"I'm just a notch in your bed post but you're just a line in a song" is one of my absolute favorite one liner lyrics of all time. It really just tells a whole story in 1 sentence.
I was in my 30s and I went to Vegas to be with my stepmom and 2 of my nephews and my oldest nephew his name was Frankie and he was 18. We decided to go out and drive around. We love to cruise the town and I said we have to stop and get this CD and I played this song over and over the whole night and he said he dreamed about that song and couldn't get it out of his head. I am currently in a nursing home since last August and I'm waiting to have hip surgery (I feel old) I'm watching MTV and this song reminds of that night. My nephew accidentally over dosed 11 days after his 30th birthday 5 years ago and I miss him so much
My friend nick who passed away 10 years ago.......This was his favorite song and band !!! RIP bro ill never forget you and will listen to this song on your Birthday every year !!!!
Nothing will ever feel as good as me being in middle school and waking up for school and this coming on mtv every morning before the bus and how happy this song made me. I’m 31 now and times were so simple back then.
When I was 13 I saw this video on vh1 and begged my mom to let me quit ballet and play guitar and a few years later I was on tour with my first band. So many feels.
I think I'm the only middle schooler that listens to PATD, FOB, Green Day, Korn, 5FDP, Paramore, I'm the only one out of my friends that listens to rock music I've been listening to rock since I was a baby because my sister had her EMO faze. Now I'm 12 listening to all of those bands. Also I think I might be the only seventh grade EMO kid in my school. also I listen to other bands I just listen to too many.
Nothing beats the frenetic, kinetic energy of the band w their instruments in this video. It's total electric angst and it f&cking rocks. It's my hype song
Ahhh, yes. The Mid 2000's high school vibes. They used to play this on the various music video stations every single day before school(before RUclips). I was always more into metal like Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God, As I lay Dying, Trivium, Etc.. but something about fallout boy just caught my ear. So many Great memories (including some of my best friends) come to mind when I hear this song. It genuinely transports me back in time. Music is beautiful and powerful in that way. If you're reading this - I hope it does the same for you!
Would really appreciate it if you could check out my bands latest demo. We cover this song at our shows. Pop punk from the UK ruclips.net/video/lxdWngfS7XU/видео.html Much love

I've been searching for this music for 16 YEARS, since i was 8 yo! the only thing I remembered was that yellow wildlife alert sign and that the music became my favorite in the first and only time i heard it. I didn't even remembered the music anymore, just kept searching for it. Just found it, and it feels like paying a debt with my 2005 me. And to re-discover my love for this music.... it feels great!
It always feel good when you discover a song that you always play in your head but never know the title. It was the same when I discover Dance Dance by FOB. I heard it when I was in my junior high and don’t know any lyrics beside Dance dance lol had no idea that was the title and only discover it when I’m in senior high school. Been a fan ever since
I just found this song the other day. I'm 53, and I'm only 18 years behind the times. Think it is a great, rocking tune with catchy lyrics that are hard to understand. Perfect!
I'm an old guy. The last 10-15 years or so, I've been a bit underwhelmed by many music groups. This was the first song I every heard by Fall Out Boy. I immediately knew the young kids can still rock. I'm now a huge fan of this group. As long as young kids are making music like this...I have hope. Great band.
This song was made back in the 2000's gramps, but although scarce you can still find indie and inderground bands that continued the 2000's alternative movement to this day
@@aleatoriano8276 Nothing But Thieves, Arctic Monkeys to some extent,Twenty One Pilots (although a bit more poppy) are the ones that come to mind immediately. Honestly, the beautiful thing about music is the fact that stuff made twenty years ago sounds justs as good technically as new releases, so I usually just listen to bands like Muse, Interpol, Jimmy Eat World, Ash, old AM stuff, etc. Some of these bands still perform their old songs live!
As a 4 year old when I first learned this song I couldn't talk very well so I learned to say, "We're going daa daa ina ealia raaaa and sugaaa were gaaa daa swinging" And I used to think those were the actual lyrics. I would sing that at like 8 years old not knowing who it was by or what song it was, just the lyrics stuck with me throughout these years.
