Planning a trip to Japan this November. It’ll be awesome to try a few merino wool pieces since the weather will be transitioning. Thanks for sharing and recommending!
I have always heard that merino wool clothes are great to travel with but have never tried any. would love to to try some of Unboud Merino clothing. Thanks for your videos!
Did not know how quickly wool dries. I appreciate the different suggestions here, how it can be both warm and cooling. Would love to try Unnound Merino in the coming year.
I've heard a lot of hype about merino wool, and I wanted to see what you all said about the whole natural anti microbial claim the material has.. Sounds like a cool thing to try
We're going to Japan in December and have found your videos very informational. Love your adventures with 3 young children. I'm interested to try the merino wool clothing instead of cotton. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
About 10 months ago, I started wearing merino wool sport bras after learning that women are being exposed to high levels of toxic chemicals that are found in sports bras and other moisture wicking athletic-wear. I thought I was going to be boiling hot in the merino wool but found that they were really comfortable in winter and summer months here in Iowa. I would be very interested in trying clothing from the Unbound merino wool clothing line. I love the idea of its versatility in using it year-round by itself in the summer and layering it in the winter. I’ll be traveling to Osaka in October and I’ve been learning a lot from your videos. Thank you!
Merino wool would be perfect to pack for a trip to Japan in October! The fall leaves should be beautiful that time of year. We really enjoyed Minoo Falls near Osaka for the fall leaves. In case you missed it, here's our fall in Osaka video: ruclips.net/video/fOLxAPtacHM/видео.html 🌺 Heidi
I have used merino wool shirts for many years for travel, for the reasons you have shared…no smell, no wrinkles, dressy, warm in cold weather, cool in warm weather. I have shirts mostly from Icebreaker based in New Zealand, but will try Unbound on your recommendation. Thank you for the very informative videos on Japan travel. Aloha from Hawaii…Art
Thanks for sharing your experience with Merino wool travel clothing! We also have a couple pieces by Icebreaker. I like that they are moving towards 100% Merino wool and away from blends. Unbound has some of both. We love the Unbound 100% Merino wool tee shirts, plus the hoodie sweater, which has some Elastane. Don’t get me started talking about wool, I could go on forever… 😆🌸 Heidi
Thank you for the video! I appreciate the honest review of merino wool. You hear so much about the material holding up to stink and wrinkles, the honesty is great! I'll definitely try out the crew neck T's for me and my wife's first trip to Japan next month! And p.s. thanks for the Klook JR pass info!
I am preparing for a trip to Japan and Costa Rica. Finally looking at some me time. I like the functionality of the clothing and think they would be multipurpose for all types of conditions. Being able to line dry clothing would work very well in both trips.
We just found your channel and have really enjoyed your content. We have a trip to Japan planned for next year and I have been looking for Merino Wool clothing. Thank you for all you do!
I love merino wool! So cool and comfortable...looks good all the time and is GREAT for travel! Thank for your video. It's so hot in Japan right now... that dress is perfect and you're right, a small t shirt under the dress would look great!
I'm curious to try unbound merino based on your reviews. I have a few pieces from another brand and they are my favorite items in my closet. I love the comfort and temperature regulation of wool. It's easier to care for than I thought, and like you said, it dries faster than the other clothing material after washing. Thanks for your videos and reviews!
I love the antimicrobial properties and quick dry time with merino, it can’t be beat! Warm in the winter and cool in the summer it’s an absolute magical fiber.
I appreciate that y'all covered both the pros and the cons, and also some solutions to the cons! It was surprising to hear that long-sleeves were recommended even in summer. (Thanks for mentioning that, George!)
Really enjoy your videos and headed to Japan shortly. We love merino wool for travel and I will definitely be checking out outbound merino as very competitive prices. Love the dress.
T shirts sound as a great idea as they are easy to clean and have temperature control depending on weather conditions, I will consider them for my Japan trip coming soon
I've had Unbound Merino bookmarked for some time now thanks to your channel. Just haven't gotten past checkout because its a bit pricey. Thanks for what you do!
I’ve just started switching my wardrobe over to merino. I love how easy my laundry situation is becoming. I haven’t tried Unbound Merino yet and would love to give it a go!
Silly questions. And I have been googling this..... are you guys in Japan right now? Do you expect it to get a little cooler next week? Should I bring all shorts? I can't tell if it will start getting cooler....
We aren’t in Japan right now. They have been having a heat wave, but the weather can change quickly. When we were there last October we wore pants and sweaters.
What’s the latest piece you’ve added to your wardrobe? It’s great that Unbound offers more women’s pieces these days, so there’s enough to piece together a complete capsule wardrobe. I’m still hoping they will add a skirt and a flowy cardigan. 🌸 Heidi
We are heading for Japan later this fall and appreciate the low maintenance feature of the Merino clothing when traveling but how is the fit? Is it cut loose or tight?
HI, for men's, the shirts are very comfortable and stretchy. I'm thin so all my shirts are a little loose on me. But their travel pants are very slim fitting, I have them but they are not my favorite due to the fit. For women's there is regular which is a little loose and they offer slim shirts that are more tight fitting.
Curious about merino clothing because I’m so tired of repurchasing the same staples multiple times each year. Funny enough, my tastes haven’t changed but clothing quality sure has. So between that and planning to travel more streamlined for my Spring trip to Japan, I’m ready to invest in the best.
