Disconnect the battery before you remove airbags.

Can the back of the CIM be taken off to try and give it a clean inside?

My 2008 SAAB 9-3 Liner does not have cruise control. Can i get the lever/stalk from the scrap and add it? Will it work? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
You can, but it will need to be programmed after you add it.

thanks for the video, however when I did this and reassembled it the airbag malfunction warning is now coming up. What the?
Is this part plug and play or does it require programming? Issue is "Stability control failure. Contact service" and several forums suggest this component.
Can donor part be used or have to be new? Mine is 2007, but have a 2008 parts car (blown motor) that I occasionally scavenge interior/electrical parts

It actually could be more useful. How about size of star bit he used to remove steering wheel not to mention details on how to move tool he used to remove steering wheel cover etc.
Cant get the face off the steering wheel. I have a Saab 9-3 03 and it doesn't seem to have the clips that this Saab does? The rest looks like a breeze. Any help on that? Please and thank you.

Yes. It is inside the steeringwheels center. The first thing he removes with the saab brand on it.
Don't forget to disconnect the battery cable before starting☺
You do something with something behind the steering wheel. Something pops off. No comments except a short laugh when this happens. Not an ideal way to communicate.

Does the new CIM need to be “married” to the car via tech 2 ?
