Thanks for this one! It really helped me with the AC compressor on an older Getz, before I got my hands on the car - just to be prepared and understanding that I could remove the compressor and still have alternator and power steering functional while waiting for spare parts. Top notch! 🙂

Hi Steve, thanks for watching! I'll be honest with you that changing engine mounts is unfortunately not something we'll likely get around to soon on the Getz, but will keep it in mind for future
The Kia Rio JB with 1.4l g4ee uses a v belt for the power steering pump which doesn't grip nearly as well as micro v ribbed belts. Even the OEM PN belt slips on a cold morning when well tensioned
Hi mate, this doesnt seem to be the right way around for the 1.1L hyundai getz, it looks like the alternator belt is at the back. Could you help me out with this?
Don’t suppose you would know why I replaced my belt 2 weeks ago as it shredded the last one and have since put a new one on and it’s thrown it off today. The car squeals when I put the ac on at low revs and only throws when the ac is on. Any ideas
Hi Ben, it would be worth having a look at the A/C compressor, which is connected to the pulley which the belt runs around. There is a clutch which controls whether the compressor is being driven, as it doesn't need to run while the A/C is off. If the clutch or compressor bearings have issues, they may be seizing and causing the belt to slide on the compressor pulley (rather than spin it) when the A/C is turned on. It would be worth taking the car to a mechanic who specialises in car air conditioning systems, typically the kind who do air con regas jobs etc
Hi Quiet Storm, thanks for the question. Unfortunately we haven't worked on a diesel Getz before so can't comment on this one. We regularly use PartsOuq.com - you can put in the vehicle identification number (VIN) for your Getz and see exploded diagrams of basically the entire vehicle, which should answer this one. It's a fantastic resource and free to use. Hope that helps
I couldn't remove the alternator belt. I loosened all three bolts and it could rock up and down but the belt was still too tight to get off. Am I missing something?
Hi Chris, hard to say without being able to see it but I'd suggest checking that the alternator is able to move along its full travel and isn't getting caught up on anything else. New belts (which haven't stretched yet) will be shorter than used belts, so you typically need more travel to get the new belt on than you do to get the old belt off, meaning old belts should come off relatively easily if the alternator can move up as far as it should. If someone has previously installed a shorter belt by mistake (and forced it on), you could consider cutting the old belt to remove it, and a new belt of the correct size should fit
Is there anything important to keep in mind when changing the belt? this is my first time changing the belt and i dont wanna mess up anything. And also, my car is a 2002-2005 model, but that doesnt matter right?
Hi Alexander, this video demonstrates the 1.4L G4EE engine, but can also be applied to the 1.6L G4ED engine. You have a different engine than those, so we recommend getting your hands on a copy of the factory service manual (FSM) for your particular year model and engine code. We also highly recommend using the site Partsouq.com, which is free to use and a fantastic resource for working on cars. You can put in your particular Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and see exploded diagrams with full part numbers for almost the entire car, and even purchase genuine Hyundai parts from there. Hope that helps!
The same part number for the aircon belt was supplied by the dealer but it doesn't seem to fit. It's much shorter than the original on there. What's the number on the side of your new belt? Mine was 4pk820.
Hi David, unfortunately we can't look at the aircon belt that was installed in the video but it should be a 4PK825 (i.e. 4 ribs, 825mm effective length)
Hi there I have one of these and I'm having an issue when I turn my steering wheel the belt that goes around my power steering pump seizes under load I have tried replacing my power steering pump but I'm still having this issue all the belts run freely until I turn the steering wheel

I had my oil and oil filter changed on my Getz 2008 1.5l diesel at a garage, the day after the blower motor started making a funny noise (loudest on the maximum fan speed), but then the noise stopped, could it be related to the oil / filter change? The mechanic did use power tool to remove something under the car which I thought was strange as oil sump is usually easily accessible and the oil filter is located at the top of the car
Hi Quiet Storm, thanks for the question. Unfortunately we haven't worked on a diesel Getz before so can't comment on this one. Please see my other comment regarding accessing detailed diagrams of your vehicle
@@2ndGearLow Thank you for replying, the diesel ones are quite rare, whenever I order parts the shopkeepers are always surprised they make diesel versions
Hi! I replaced my belts because started squeezing, i did everything like you , but my new belt is making squeezing sound too.i think the alternator belt, what can be the problem?
Hi Shinobi, if you mean a screeching/squeeking noise common causes could be improper belt tension or a worn pulley. If it sounds like the noise is coming from around the Alternator, try removing that belt and see if the Alternator pulley doesn't spin freely or makes any grinding noise while turning, suggesting the bearing may be worn and the pulley needs replacing. Best to check all the pulleys while you're there
Hi Alex, we always recommend entering your particular vehicle identification number (VIN) into partsouq.com. This is a fantastic and free resource with full exploded diagrams with part numbers for almost the entire car, unique to your particular vehicle. If you put your VIN in and then search for drive belt you will be able to find the part numbers on the exploded diagrams, including substitute part numbers if applicable and you can purchase genuine parts through that same site. Hope that helps.
