For me it's a toughie between: "No, I did not thank the dirt for bringing us a brain dead bear." Or "We just howl at the moon now, and have F***ING orgies..." As my favourite line...
Also I hope Ali comes back she brings an interesting dynamic I think by being the lucky girl and also feeling lefted out of the group considering the girls never really liked her that much as we've seen.
I feel like some ppl are bit too critical of Jackie and Shauna here. They were both just so pissed. I highly doubt they meant all the stuff they said here. Ppl say things they don’t mean out of anger. And what sucks is that in normal circumstances, Jackie wanting space from Shauna is perfectly reasonable.
While I was shocked and saddened to see Jackie die, I think a lot of people are missing the point of this scene. We, the viewer, are watching the show from a social perspective with social laws and cues. So, we closely resonate with Jackie who is a direct product of the social hierarchy. However, social laws and expectations don’t do much in the wilderness. Literally. And we see that with Jackie being unable to pull her weight, complaining a majority of the time, being tone deaf to the same situation they all were in, and burning bridges with a lot of the girls. In a social setting, I would largely be on Jackie’s side for things that other people have mentioned - such as her sleeping with Travis, yelling at the girls regarding what happened at Doomscoming, being angry that Shauna slept with Jeff, etc. But as Shauna pointed out, Jackie is extremely self-absorbed and does not recognize the negative impact her being unable to pull her weight, complaining, and sleeping with Travis has had on how the team views her. In the team’s eyes, Jackie has done absolutely nothing but complain and berate them for everything they’ve done to survive and mooch off the benefits without doing any work. Whether or not you like Jackie’s character, you have to admit it’s incredibly stupid to burn bridges with everyone and then be confused when nobody offers you support even if you’re in the right. Let’s not forget that Jackie left Van to die in the plane, slept with the guy she knew Nat was hanging out with, and also told Shauna to go outside first because she wanted space. It was a tragedy what happened to Jackie, but frankly I’m glad she got a peaceful death out of everything that could’ve occurred. I feel like this scene just solidifies the fact that social constructs really are just things we make up no matter how real they seem, and outside of society those constructs simply don’t survive.
Great analysis! And yeah, given how many bridges she burned in the wilderness, she was lucky she had a peaceful death, bc even if she didn't die, she would probably still be the first one to be eaten the moment food was gone.
@@holychaos5398the difference was that she wasn't pulling her weight, and in the end didn't develop any useful skills so the others resented carrying her burdens
@@brooklynbaby05i dont think they were trying to justify that disgusting and awful behavior Shauna is definitely guilty of, but I think a big point of this show is to subtly expand peoples perception of Women by developing very complex and flawed characters. Its like how I think it was Carl Yung (i might be wrong though) defined Anima and Animus and how developing it can lead to more complex and realistic understanding of peoples actual character along with being able to better identify with yourself. Anyway he said the Female has the Animus which is the unconcious masculine and the stages of developing it are like 1. Athlete 2. Professor I cant remember 3 & 4 but you see? Male have Anima and the first stage is like Poet or Artist. Notice how males tend to be sensitive. Anyway yea I still like Shauna more, Jackie wouldn't even sleep with Jeff and no that's no justification it just all so ironic. Ultimately to me it feels like Shauna and Jackie are aspects of the same character or psyche with Jackie representing Ego and Shauna the ID
@ Jackie ain’t force Shauna to do anything she didn’t want to do, it was clear Shauna was insecure which was the whole reason she slept with Jeff in the first place. Even after finding out, Jackie was hurt and didn’t come after Shauna. She more so just spiraled into her depression and gave up once she realized the love she had for her boyfriend and her best friend, meant nothing. The brunt of what happened between them, happened before the plane crash and it only brought those issues to life, what I will say is both of them were immature as teens are, and Jackie’s own immaturity played a part in her death
They kick her out of the cabin, she falls asleep on the ground, it snows, frozen to death by morning. You can watch the scene just type “Yellowjackets Jackie death”
This scene is so sad. Reminded me just how young these girls still were.

ugh this scene is so brutal
how they gonna kick her out when the other girl was clearly in the wrong😅

Shauna was such a bad friend to Jackie 😭
Jackie wasn't that much better, though. She was a self-centered and controlling brat and, frankly, she deserved to be called out.
