I've been around rock since the mid sixties. First concert was the Beatles in 1965, then most of the British bands up to the big one in '69 at Woodstock. In all I've seen 365 major concerts. Started playing guitar in '72. People like David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and many others shaped the way I wanted to play. But I could never nail the vocals. I stumbled on to Myles by accident. A concert with Alter Bridge, Mark Tremonti on guitar. There was a moment when Myles did a solo performance of Watch over you. That suddenly crystalized for me how vocals should be. The emotion was real. The story became my story. I wanted to aspire to that level of excellence. The gift he gives is priceless. You are touched by his interpretations of the songs. I'm an Elton John fan and for years thought no one could do it better than Elton on a Bernie Taupin song. I was wrong. This is astonishing. Where it is merely good brings out emotions you didn't expect to have, where it is reaching shows that Myles knows he can expand the experience for the audience. I will never be able to achieve what he does with such casual and smooth delivery, but I can try and he has already made me a better performer. The greatest compliment one musician can pay to another is to express the awe that comes from being a part of his performance through listening. I'm sure Myles doesn't see these comments, but maybe there is someone who has a connection to him that can share the way he has touched us with his magic. He is quite simply one of those performers that you recognize his greatness and that he deserves a place at the table with the very best.

All the bullshit that is played today they (radio and record companies)leave so many great musicians off to the side. But my time and my money will be saved and spent on myles and other great musicians that have a true purpose..greetings sir and a shout to you from houston

Incredible. One of the biggest reasons why Myles' performances are always great is because he lives by the advice he gives singers who are starting out... he once said to put your entire soul into every song; that way it will become yours. Myles just shed a whole new light on this song for me by doing exactly that.
Myles Kennedy has by far become my favorite musician of all time. He's so gifted and shows so much passion for playing music compared to other kinds of artists and bands nowadays. I know there's a lot of talent out there don't get me wrong cause I love a good variety of music, but to me over the past 6 years Alter Bridge has grown to be one of my favorite bands ever! Being that my second concert ever was Alter Bridge in Seattle back in February, I wanted the concert to never end! If you're reading this Myles Kennedy, Mark Tremonti, or anyone, Thank you so much to musicians and artists like you for being the inspiration that has impacted my life in a way where I want to show my gift to the world. You have no idea what kind of impact people like you have on individuals like me. FYI, it would be the coolest thing ever if Myles Kennedy did a cover of "Seasons" by Chris Cornell! Still probably my favorite Chris Cornell song ever.

As Myles sang this to the UK folks, I felt pretty special. I am the right age and an American, so I was one of the few in the audience that not just knew it, but lived that time, even the part about in the back of a station wagon... driving on to a new world. I sang every word, tears streaming down my face... feeling like he was singing just for me.

I found out about Myles just shy of a year ago. I'm trying to catch up for lost time by listening to all of Myles I can (solo or with Alter Bridge). A voice like his comes around so rarely that you take it all in and enjoy.

Very nice arrangement. My experience with Elton John as a child was the same, except we drove a wood paneled station wagon. This song and Tiny Dancer are forever engrained in my brain. I used to lie awake at night with a transistor AM radio under my pillow. The songs I heard during that period have never left me.

love how he can take any song and or melody and just make it his own and imbue his absolute soul into his music..there truly are not enough words to say how inspiring and spiritual miles's performances are..he is truly a once in a lifetime musician in every way..because he has been able to transcend any sort of genre designation, because his music is for everybody..a classic example would be to watch the myriad of song reaction videos here on youtube..especially for the song blackbird..people of all different musical tastes..who watch one of his performances of that song .especially live from wembley..and there reactions are all about the same..there moved..and quite a few to tears.he is one of those rare talents that has that kind of gift.this world is blessed with his presence.he is unquestionably one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time
