I have two MK's, bought in 2008 from LA music in Toronto. Sgd $550 each, a hybrid special , Patriot with Rockfield humbuckers, Korean made and still have it. Nice demo as usual, thanks Jon.
Oh my ! What a beautiful guitar and such exquisite tonality. Perhaps more to do with the driver than the vehicle ?... I would suspect 🙂... and yet, the driver always performs at his / her peak when the vehicle responds to unique ability to implement control to the maximum. When the musician and the instrument are in total unity, pure magic happens 🙂 It would seem, to me ( but not me alone ) that Jon can take the wheel of any vehicle and drive it to the max ! ❤ x
That’s on classy HSS Jon. You have the best of both worlds with that bridge in single coil and humbucker mode. I’ve always been curious about Michael Kelly. Nice to know they sound and play as well as it looks. Very interesting Jon - cheers 😃👍👍👍🎸🎸
Really dig the looks and affordability of many MK guitars...especially the 53DB and this 630P. Love your reviews of them....BUT I'd like them more if they were't 8.5lbs ! Been staring at the 59 Thinline...love the two finishes they offer but really love the fact their around 6lbs ! Old folks like lightweight guitars. LOL 😉
I was taking a long hard look at some of their Tele models a few years ago. I liked all the pickup selection options, with series/parallel, etc. But, in the end I went with a Sire T7 instead. I’m sure the MK’s are nice, but the Sire is stunning!
You know Jon, every time I listen to your playing it sounds so familiar ... but I could not place the playing style and tone you create .....but it struck me today I was listening to Larry Carlton ''deep into it'' album and some more ... you have the same kind of tone, when you play those clean solo parts, also the way you frase your soloing has a lot of L.C. in it....maybe it's a compliment maybe not but had to mention it...because I dig your playing✌
I was always curious, after making a review, can you keep all these beauties? If so, how many do you own, or what you do with them? Thank you Jonathan, perfect playing as always🥰
Really pretty guitar. I too have developed a "thing" about string trees...and the fact (which I have learned from you and others) is not really necessary if you have locking tuners. Interesting how so many still keep them on the headstock if they have those tuners. Personally I think they distract from the aesthetics...and if they're not necessary, then why ? Curious about how crucial it is to replace a synthetic nut if you have locking tuners...do bone nuts really make a difference ? Anyway as always dear Jon your playing is full of passion..and it shows ! ❤ Love the reviews but more importantly I love watching and listening to you play ! ☺
Some builders do prefer added tension of E & B strings (like Tom Anderson, they guitars have staggered locking tuners but Tom still prefers string tree on the top 2 strings)
The MK seems to be in the same ballpark as a Cort 280 Select and Sire S3. All affordable guitars, that can be worth a upgrade. If you're looking for a guitar in this pricerange, I would test a few competitors.
Jon, doesn't matter if you are playing a $5k guitar or one for $6oo ... you make them sing.. Have to ask, at 3:45 you are getting great sustain, what amp and effects are you using in your effects chain? Cheers!
Nice review !!! 400$ its a bargain. Can you try to review the new firefly ??? They are only avaible in the usa ,and there are the raysta also only avaible in the usa. You could try to get one free for a review ? For the asian market you deserve it ❤
The only thing I disliked about my MK Strat (I have ‘60s Custom HSS) was those cheap frets, they felt cheap and scratchy even after a good hour of polishing
Subtitles available in English, Chinese, German, Spanish, Italian, Indonesian, Thai and Japanese!

Awww thank you sweetheart.. I sometimes wonder why string trees are still around lol

you should!
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Yes, because I think the Cort might tick a lot of boxes.

Please check the description...Thanks!!!
Git this one, thinking in swap the bridge pickup for a seymour jb and the neck one a fender noisless. What do you think?
Your choice brother ✌️❤️
I would have that over a comparable Mexican Fender. I will just put Duncan JB at the bridge.
Cool