I absolutely love Merino Wool. I have a dress from another company that I love and have worn almost every day for this past year. I would love to try some items Unbound Merino for travel and to further minimize my wardrobe with high quality, sustainable products.
Your commentary and reviews on Unbound Merino is great! Very honest with the pros and cons. I am very interested in moisture wicking and temperature regulation properties. Thanks a lot! Hoping to win the giveaway to try some pieces myself! 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Hi Thanks so much for the videos. They are helping us a lot as we plan our upcoming trip to Japan. I just to know wether it is possible to marino wool clothes is Japan since we don’t live in the US. Thanks again.
Hi. It might be hard to find Merino wool clothing in Japan. You might be able to get Merino wool base layers at an outdoors store. UNIQLO sells synthetic clothing for either hot or cold weather. Unbound Merino does ship worldwide and you can save 10% with KENSHOQUEST.
The Unbound Merino wool tee shirts are especially soft. They are made from ultra-fine 17.5 micron wool. We haven't experienced stretching, even with washing in the washing machine and hanging dry. 🌺 Heidi

Some said on petites it seems like a lot of fabric? I am 5’2” bust 37 wait 35 hips 41.5 and i am looking at size large and XL for leggings and slim fit tops
Hi, Unbound offers mens travel pants. If you like a snug slim fit then you might like them. I have them but personally they are too tight for my taste. Hi. I'm 5'4" and wear regular sizes. Everything is just longer on me than on the models. It doesn't matter too much for dresses. The Unbound Merino Travel Dress is midi length on the models, but ankle length on me. 🌸 Heidi
I have never worn merino wool but I want to purchase some pieces for my travel wardrobe with my son. I am also a minimalist so these pieces would be great year round. Also, I changed to barefoot shoes for me and my 4-year-old and I love them. Thanks for that recommendation.
Just a question about wearing a Merino wool material in Southeast Asia during summer months, is it a good idea? I have been thinking of going one bag as we are stopping in multiple cities. Thank you
Yes, absolutely. Merino wool is pretty much all that we wear in South East Asia, year round. Especially very thin lightweight Merino wool. It's great for wicking away sweat. I wanted to get your dress ,but the plus sizes were not available. I intend to get Georges jacket for my husband with your discount. Your children are beautiful and growing with each video! Mahalo❤
On my recent trip to Malaysia and Indonesia, I packed four 100% merino wool long sleeve shirts. Wearing them, I feel secure with the extra sun protection. When outside all day in the hot weather, I wear a 175gsm shirt and matching leggings (if I can find 175gsm pants I will wear it to stay cool in hot weather!). When I’m outside for shorter duration or late afternoon into evenings, I wear one of my three 200gsm shirts and cotton pants. I haven’t yet invested in merino wool pants, but I will after this trip. My shirts would smell of sweat after each use, but the smell goes away after I hang them to dry indoors on clothes hangers (I read that moths will eat the fibres, so I avoid drying them outside). I only wash my shirts once a week when I have access to laundry. I also read that merino wool is okay to use as swim suit. So, I have also used my 100% 175gsm merino wool camisole and briefs for swimming and snorkelling.
Wow, sounds like you already have quite the wool travel wardrobe! I've been meaning to try swimming in Merino wool. How did that go? Unbound recently released Women's Lightweight Travel Pants (144 gsm), but they are already sold out... It's nice having another wool fan to chat with! 🌺 Heidi
I will keep an eye out for the Unbound Merino lightweight pants. Thanks for recommending them! I find swimming in merino wool very comfortable. Sometimes I wear a merino wool bra underneath the camisole, sometimes I wear just the camisole itself. It feels like swimming with clothes on as the fabric is softer than synthetics. Merino wool feels feather light, doesn’t stick to my skin like regular swimsuits and when I am out from the pool or seawater, merino wool dries faster whereas synthetics tend to trap a layer of water against my skin (water can only be removed when the synthetic layer is pulled away from the body). I also like that it regulates my body temperature in the water.
Have you guys ever tried modal? Here in Brazil, I haven't found merino wool yet, but some companies have been working with modal for tech t-shirts. I have one and I really love it. It is fresher than cotton it wrinkles less and it doesn't smell as much. It feels much cooler on hot days. It is very low maintenance. A little pricier than cotton but probably a bit cheaper than merino. I heard that modal fabric was developed in Japan, so I wonder if you guys have tried... I would like to try a piece of clothing in merino wool some day...
Yes, we've worn modal, which is very similar to rayon. It can be comfortable, but in my experience it is absorbent, so it will absorb and hold onto sweat. My kids like wearing Tencel (similar to modal and rayon) tee shirts.

Sorry about that. Did you try KENSHOQUEST? It only works once per person.
Please pick me for gift card. I live in Waianae hawaii. I have a merino dress that I absolutely love and would love to have a merino capsule wardrobe. Mahalo
@candylord6690 You won the Unbound gift card! Please email me with subject line "Unbound Winner" so we can get it to you.
Unbound is good, but not for buyers from Europe, because they have to pay a lot of taxes
There are likely many brands of wool clothing available in Europe.
Hello!
I have a product specially designed for washing Marino wool clothing while you're traveling.
Let me know if you'd like me to send you
We’re interested! You can message us on Instagram @kenshoquest.
Unbound is way overpriced for merino wool clothing.
