I tried this Oops product last night to remove the permanent black dye from my medium brown hair. The Oops stuff stripped the black off very well. However, as many have stated, what's left is the red from where the hydrogen peroxide in the black dye had "lifted" my hair. I definitely don't hate it.
"I always act on my impulses with my hair" I started losing it laughing at this point, your attitude is literally me. "someone who has dyed their hair an astronomical amount of times." I wanna use colour oops but idk how it's gonna go yikes, I had like half my natural colour back and then my dumb ass went and dyed it black Ugh. So that part should be fine but the bottom half was a hot mess of a faded split dye and years of black and then bleach and then colour
Try it! Mine definitely takes way more color out than this. I just had basically almost black hair and it took it to a brassy light brown. I just re dye and it looks great.
She either kept it in more than 20 minutes and the process started to reverse, or she used a PH balancing shampoo which closed the cuticles. I'm guessing she used Head & Shoulders, as she mentioned. This product works by opening the cuticles and shrinking the dye molecules so they can be shampooed out. Use a clarifying shampoo and it will work. I use Color Oops all the time.

You should use the extra strength one. You need that for dye as dark as this. I just used the extra conditioning one on my hair, 4 days after dying it from a 9 to a 7. It says in the instructions that the extra conditioning one is only for use within 48 hrs of dying. I didn't read that til I got home from the store and opened the box. It worked, but my hair's still very gold. I might try the extra strength one myself, just to be sure I got all the dye out that I can. It feels a lot fluffier and cleaner though!
Color remove more than once! It's safer than bleach!! Bleach only lightens the hair, it does not pull out color. So it'll only lighten the dark brown, but it may come out patchy. Color remove maybe twice but make sure to condition your hair a lot in between, after that you can bleach it if you want it lighter! But you don't wanna bleach it while there is still a lot of color in, you need to get as much out as possible, just make sure to take care of your hair in the process because this is a SUPER drying process!! You can also do a bleach bath after pulling out the color, it's more gentle than a straight application of bleach 💛
