  • This is an excellent video on grading coyotes and what you can expect to sell your hides for. Groenewold Fur & Wool does a great job in breaking down the different grades and explaining what the market needs are. Great job guys!

Good info. For all those complaining about fur buyers not wanting to pay higher prices, it's supply and demand. If they were more in fashion, there would be more competition to buy the pelts and the prices would be higher. For those complaining about trappers getting money for pelts, they put a lot of work into it and if you want to control the coyote population, it certainly helps to pay people and give them an incentive to do it. Thanks for the trappers, hunters and buyers!

Maybe they’d have more credibility if they filmed horizontally instead of vertically 🤦‍♂️

JM Camacho I believe that was the first video they ever did on Facebook. I helped them out with a few things and filming horizontally was one tip I gave them. Everyone has to start somewhere, lord knows I’m still learning and hopefully getting better at what I do. Thanks for watching.

The Quality of the coat depends on the time of year harvested also, which was not mentioned. Big difference in summer and winter coats!

Is fur in winter heavier but easier to be damaged by snow?

So when you're sitting out there and a coyote comes running, make sure you look at how long his fur is and how thick it is and make sure you he doesn't have a lot of mites and ticks and only hit him with a perfect shot (one only) and make sure he has a white belly and make sure.........................THEN take your shot. Man oh man, how can we knock the price down 101. I wonder why there are coyotes with "no commercial value" on the table??

Flooded market, they are free to pick only what is perfect. But coyote fur market is extremely extremely limited. You can corner it today if you want to. Make it shine like diamonds 😛

that was facinating...can´t believe I watched the whole thing. For those complaining...they are not offering low prices for the bad ones...they just don´t buy them because they have no value for the industry. so clearly not taking advantage of anyone on that issue.

if you have ever read a Terry Johnson book about mountainmen in the late 1800's, fur buyers and trappers have always disagreed on the value of the fur. In my 30 yrs of trapping, I have seen the fur buyers dwindle from many to just a few. So there must not be to much money in it or there would be more buyers.

Apparently there’s not a lot of good coyotes according to your grading tactics. But as far is mange and mites and genetics you need to do a little more research that I’m calling BS

It's too bad the person holding the cell phone camera didn't know that when you hold you cell phone horizontal...you get a wide screen video instead of the Tall and skinny video as seen in this video...hold your cell phone horizontal to get Wide screen video. Thanks.

Real sportsman do it for management and not profit. It is very important to manage numbers and coyote with mange needs out of the population other wise the mange will spread.

As far as coyotes are concerned, It actually helps the species if the numbers are managed. Out of control numbers would cause widespread mange among other things.
