Madi.I retired after 30 years of nursing and I still had days i cried once in awhile. Dont let anyone change your sweetness and make you something you are not. SOME Nurses eat their young sadly!!! So sad but just remember to always be yourself, you are all that is good in the profession!!!!! Keep up the great work.
It is SO NICE to come across your videos and see a person who actually loves what they do as nurse and spreads positive vibes unlike most of the nursing videos on the internet 😭 so happy I found you! Attitude is everything 🙌🏼
I also started in Labor & Delivery as a new grad, the first 6 months are rough! I’m 3 years in & still have bad days, but overall much more confident/comfortable in my role. As the providers get to know & trust you your relationships with them will get better and that makes your job so much easier. Keep your chin up, before you know it’ll you’ll be the one precepting a new grad!
I love this!! Just the motivation to keep going for the week!I took my TEAS exam on March 14 and passed. I watched your video that you made about that and it helped calm my anxiety SO much!!! Thx for sharing your journey 🤍
@@wintawolderufael3280 Yes, please give TIPS for the Teas. I take it in Jan of next year, so 2023. then I start the program in November as long as I get a 92%.
Be kind to yourself and handle things in a professional manor. Its inevitable people will take kindness for weakness as they try to get away with talking down to you or discouraging you. I’m so excited to see you grow and learn so much about this floor 💕
I am so happy for you!! I love how open and honest about being a new grad nurse and the fact that being a new nurse isn’t easy and comes with good days and bad. I graduate this December and part of me is excited and the other part is terrified that I’ll struggle as a new nurse but just take things day by day and you will continue to grow as an amazing nurse!
Congrats Madi! So happy for you! I was a PCNA for 8 years. I still sit with elderly people in the summer part time. I didn’t go the nursing route but changed careers altogether and am now a full time instructional assistant for a blind 16 year old who is going to law school when she graduates! I am also a full time special needs bus aide! I get up at 4 every morning and I can say I absolutely love my jobs but I also love watching your videos! I worked with some of the best nurse and techs when I worked at a large hospital where I live. I still talk and go see them to this day!! You keep going girl! You deserve it all!
Hey Madi, I have been following you since you were a pre-nursing student. I am currently finishing my first semester of nursing school and I know I want to be an L&D nurse. I am glad to hear that you are having good and bad days because I go through that every time I go to clinicals, it’s hard… it’s not easy but you are doing it and that’s what matters. The fact that you have the courage and face it even if it’s hard is what makes you a great nurse. I appreciate the fact that you are honest about your experience. I feel like we can all relate to the bad days vs the good days aspect. Nursing isn’t easy, and your doing it which is amazing 💜
From a far I’m so proud of you Maddie! To think that just 3 years ago you were just getting started & now you’re living out your dream! Once your body adjusts to your new schedule you’re going to kill it! Sending hugs & much love your way! I’m planning to become a PCT in Mother/Baby by the end of the year! In June I find out about my acceptance to the nursing program! You give me hope & shine a bright light on my eagerness! 😘🥰 From one future L&D RN to a NEW L&D RN!
Congrats on your first official week as a registered labor and delivery nurse. It’s always so much fun when you put up new contact. Just remember don’t let any day get you down take each day as it comes. You remember I am disabled so I know every day is hard and you can’t let the world beat you you’re awesome just remember that and embrace it. Keep being you that’s the best thing you can be. You rock!😇😉😎❤🥰😇
I’m so happy for you!! I’ve been watching you the past 3 years since the beginning of my nursing school journey, and you’ve helped me so much! I’m so excited to see you in L&D and that is where I really want to be too! Wishing you the best of luck in your new position! 💗
I just wanted to comment on this, although I know this video is 2 yrs old now lol, because I’ve been interested in becoming a L&D nurse recently after being a HH nurse for 3+ yrs, I found your video. This video brings me such warmth! It reminds me so much of the old style vlogs I used to watch as a teenager where it was fall time and everyone would do hauls of what they got shopping and I just love your vibes❤️ I had to subscribe after watching.

I’m happy you started your journey as an RN. No one and nothing can really prepare you to be an actual nurse until you actually hit the floor. I’m 5 months into my nursing journey being off orientation and on my own now for 7 weeks now and it’s still an adjustment, but you will grow with each shift. Tough shifts happen but we learn from them all the same. Nursing is a tough profession, but just remember your why and your goals, pray before every shift (literally that’s what I do), and give yourself the grace and space to grow. 😌☺️😆
I couldn't agree with this more. I've been a nurse for a tad over a year, just switched specialties about a month ago, and I'm still learning every shift. Nursing is a journey of learning.
