at 30
    Carry a trash team to the finals in the hardest era of basketball.
    Be 6'0" 155 and dominate.
    Kyrie is a legend but A.I is pure gold.

      steals are not a measure of good defense in fact most of them are by guards who are terrible defenders who just roam around because they can't guard their own position and occasionaly pick off a pass

      Um Yeah Javale McGee is a perfect example. Horrible rim protector but really good shot blocker. Can't guard the pick and roll and gets dominated by strong players but gets a lot of blocks.

      Ultimate gamer assassin yea but on offense Irving can depend on other people to take the shooting load while Iverson just couldn't. The whole team was centered around Iverson which is why he took the most shots, missed a lot and made a lot. When you have other good scorers like Irving than ofc the shooting percentage is gonna be better because he isn't shooting on every offensive possession like iverson had to.

    Iverson had the ability to embarrass a player like no one else. Kyrie is ok. Imagine Russel Westbrook toughness and speed with kyrie handles and an unguardable crossover. Remember they made AI change his dribble saying it was a carry. When rules are examined or changed because of a player, they are special.

      Well ur wrong ! What skill u talking about ? Be specific and I'll prove u wrong. Handles with cross over iverson , taking in the paint vs big trees back then where u could actually get hit and not get a foul , speed , steals all of this goes to the goat of little man Allen Iverson !! Irvning is just better at shooting 3s that's all everything else goes to GOAT OF LITTLE MAN IVERSON ! I watched him at gorge town and his whole career !

    Hand checking riles were revamped in 2004 so A.I played most of his career with rules that had the odds stacked against him. He wasnt allowed to just March to the basket. Iverson is 2nd in playoff pts per game with 29.7 only bested by MJ. Basketball is a 2 way game offense and defense. A.I led the league 3 yrs in steals. Not bc he was a good on ball defender but bc he picked pass lanes. He read plays and predicted flow. He was better offensive, defensive and mental. No question just THE ANSWER!!!! #3 Straight Killer!!!!

      He didn't just "play" the passing lanes, was like an NFL corner. You couldn't even attempt a pass in his direction because he was taking it back the other way for a bucket. Do u know how disruptive that is to a team's offense?

    • @BG-fh5me
      @BG-fh5me 6 лет назад

      have you ever played basketball? playing the lanes gets you 2 steals a game big whoop. playing defense is straight up guarding a man which AI couldn't do BC of size. I don't even see the reason for playing the passing lanes. you get maybe 1 or 2 steals which doesn't show real d
