- One of six TV specials featuring the cast of "Degrassi High," talking to Canadian youth about social issues. I'm not sure exactly when this aired on CBC in Newfoundland, but based on the commercials I edited out, it was some time in the mid-nineties.
Sadly, the host of this episode, Neil "Wheels" Hope, himself suffered from alcoholism and died way too young.
Neil hope was a legend
thank you for putting this video up. by the way I'm Nathan i enjoyed being interviewed by Neal we did become friends and i do miss him
Hey greetings from a degrassi fan living in Spain but from England, I want to visit Canada and America, have you visited America?
I got told neil hope was a great guy
They should have never stopped these types of shows for children. They relate and take heed better hearing this from their peers.
RIP Neil… I was surprised to find this Gem…. I forgot all about it Thank You for Uploading ❤
It's so sad and infuriating of what happened to the girl who ended up in a wheelchair and her mother who was killed from a car accident caused by a drunk driver. Also there's a high school series in the UK similar to Degrassi called Grange Hill where 4 characters had a drinking problem. One was Trevor Cleaver from 1989 when Degrassi Junior High had finished and Degrassi High had begun, another one is Joanna Day who had it in 1997 to 1998, another character is Mr Robson who had it in 2000 and the last is Maddie Gilks who had it in 2002.
This dope. I was born in 1992 so cool !
Alcohol kills memories
There’s nothing wrong drinking alcohol, just as long you drink responsibly and don’t abuse yourself.
Yeah some people drink to drink their pain away or get away from things trouble in life, but I drink beer and alcohol regularly as I don’t a problem or reason to drink more than I need to...
alcohol killed Neil Hope ...
@@stingperm no it killed his father. Neil
Did have a drinking problem but he died due to complications from
Diabetes.
the girl at 1:38 looks just like Kathleen
And the girl before her resembles Melanie
@@frmdatune2dapark712 I feel like it’s their siblings
4:15 I wonder where this girl is today…
why does Wheels call it "olchahol"?
Probably his Canadian accent. He had the strongest accent on the show.
@@adrianpink8144 he also sounds like a newyorker in my opinion
