This series is so touching, heartwarming and cute. I cried so much in the last few episodes. Outstanding chemistry between them. They don't need a lot of kissing scene or nc scenes because they can just act really well. Hope they'll act together again. 😍😍😍

How can a person who has ever known love not cry for their happiness every time he/she watches this? It's been really well acted by all. I suspect the actors don't want to get typecast, so if there is ia season 3, it ought to involve Shu and Asuka, with perhaps, Shin and Minato-san making cameo appearances for a New Year's party, or something like that. It would be nice to see how Shin and Minato-san move on and are accepted (or not) as a couple in a relatively small fishing town, but I guess that's too much to hope for. Just like Shin and Minato-san, Asuka and Shu are so different and complement each other to help the other overcome his weaknesses and make a strong partnership. They could support a story of their own.
What made this special, despite it taking so-o-o-o-o long for Minato-san to realize it is OK for him to love Shin, was that it dealt with intelligent topics. There were the moments when X accidentally sees Y with Z and wonders what Y's and Z's relationship is, but the doubt does not drag on forever, as in many romantic stories. So often in other stories, I'm screaming at the screen, "Just ask him whether Z used to be someone he was romantically connected to before or not, for God's sake!" Here those questions got answered pretty quickly. However, Minato-san does have good reason, aside from his own hang-ups because of his previous crush on Sakuma-sensei, to ask himself whether the two of them should make a permanent relationship. He's going to be at the coin laundry forever. Shin wants to be a doctor. Not a typical combination. He does love Shin and wants what's best for him, not sure if he is what's best.
The innocuous crossword puzzle as the key to the return of Shin's memory was very clever and apt. The letter that Minato-san hid also brings tears to my eyes every time it is read, remembering the scene where the question was originally asked and Minato-san got tongue-tied after saying that Shin was handsome. I had no idea that it was going to become key to the denouement until it did. It is also significant that, at the end, Minato-san became active in the physical relationship of which he was so scared, thus making the relationship complete.

They’re so adorable together. I wish there was a season 3. Maybe it’ll have Akira being okay with Shin’s advances. And maybe Shin will start addressing Akira ‘as’ Akira and not ‘Minato-san’

I thought that it was such a slow moving, drawn out series. Each episode similar to every other one, with Minato behaving like a neurotic teenager, rather than the 30 year old adult. This stupid behaviour was echoed by another boring character in the script and his relationship with a younger man. Both series 1 and series 2 could have easily been condensed into 3 episodes.
Taiwan, Japan, and Korea don't know how lucky they were to have missed this series.
How was it not realistic, though? Boring? Because most 17-year olds fall in love with a 28-year old and the relationship just blossoms in 70 minutes of storytelling? One of the main points is Shin's persistence, when Minato-san could have dismissed his love as a silly result of an 8-year old thinking his hero is still the same guy as he was about a decade before. Only Minato-san turns out to indeed be the same generous hero Shin remembered. If you don't give Shin a chance to be persistent beyond all expectations then that doesn't come across as strongly as it should. Imagine you lived in their fishing town. Is this a story that happens and resolves itself lickety split? If you were watching from a small fishing town in Japan today, would this story not be quite an eye-opener to a large number of people?
And your last line betrays your lack of knowledge. The series was broadcast originally in Japan. The last episode showed in Tokyo on Sept. 20, 2023. Japan certainly didn't "miss this series." This can easily be researched on line, but you didn't bother to do so.
Did you consider _Red, White and Royal Blue_ to be slow-moving too, it taking s-o-o-o-o-o-o long for them to develop their relationship, and so long for the , I suppose, neurotic Prince Henry to decide he belonged to Alex and not Britain, and like Minato-san, no longer be neurotic?
@@gnirolnamlerf593593 it seemed to me that every episode had the same theme. I just cannot relate to anybody taking so long to realise that they love a young man and persistently refuse to admit it or take it forward. The Facebook ad for this from 'Gagaoolala - Find YourStory' said that it was not available in those countries. I usually believe what they say about their own programmes. I do not go into a paranoid Google research to check out these type of facts. If I did, i would be as neurotic as Minato. I would have preferred it if the Director had speeded up the process a bit and gave maybe 9 of the episodes to show how they got on after they had agreed to become lovers. How did they manage through the university time etc. But, hey that is my opinion. I am glad that you enjoyed it. It would be a very dull world if we all shared the same likes and dislikes.
@@otismackFYI, the reason this dorama didn't air in the mentioned countries us because they aired in different platform.
Also, in Japan, Minato's Laundromat is VERY well received.
Maturity is not expressed through age, there are some people who are mature when they are young.
There's nothing wrong with being 30 years old having a cute and active personality.
And I'm so annoyed by people who think entering a relationship or falling in love will automatically rewire a person 😂 Minato was always a nervous person. Only he can change that. Shin can love him as much as possible but Minato is Minato. The problem is you people are to used to the silly fantasies in a lot of these shows where falling in love somehow fixes all the persons flaws
