Hello there! I can't express how helpful this video has been for an indian native like me (cue eternal summer)
I absolutely CANNOT wear any acrylic here and have been struggling with cotton yarn for some time now, but this has solved a lot of problems thankfully phew
    Thank you so much 🤍

I'm glad I found you. I do like crocheting with thick acrylic yarn but I am hoarding loads of cotton yarn, mostly it's 100% cotton, for when I go back to Cambodia. However, pure cotton stretches when it gets wet, which isn't great in a place where it rains every day for 6 months. What cotton blend would stretch the least?

The sweater you're wearing is soooo pretty!! Thanks for letting us in on a lot of this cotton yarn info. Premier yarns has a 50 50 Cotton acrylic blend called cotton fair, I think is its name. Never used it, but have felt it at Michaels, it's super soft and feels pretty light. Have a good one!

Angie Ren thanks for the sweet compliment ☺️💕 I will have to check that one out. Our michaels aren’t that great here. My yarn aisle is just 1 row. I’ve seen some michaels that have several rows!

I was dreading of the cons of cotton which is its heavy, sag a lot,and trapping smell.Since then I stopped buying 100% cotton and opted to buy bamboo instead.Problem is i have handyed fingering weight cotton and am wondering if it is okay to be made into wraps or cardi...also what do you think of making innerwear tops from bamboo? Will it be breathable for summer? There's also cotton bamvoo out there but im not sure about the pro n con.

That was very helpful. I can not wear wool or acrylic next to my skin. I think PaintBox yarn has brought out, good cotton yarn and after watching this, I just ordered some ;)
    Love from London.

What a great video with such good information. It seems, from what you have said in this video, that mercerized cotton would be good for a cowl. Am I correct?

I know I am late to this vid. But I am wanting to make some face cloths for some babies. What brand or blend of cotton yarn would you recommend for these? I am fairly new to cotton yarns. I have been crocheting and knitting for many years so the yarn being spitty isnt an issue. Great job explaining :) I just dont have the money to go out experimenting a lot.

Thanks so much for the video! I am new at using cotton. I made a bathroom washcloth, probably hobby lobby brand. After washing and drying it shrunk a lot. What is best for keeping cloths (and clothes) from shrinking?

This is the first video od yours that I've seen. But I LOVE the name Yarniacs. It sounds super fun. This is such a great video! Thank you for making this. I'm still fairy new to knitting, though I've been knitting for a few years. Thank you for your advice. It's greatly appreciated. 😄
I personally buy cheaper yarn because I'm on a budget, but I just love knitting and crocheting. I generally use acrylic yarn and sometimes cotton yarn. I like Bernat yarn. Though every brand is great I'm sure. 😄 Do you have any more suggestions of brands? Thank you.

Bernat has the best cottons in my opinion. They’re soft but also hold their shape!

I've really liked using Red Heart's "Scrubby Smoothie" (the *smoothie* part is critical!), not just for kitchen items but also for clothing. It's both softer and stretchier than the other cottons I've tried. It comes in lots of colors, solid and variegated, in 3.5 oz/100g skeins that are 153 yards/ 140m. I get it mostly at JoAnn Etc., where it retails for about $4.50 a skein, but they always have coupons & often good sales.

Hello, thank you for this explanation on cotton yarns 😁 I love the feel of it & love to Crochet with it 💕 because I love to Crochet household items 😋 such as kitchen things & rugs/bathroom sets 💜 but most are in Portuguese or Spanish with the Barbante, Barroco, Anne, Clea, EuroRoma yarn. 😋 I cannot get much of a Choice of cotton yarn locally only James C Brett, here in the UK 😋 I can order on line mostly 50g Skeins but also found somewhere that sells the Cones in 400g 😁💕💜💙 so this has helped me a lot 😁 Erica x

Erica Bates that’s wonderful! I’m still trying to educate myself on what the UK and other countries have available to them. I realize is American makers sometimes forget not everyone can get their hands on the yarns we talk about. 😔 So this year my goal is to be more knowledgeable and direct international makers to yarns I know are available to them!

Thank you that was very informative!! I am liking the fair isle angel recently, it's a cotton blend, I've only found it on joann online, but I'm very happy with quality of the yarn and definately is good for lightweight pieces that are heirloom quality. I like fair isle harbor for sport weight cotton blend they sell that in the store.♡♡ Cant wait for the pieces you've designed with comfy cotton, i wish they had More colors, the yarn is amazing i made a light weight sweater (i live in Florida) it is so pretty and drapes well and is just perfect. I bought some today to make a skirt with!!

I wanted so much to enjoy your video. I like to know that the crafters doing these are authentic. I just thought I would give you some feedback. Once I saw that you are associated with certain brands and receiving some commission, I found it a bit disappointing as I felt you would naturally be drawn to highlighting those yarns that provide you with the financial benefit. I don't know how others feel bu thought you might welcome a reaction from a new viewer.
