My father bought a Discovery 2 Td5 in 1998 (was one of the first D2 in Portugal) and everyday that goes by, i love it even more. Just like you said, I look at it and all the good memories from vacations and trips come to my mind and it's such an amazing and versatile car that I just can't get rid off, no matter what. COngratulations on you're D2, it's really beautiful, well-equiped and in very good shape!
Going down the Disco rabbit hole as I do every now and again. Some day I'll pick one up. Glad I came across your video. Well presented and awesome piece of family history you have there. Cheers!
Great color, I hope you keep the truck in your family for a long time! I have a 2002 SD that was original purchased from somewhere in New York and it has the exact same sunroof setup as your Disco, so maybe our trucks are related! I believe the sunroofs these use are not the factory Land Rover sunroof as it doesn't seem to be prone to the leaking issues so fingers crossed that keeps a few of the issues at bay lol. Cheers from New Jersey!
Hi Alex, your D2 looks great! Thanks for the info. What mix did you use to resort the plastics planning to do them also. And where did you get the oil?
Man, that is a beautiful Disco 2. The cd changer is under the drivers seat in the UK, and it is a pain to get to, but good sound! Plastics drying out is not such a problem in the UK! And the roof liner usually drops because of the leaking sunroofs, but the seals are replaceable. That car is a keeper. Good luck with it!
Thank you so much! My mom loves it. She’ll likely keep it forever. The humid Florida climate contributes to the need for a plastic and headliner restoration. Otherwise it’s a beautifully preserved car. Thank you again!
@@AlexBeras My pleasure. It's a treat to see a non-rusty Disco! It's usually wall to wall rust under most cars over here! It killed my first Disco but the second one I bought is older but better! Comes down to decent metal in the end.
Hey Alex,Hows the leg room in the drivers seat? I am play with the idea of buying one as an off road toy but I am 6'5, it looked a little cramped for you during this clip..
It is borderline close! It is a little cramped, as with all Land Rovers from this period, but you can live with it. It’s not friendly to longer legs, but it can be done!!
Hi Alex Beras you have the beautiful car. I have one Disco II 2000, but it dosen't recognize the control key and I don't know what happen with it, Do you recomend me something about that, please? I don' have the key code Thank you
with the key fob, it has to be programmed. Before I got it fixed, I manually locked and unlocked it. If you could live with it, and everything works, it won’t interrupt any functional operations.
I was given a blessing of a 2003 discovery with only 126,000 miles. I'm restoring whatever I can find she might need an A pillar y hff e piece across the middle under windshield wiper arms a decal for the back handle. I think I will have to do the headliner it's perfectly clean but says yes.it has everything else. I have DVD screens behind both front seats. I need to look under the drivers seat there iui s a box there. I don't k pw if that's a CD player. I don't bv think so
Awesome video and great presentation! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome car, currently restoring mine! Love the idea with a suede headliner, going to do that with my build
Adds a great touch! The upholsterer suggested it as a no cost upgrade. Great decision!

Amazing car and video.

I own a 2000 D2 in Oxford Blue that is in great shape but man yours is pristine! Good to see it getting the care it deserves.
Thank you!! My parents currently have it in Florida doing an amazing job preserving it!
Great review! I hope you keep it alive.

Thank you!! Mom has great taste!
Great video and hi from 🇬🇧 and from the county of KENT, probably to do with being the garden of England for the paint colour 😊
Thank you! I love this but if information that further explains the origins of the naming! Thank you for sharing 😁!

Yes of course- Linseed Oil, Vaseline, Aloe. Wipe dry after two hours!

I just sold my 06 silverado to restore my dad's 02 land rover discovery I miss the truck but I know this is going to be worth more than my truck
They are definitely great trucks!
When it comes to Am radio Inside The Land Rover discovery that can be a little fuzzy
Oh most definitely!! I just stick with CD’s and Cassette’s! 😂

Like how much should I budget for this type of car ?
It changes daily, but I think anywhere between 10-15K gets you a nice example.
Damn...
Happy new year my brother. I want to get a car like this from the US, how much would it cost ? Can you help me ? Am in Nigeria.
Happy new year!! Good ones are going up, but they are still quite affordable compared to Range Rovers from the period.
Do you still have this car with you ?
Thankfully the car is still in the family. My parents daily drive it in Florida!
amazing. great video.......is possibile you send me the formula please. :)
Lots of aloe!!! That’s the trick!!
How many miles are on the odometer
I believe it has just over 70,000 miles.
@@AlexBeras Not bad my little box car has 108,000 miles
I like to hear I talk radio station inside the Land Rover 710
