Man, your impassioned plea against anti-asian hate crimes and for the recognition of your mostly silent sufferings from around the 1:45:00 mark onwards was incredibly, heartwrenchingly powerful.
It's horrendous how few people even know about that ongoing history, and far fewer even care. It must be incredibly exhausting to have to explain and shout the same things all over again to get people to listen, which they barely ever do because other issues seem more interesting. I myself was relatively clueless about this topic until maybe 5 years ago or so, and your speech specifically was devastatingly honest and painful.
I really love your channel for your well researched, well narrated and in-depth videos, but I love the passion, respect and empathy you show towards each and every story and each and every single victim and affected person even more. You seem like an incredibly kind person, and you deserve a billion subs and all the hugs in the world (if you like hugs, that is)!
I feel it was a bit more than dishonest when she presented the group that was promoting Asian hate. It wasn’t exactly the maga scapegoat. Racial conflicts shouldn’t be ignored just because the aggressor isn’t a convenient pick for political narratives. The African American community has a storied history of Asian hate.

as someone whos going through a lot of emotional flashbacks, dissociation and missing memories from childhood abuse, candace's case fucking broke my heart. i nearly started crying just when she mentioned that she feels shes about to die.
and they all told her to die for real. how horrible of a human being do you have to be to say that?? how can you call yourself a therapist and be such a huge piece of shit.
im usually a pacifist but i hope she one day goes through the same thing that candace had to go through.

Forgot to share this on the original video but for the lead mask case the pills could have been Potassium Iodide which would not have been something that would have killed them but f they thought they were going to be irradiated would have been a brilliant preventative measure like the lead eyewear to protect the delicate eye tissue. The money leads me to believe they thought they'd be able to spend it wherever they were going.
Sorry I know this just poses more questions but I hope it helps eliminate false leads for others.

I can't believe I listened to you talk about Candace Newmaker for like 10 minutes without realizing/remembering that this was the entire inspiration for Petscop, lol. Well, the story is tragic, but the fact that I was so oblivious is kind of funny.
The story about Jennifer is truly terrifying. As a trans individual myself, I’m petrified of violence like this. And Jennifer didn’t deserve this. She was a girl about to move and get married, and that was pulled away from her because some scumbag was transphobic and didn’t want a trans escort. I hope he rots.
What really gets me is the manner in which she passed. Drowning. She was drowned in a toilet bowl. What a horrible, dehumanizing way to die. I too hope he rots away.

From what I heard about the Vincent Chin case, as reported by a local journalist in a podcast (Already Gone if memory serves me), the stepfather was still able to withdraw his pension from Chrysler and he also claimed “bankruptcy” at some point to also avoid payments.

Definitely recommend looking at the statistics of Asian hate crimes in the US and who the predominant perpetrators are. There are a lot of misconceptions out there around this very real topic. I would urge everyone to do their own research rather than simply believing narratives provided by commenters or the media.

I’m part Chinese and Korean, black, native and Scandinavian, and Ukrainian, I don’t pass as ‘Asian looking enough’ and kinda don’t fit in with ANY race in a part of because I’m mixed raced, being part black has been hard enough not being considered, dark enough because I was born with vitiligo and I bleach my skin and don’t tan because I get patches. I’m tried of not being asian enough or black enough. I’m mixed raced and proud and I may not have been raised in those countries but you have my word that I even share a drop of their blood. And yes, I wear braids, I’m native, I was raised native, so we do wear braids of all types. Time to stop Asian hate. Time to speak up, my eyes are very Chinese and my face shape is too, others have noticed. And at one point I was bullied in the Covid times and was told to ‘go back to my country’ others just say I don’t look Asian enough and a wannabe ‘white girl’ when my doctor said I don’t even look white. I’ve had other black people completely deny my African heritage because I have lighter skin not by choice. And when they see my mom and my baby photos of my being very dark they think it’s my sister or I was adopted because of the fact I bleached my skin for years. Mixed raced people have it hard in this country trying to find their place when they are from different cultures/races but don’t fit in anywhere because they aren’t passing enough for said race, so we are left in limbo outside of everyone looking in long for acceptance and validation….
Why can't people just be nice to each other,?we are not born racist we learn it.

Being from a family with a history of racism, I make a point to make comments and actions to demonstrate that all our lives are worth the same and how none can be discounted. I aim to get the future family to be less and less of part of the problem: it's too deep seated to heal in one generation, but I can only hope we'll be able to make the change. It doesn't matter where you or your ancestors are from, you are no less important than I am.
In Candices story, it REALLY highlights the unethical nature of the unchecked adoption system.
I 1000% DO NOT believe her adoptive mother on Candice’s behavior and especially how much support she claimed to have given her. Candice simply wasn’t the perfect child she wanted to purchase, had traumas she didn’t want to have to deal with.
Remember: you should adopt ONLY if you want to help a child have a stable home, NOT if you want your own child. You should not put expectations on an adopted child to do anything for you, because adoption is NOT about you.

Here in Japan, the US soldiers r’pe and m’rder many females throughout the country - not limited to Okinawa - and are infamous for abusing taxi drivers.
All of these are so tragic. But the story of Vincent Chin really hurt. I remember all the attacks on the Asian community when covid happened. But the hate on their community has been happening for a long time, decades! It just makes me so sad that these things happens to people because of ignorance and throwing hate in the wrong direction.

Anti-Asian attitudes are sadly not just an American problem, I live in New Zealand and it's rife even here at the bottom of the world. We have a lot of seasonal workers, mostly from the Phillipines and these workers are often the target of "they're taking our jobs" complaints. This was shown to be completely ridiculous during Covid when the borders closed, and farms and orchards suffered severe loses because Kiwis simply refuse to do those seasonal jobs they're claiming are being stolen from them!! Orchards had to let millions of dollars of crops just rot because there was nobody to pick them. This is still an ongoing problem now because while migrant workers are coming back in, they aren't doing so in numbers large enough to make up for the shortages and Kiwis STILL refuse to do those jobs in their place. Sorry for the rant, this really infuriates me!

Its okay Reignbot, I'm American born on a military army base nonetheless who recently over the grows in highly disliking the entire USA with the rate in which hate is growing its insane. Its hard to have pride in a country that is full of racism and stereotyping and never learning from its mistakes.
Jennifer’s story perfectly encapsulates why we trans people live in constant fear. I have many stories of my own personal experiences, and I have seen so many from others, especially those who are trans women. Even amongst the transgender community, which yes as a whole faces lots of bigotry and violence, trans women are the victims of most of it, especially those of color like Jennifer. It’s far more common than people would know because it’s so rarely reported in by the media because frankly the people who run such media are also often bigoted or just don’t care because they can’t relate. If you are cis-het and white you might not understand the gravity of it, but to me, a queer trans man, I am terrified of what is happening to my fellow trans brothers sisters and siblings, and what could happen to me.
But sadly, as long as the media is quiet about it, and as long as law enforcement are biased in favor of privileged perpetrators, it will remain this way.
