This is an ethnic group of Koreans living in Japan. The ethnic group that represents these Koreans is called Chongryon, they are related to North Korea, within Japan they have their own schools, sports centers and universities. For example, there is a famous footballer of this ethnic group who played in the 2010 World Cup called Jong Tae-se. He is currently retired and lives in Japan (where he played in the first and last games of his career). There are also other athletes of this ethnic group who represent Korea even though they live in Japan. A few months ago, the North Korean men's and women's football teams played against Japan. Many Chongryon Koreans went to support Japan. Although Japan does not recognize the DPRK as a state, this organization has served from time to time as a kind of de facto embassy. Some students travel to Korea, and politically they have a party that represents them in North Korea, although it is very small.
