June 21, 2023, 8:00 a.m. Central. The landmark moment I discovered your channel after my doctor prescribed Lipitor. "You don't want to die of a heart attack, do you?" My doctor is a long-time university professor. I agreed to a low dosage, bothered by the scary side effects. Dr. Axe, *you* should be the guest speaker in all these medical schools. Today am going to my health food store to pick up everything you mentioned. Your viewers' comments, also encouraging.

Hey doctor really enjoyed this video tonight.. I'm a sixty four year old lady in the UK who weighed 16stone and had very high cholesterol ie 6.8 and now after losing weight, nearly two stone my cholesterol has come down to 5.2, my doctor is amazed at how I've managed to do it. And that is no bread, no crisps, no cakes or pastries, no processed meats, no ready made meals, next to no meat only chicken with no skin... Just tons of vegs, salads, porridge in the morning with dried fruits, almond or cashew nut milk, houmous with ryvitas for lunch or veg soup, then chicken and vegs or salads In The evening, feel great.. Thanks paula

You should never put any essential oils on your skin or hair as it can burn your skin and it can break you hair off. I couldn’t understand why my😅 hair was breaking off it was due to me rubbing it on my hair. They should always be mixed in a carrier oil 😩

    • @msudawgma
      @msudawgma 8 месяцев назад

@teresaspensley5640 , consider the essential oils also; are they truly 100% pure? Young Living is the only one I know of that's 100% pure. I put a little Rosemary in my hand, rub together, and run it through my hair. It was helped keep the grays back.

Some people seem to be confused, from reading the comments. Garlic must be raw and minced and must sit at least ten minutes before swallowing . Cooking it or swallowing it like a 'pill' does not do the job. You need to release the allicin in the garlic. Turmeric must be cooked and added carrier oil needs to accompany it along with freshly ground peppercorns. He didn't mention this but also add raw ginger (minced) and acv. If you add cinnamon only use Ceylon. Manuka honey KFactor16.

Hey Josh, great to see you again. I've followed you for years and have your books. Now that I have survived Covid after a 2 year struggle, I just had my blood checked cuz I am ready to get back to my life and need to rebuild what was lost. My LDL is 190 and my HDL is 5.00. Surprised due to thought I was eating healthy. Thank you for the video and information, for I choose to lower my cholesterol safely and thoroughly. While I do a dry sauna, Red Light Therapy, Chiropractic care, drink lots of water/tea/mushroom coffee and eat fish and Micro greens, I look to increase the consistency along with adding a stretch class 5x/week along with working my way back to walking three miles a day! Mentally, I am so looking forward to getting back what I feel I lost.
    Bless you!

Well, have you heard of skinny fat.? I’m super skinny but my total cholesterol was 238 and ldl was 131 four months ago. By cutting down the amount of red meats from my diet, adding oatmeal, salmon, krill oil, more vegetables daily and walking 30 mins 3or more times a week, my cholesterol is now at 181 and LDL 93. My goal is to have the total below 150 and LDL below 70 by my next annual check up.

CoQ10 and high quality fish oil are definitely great for cardiovascular health, but I'm surprised you skipped niacin (B3) because it is perhaps the most effective natural vitamin for treating cholesterol issues. I've been taking all 3 of these supplements for years and the best part is that the ubiquinol (CoQ10) counteracts the possible side effects of the niacin. I haven't had any heart issues or any health issues at all since I began this regimen. I also take a high quality all natural multivitamin, Ester C and Vitamin D3. These 6 supplements with a reasonably well balanced diet have kept me healthy and off of all medications, I will take them for the rest of my life.

I'm going to try a high fibre diet for 3 months before getting checked again. It looks genetic, and I probably would need to get on a statin but I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping the change in diet brings down those figures.

It is now known that HDL tends to rise as a defense mechanism to mitigate the damage of elevated LDL. It's much more important to lower LDL than to be concerned about the ratio. My ratio is great but my elevated LDL is a concern. A primarily whole foods plant based diet has lowered my LDL significantly and reduced inflammatory markers as well. While I agree that Omega 6 oils and processed food increases inflammation so does meat which is highly acidic.

Be careful with raw garlic, it maybe too strong and toxic for the human body depending on the person......definitely recommend cooked garlic instead

You right about raw garlic.. it lower my cholesterol, but gave me lots of problem with my stomach.
Cooked garlic has no benefit same with swallowing whole garlic.. the big benefit when is raw & crashed...

Great advice. I weaned myself off statins after 10 years due to severe side effects and my doctor got angry and walked out of the room. I do not care. I knew about Q10 and took it then (my doctor did not know you needed it) and continue taking it now. Following almost the same regime as you have stated and can confirm I feel 100 percent healthier, actually normal for the first time in 10 years. Lost a lot of weight and do fast/slow walking an hour a day. I also slowly weaned myself off BP meds slowly and on my next visit my doctor in October he is going to explode, don't care, that's his problem. Likely strike me off. He does not believe in dietary cures or supplements at all.......probably because Big Pharma feeds him a load of crap about their drugs.

I noticed the comment around cinnamon bark. I take some cinnamon powder and add it to a smoothie I got from you some years ago now (Milk, eggs, blueberries, some banana, peanut butter, whey, flax and chia) This powder is what you typically find in a jar at the supermarket, so the question is, is this suitable, or would I be better using another cinnamon product? I live in the UK. Thank you in advance for any advice

I was informed recently after learning that I have high cholesterol that Bergamot oil is as effective as Statin drugs. Dr axe, do you know anything about it in terms of its efficacy?

I experience bouts of non-diabetic hypoglycemia.
After lots of research I found Bergamot can also Decrease blood glucose. Now I'm wondering if it can be taken with licorice to maintain glucose levels, but still decrease LDLs.
