Thank you so much for producing this. I am doing MSc in Public Health and have found it incredibly useful at making sense of how to go about creating health policy interventions. Really pulls it all together in a way that's simple to follow. Thanks again!
if i had watched this video initially I would have saved myself months of confusion. Fantastically explained. Thank you. I chose health psychology as a final year module and have struggled with the transfer of the models to real life intervention design. Thanks.
I'm doing an assignment at the moment and am talking about the COM-B/BCW for part of it and this is the clearest explanation I've seen for how all the stages work and how the interventions work together! Thank you!
I'm on the health psych prof doc right now refreshing on the COM-B model and this is SUCH a good explanation of it, thanks so much - from a fellow Manc!
This was so helpful for my nursing degree and the evidence based practice subjects that I was doing - no clearly explanation anywhere else on the web. Thank you!
Hi Carl, I'm sharing this with a group of my students while we are all housebound during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hope you don't mind! Eimear (lecturer in ITT, Kerry, Ireland).
This is a really informative video. I was totally new to the concept and I learnt and applied it by seeing only this video. Please make more videos on other frameworks.
I noticed that between Stage 2A and 2B it went from identifying intervention functions that could be appropriate for the target behaviour, to specifying a type of intervention (mass media video) to apply in Stage 2B. So when you got to stage 2B you already have something in mind. Did you skip a step? i.e. identifying specific interventions you could potentially use and choosing the most appropriate? What if you don't know which specific intervention(s) you're going to use prior to this process and you're using the matrix in Stage 2 to try and come up with some ideas. Is there a list of various different specific interventions you could use? E.g. doorstepping campaign, social media campaign, visual prompts e.g. posters/flyers?
This is the clearest explanation of this model that I have seen, thanks so much!