Satan Wonders SAME!!! It used to play on the radio along with other songs when I was 4 too! So I learnt some of the lyrics and just 2 and a half years ago I found this song and a couple others I remember
Yaashna Punia My sis taught me the actual lyrics and even though I was 10 I was an internet baby so I looked up the lyrics and here I am 5 years later enjoying FOB more than I do breathing. xD
This music video will forever be super nostalgic for me. I used to watch it with my dad a lot when I was around maybe 10-11 years old. I’m 16 now and it’s still one of my favorite songs. I’m also only 1 year older than this song lol
ten years ago, i saw this comment and it inspired me to never turn this song off... partially deaf, havnt left my room in ten years.. still havnt figured out what hes saying... one day ill decipher it...
This video is old as me my dad was young when he had me and he used to play this song alot of times now i come across this and realize i love this song
I took my daughter and her friends to your concert at UCF Orlando about 17 years ago. She's now 30. I'm a die hard hippie rocker, and truly love your music. I also appreciated that you thanked the parents for taking their kids to the concert. "What good boys!" Love, yo mama Melanie
crazy how one of my earliest memories is me wanting a "Fall Out boy hat" man.. i was like 4-5 there i just turned 23 so its kinda crazy to me also let me add this is definitely one of the first RUclips videos I've seen
English isn't my native language, but I'm glad to see ( based on the comments) that this song is hard to understand even for native English speakers. Everytime I "sing" this song, my wife thinks Im having a freaking seizure.
yes, this is partly due to the fact that the phrases used are not that common, and also the way he pronounces things in this particular song. Don't worry and keep singing, I'm sure it's great or at the very least quite funny.
Hi im the 90' from Indonesia.. Leaving comment here wish that a few months or years later somebody can like this and remind me back... Im on oldies spree 90-2010 song
I'm absolutely terrible at picking out song lyrics. Like almost all songs sound like random sounds just following a pretty melody to me.... But I've pretty much always understood every word of this song and was actually thinking about that before I scrolled down and saw all these comments in this vein. Maybe Patrick Stump and I share a similar undiagnosed hearing disfunction?
This song takes me back to the good old days of my late preteen and early teen years, one of those eras of my life that I'd always love to go back to. I still love blasting this song today on a regular basis.
Cody overly lied and said I was a child pervert to try and get me kicked out of my house and the funny thing is I would have moved out of the house anyway if I had a girlfriend let me have a girlfriend and I'll move out of the damn house
@@dombraida7580 If you took the time to analyze current and classic songs you would know that this is a lie I have a feeling that you are not critical of music and you are merely a consumer without opinions.
poisenbery No I have opinions but when we look at a time with nostalgia glasses we only see the good. There is plenty of garbage that came out in the 2000s
I want to go back to '05 so badly. Edit: I’m seeing all the comments from people who were just born or where toddlers. Just for reference, I was 10 years old. Unfortunately I didn’t catch this song when it debuted. I caught it one afternoon during spring break when it was on repeat at my best friends house back in 2005. My best friends gothic tween sister was playing this channel and this song just came on. I can tell you, times were more complicated and less convenient for adults, but they accepted it because they didn’t know anything about the technology we would have today in 2023. Life was good for us kids, because there was nothing to prevent us from living life by going outside and playing. The internet was bare bones, no RUclips, no Streaming Sites, the Internet would get disconnected when someone used the phone, and the only thing we could do was visit a few websites that had some flash games. Having a Computer at home wasn’t a necessity for kids. We could only watch what was airing on tv and adapt our schedules to it. Example: Say this song was scheduled to debut on April 4th, 2005 at 7pm on MTV. We had to remember to turn on the TV at 7pm, then switch to MTV to catch it. If we didn’t, then we were out of luck until next time. We literally could not record anything because our parents held onto the expensive camcorders. We had cheaper digital cameras, but I personally feel like they kept breaking. Time ran slower, because we were living life. Instead of playing with a smart phone and having time fly by. Personal: This song was an identity transition for me. In 2002 when I was 6 turning 7, We moved from the Bronx NYC, to Upstate NY. We came from an urban predominantly black/mixed/white community, and moved up to a suburban predominantly white community. The difference is so immense, sometimes I forgot I was only 40 minutes away from the big apple, and thought I was in another quiet state in an obscure town. Took me a little while to accept this type of music. Until 2005, This was the song that stuck with me. I guess because the video was very out there compared to what I was used to, and the band was really popular. This song is now representative of a huge part of my identity. When people ask about my childhood, this is the song I bring up.
I love this song! I can't wait for the English version.
