Awesome video i got the .5 with 4 minis thos thing is a run in gun for public. Also i work day shift off at 230pm i set this up so quick and it never fails to be so quite. Got a big 10 point with a 2hr sit l.
I totally agree with your message. Yes they are expensive but how many different stands do people try because they offer a feature the last one didn't or you are looking for something that the current stand doesn't provide. It took me a while to take the plunge and I'm glad I did because this is my go to setup and being mobile is much better than sitting in the same places. Great review and content!
Thank you. And you’re so right. One big reason I went to mobile hunting is I had 2 pre set, set ups stolen. I had a new ladder stand, and I had a stick ladder and hang on stand stolen. Total value was $650 gone. So I mean being mobile allows you to not be worried about those stolen things and in the long run… has to be cheaper. Lol
So I split the sticks up in pairs. I stack them one on top of each other and place them face down, and the using the tie down points, I wrap them up with my bow rope. I’ll make a video when I get back up north where my stands are.
Yes, all the stands have the bow holder holes IN THE PLAYFORMS. but the .5 seat (small seat) does not have bow holder holes in it. You would have to get the medium seat on it to do that… and it only adds a few ounces to the total weight. And the comfort and multi use function is there.
Is that a 22” post on the .75? I’m 6’2” as well, 250 lbs and have a size 13 shoe. The .5 is too small for me, especially because I want to feel safe in a tree with my footing, I’m stuck between the .75 and the 1.0. How do you feel about footing in the .75?
Thanks for the video! You said you will use the .75 for hill country, is that bc you plan to have longer sits? Just curious. I am torn over which to buy the .5 or the .75
Honestly it’s because I want to get some solid time in both stands. I have beast sticks, and I’m going to run those to get higher, and on the .5 I’m going to run 2 mini compacts (with cable aiders) so my plan is for swap run and gun hunting I’ll use the .5… in hills, where I’ll be set up high, I’m planning the .75. But honestly in testing… my favorite is the .5. But that all depends on your comfort. That .5 has no “extra” room. So it’s very minimal.
@@markschuette2615I hunt in super cold weather and need the bigger boot room . I'm also larger and have big feet. I understand it is a bit more "cumbersome" but think I may need it. Really wanted the 0.75 but just think it would be too tight for me.
@@rorynelson7548 hopefully this answer doesn’t piss you off, but if you’re looking for “comfort” I recommend the .75. It will have a slightly taller seat post and a medium standard seat which is the perfect size seat for these stands. The extra length on the front of the stand is nice… but it’s honestly not “needed” but could be great to have if you want to amp up comfort with a mesh seat. Mesh seat size takes up a lot of platform on the .5 in my opinion. Now with the .5… when you get up high, the platform shrinks. lol I also battle with heights but the biggest thing you need to remember with the .5 is it’s a minimalist stand. It’s not made for comfort or to be an all day sit and chill style hunt. So keeping that in mind, if your goal is to get your weight that you’re carrying in down… and to hop around and not be restricted to one tree.. the .5 with medium seat is the best stand for that in my opinion. But if you’re not worried about weight savings, and you’re not hiking a whole lot and you just want a light option, I’d look at the .75, if not the 1.0. You can get the 1.0 with a medium seat… and you’re looking at just a few minor ounce different in weight. It’s like 3 or 4 ounces if I remember correctly between the .75 and 1.0 with the same seat options. The 1.0 looks bigger in weight on website because it comes standard with the large seat. But honestly getting the medium seat matches the weight almost perfectly to the .75… and adds some width that if you’re really nervous in a tree might help you out. Being 5’6… the seat post options would all probably be just find in the standard configurations. And being 218lbs size 10 you will have good room in all stands for foot room, but the 1.0 might offer more width security for you and make the transition easier.
@@michigangrownoutdoors7254 yes it did man. I'm using an old 14 pound LW alpha 2 now and just can be a sob to hang sometimes trying to hold that sucker to the tree and get the strap around ya know lol appreciate you taking the time man seriously
Not true. These lwcg stands toe hook just fine. Watch my other videos. Andrae daquisto created the toe hook method for the original lone wolf stands that XOP coppied. Get your stand history right.
One good thing about being 5’7 is that I can get away with the .5 even for long sits. Good comparison thanks!
@@carlparisi9749 the .5 really surprised me even at 6’2. It’s my go-to now. Even over the .75.

I hate thieves but they unfortunately are a part of life.
I enjoy the content but can you please start filming in landscape? The vertical is driving me nuts 🤣
Yeah I’ll work on that one lol I went vertical because landscape cut off my head last time. But will make that adjustment. Thank you!

Does the .5 have the multiple bow holder holes like the .75? I can't tell because of the stealth stripping.
