The toyota axles especially in this one can be built as tough as any 1 ton. The rear in these is a full floater and the front is a rear out of a 4 runner
80 series axles are known for handling 37s on rocks. The front is a 8" high pinion that is specific to the 80 series landcruiser, and will bolt into any toyota mini axle. The high pinion is reverse cut gears which is stronger in the front but weaker in the rear. RCV makes lifetime warranty axles for these
Yes, the 80 series seems to handle most wheeling just fine with 37s. Some guys run 40s.
Sounds like that thing needs some plugs or plug wires. Missing like crazy. But hey... for $1200 bucks... you can't beat that!
I have a 80 series that’s chopped and on 37s. I’ve broken axles with with those 37s and even chromoly axles.
