@Channel07 , ah, but narrow passageways ensure that more skill is needed, and, to be honest, all good shooter games have boss battles that are tedious in nature.
I know a few youngsters who call themselves 'gamers', I'll put on the r-type's, the ghouls n ghosts etc and they can't even pass the first level after 30-40 attempts. I felt like something was off in Final 2’s Fire Cask Factory but didn’t catch it till I saw this: the part where the entire stage closes in leaving only a small area open.
Wonder if they couldn't figure out how to piece that section together for Final 2. You do begin right at the Factory's start instead of the short journey to the "start point", skipping the crusher section.
The final boss doesn’t appear to be much different the 2nd play through than on the 1st. But then again, I’ve never made it to him on the 2nd time (the farthest I’ve ever gotten was stage 3 in advanced mode).
Mighty fine work especially for beating boss rush on stage 5 advanced using underpowered ship. I used your run for reference since your ability to recover is awesome. Is there any spot where you can't recover after dying in this game? Checkpoint in stage 4 boss is especially brutal for me.
The worst checkpoints are all in the final stage, in the areas where those bugs spill out of the portals. They can take an obscene amount of damage and not die, so they just end up flooding the screen. There are probably a few others (stage 4 boss like you mentioned) but it's been so long since I've played it I can't remember very well.
I never knew the shadow force was that powerful. You fucking demolished the stage 4 boss in no time flat. I can rarely even get past that one without save states
20:00 came here to get tips after it kicked my butt for 2 hours straight. I'm none the wiser as I know I'll not be able to get there fully powered up. It's not the Boss - it's those spark things on the tracks that get me.
+DrThunderous9x Yup, recovery is very hard on the last couple of stages of loop 2, especially 2-5 and 2-6. I've successfully pulled off a few recoveries in 2-5, but the beginning of 2-6 is probably the hardest spot to recover from in the entire game.
+Pegboy yea those walking scarab things move so fast that the only reliable way of dealing with them is luring them into the walls, not exactly easy when they're everywhere and the background is pushing you every direction
