The nostalgia of buying one and breaking down in the middle of nowhere and have to figure shit out is the reason. I got one and broke down in aspen colorado. Got rid of it after a year. Good times
I owned a 2002 Discovery Series II. I bought in 2005 with 45000 miles on odometer. It was was certified pre owned. It was British Racing with tan leather interior and was loaded. It even had the grill guard and guards over the rear lights. I got a 2.9% interest from Rover because it was certified pre-owned. It was absolutely unreliable and expensive to maintain. I thought the car was beautiful, but once I got it paid off, I could not get rid of it fast enough. I had to put a second engine in it. At 62,000 miles it needed a short-block. I was getting it serviced only at the dealer and was not driving it hard. Of course, my certified warranty went out to only 60,000 miles and Rover would not work with me. Where I kick myself, I could have paid the dollars to extend the warranty to 100,000 miles. I would have paid for that warranty many times over had I done it, because of its mechanical needs.
I literally have that truck literally right now I'm sitting in it and it looks exactly the same way and the fact that I found this on OfferUp got it from an older couple it was in their name and it's fully clean everything is good with it as low mileage $146,000 everything works no issues I'll let you go things work and I love it I got the radio change of course and speakers a little better but that's really it not too much keep it classic and it's a dark blue wish I could show it on you but it is a fun car to drive thanks for reading if you did and God bless you and I hope you guys that read this go far in life and hopefully I get to cross paths with you or our family in one way love you brothers and sisters
Just got one 2002 with 140k KM. Head gasket seems to be fine so far but there’s a slight leak from the valve cover due to age of the gasket Wish me luck on this journey everyone 🤞
@@blakewilliams9642 I can believe it! Sometimes, the worst can also surprise you! I had a, *cough cough* 2003 Jaguar X-Type 2.5 AWD with a 5-speed manual. I was told that it’ll be the absolute WORST car you’ll ever buy. Ended up being the best car I’ve ever owned! I put 200,000 miles on it, never had an engine or transmission failure, even the AWD system worked flawlessly. Just kept maintenance up and it ran like a top! To this day, no one believes me.
Had one from new and 20 year later it’s still providing good service! I took it around Scandinavia when it was 18 years old and up inside the artic circle and many other adventures! The Problem is with RUclips is you do get so many wonderful little stories about Land Rover!!!

So your saying it’s not worth getting one then?
@@thomasjones4306 You've gotta look at the history of the maintenance of it. Alot of them are in roughhhh shape.
@@thomasjones4306 steer clear of any old European cars if you have no mechanical experience or don’t know how to work on the car

Best of luck!
how has it gone?
We had one back in the day
The nostalgia I had watching this vid
How to clean out the sunroof in the front seats?
You know I had a feeling that the interior looks nice can I call the interior color beige
Yesss love that version of the discovrey
Could the rear seats recline backwards for more comfy sitting position?
They don't
No they don't 🤣🤣
I just got on exactly the same shape for 1400.00
I bought that exact car it’s the same one with the crack in the front bumper and dent by the back taillight
But the question is
Is it reliable and good for daily driving?
No. Quite the opposite.
I mean, it’s a 20+ year old Land Rover. All bets are off. I’d lean towards no.
Great vehicle, You need to oil the underside before it rots away on you. The rear frame looked pretty bad.
отличный обзор и отличная машина, спасибо!
I have only been driven in a Land Rover Discovery once I think it was back in 2002.
the best most unreliable vehicle ever made
Lol. That’s a good way of putting it!
@@NeighborhoodCarReviews I've owned 3 of them... the last one got me good.

Looks like an air leak in the power steering system.
Greite
So much rust underneath!
I wouldn’t expect anything less from a 20 year old Land Rover, if I’m honest.
@@NeighborhoodCarReviews I have a chance of getting a 2002 /144k miles for $2400 don’t know much about these suvs . Want it for off road purpose only
