Lonestar got the first laugh, but John Rich certainly got the last laugh. Considering where Lonestar is now in 2024 and what John has done with Big & Rich and his solo career, firing him was one of the biggest mistakes and stupidest decisions Lonestar ever made, period. And the entire world knows it. John Rich especially got the last laugh on Lonestar after Richie McDonald gave the band the middle finger - twice!!
I used to go to a country bar when I was young and they’d play this one. The ladies would come out and do a line dance. This song is a banger for sure.
The album's second single; "You Walked In" was released on August 26, 1997. Written by Robert John "Mutt" Lange and Bryan Adams. Steven Goldmann directed the song's music video. This was also the band's last video feature bass guitarist and co-lead vocalist John Rich, before he left Lonestar for a solo career in 1998, and joining Big Kenny to form Big & Rich.

Love 90s country! My favorite decade! I can't believe it's been 25 years since this song was done! Where has time gone? Country music needs to get back to sounding like this! I quit listening to new releases around 2006 or so. Country isn't country anymore 😔.
I have fond memories of this song when I was deployed to Iraq. We were in the rec room playing pool and this came on. Me and all the other guys had big sing along to this song
Rich played Bass for most of their singles. The biggest one I can think of that Rich sang lead on was "Paradise Knife and Gun Club" which also happens to be my favorite, most underrated Lonestar song
This song reminds me of my beautiful wife Monica Went to the Lonestar concert last night. Monica got a back stage pass and we had our picture taken with them. I told them that I was not staying for the concert if they didn't sing this song. They did and dedicated in to Monica and me in the show.
I don't know about them models but one of those band members is one of the guys that's currently in Big and Rich. I cant beleive I never spotted it before. Then again, Last time I saw this video was WAYYYY before Big and Rich. I was still in grade school.
The part where he sings "You know I love everything they do" is the exact same hook as "The best thing about being a woman.." from Shania Twain's "Man! I Feel Like a Woman". And no wonder - both songs were written by Mutt Lange. Bryan Adams also has a version of "You Walked In" he released as a B-side, by the way; look it up on RUclips.
Nice story, I did a dedication to my EX when we were together, it was Sammy Kershaw's Queen of my doublewide trailer, and she took it as an insult. Good Day Sir.
I remember when Lone Star got started they had John Rich as their bass player!!! The reason for him leaving wasn't for the fact of them having two lead singers on one of the songs on the first two albums!!! I'd think that country radio liked Richie McDonald as the lead singer for Lone Star!!!! So did the record comoany execs!!!!
its funny cuz i saw them in kansas on ft riley back in 98 summer i think it was either labor day or memorial day cant remember... and then my dad did a shoot with big and rich about 5 or 6 years later and got me there autograph i was like that dude was with lone star first
no he wasn't, I know a lot of the biographies online say that he was, but no. I know this because it was my friends father which his name is Chris, not John Rich. I do not know people in the singing business, but I do know one person that ever came close and that was Chris, which he was part of Lonestar. never trust biographies online, they are not always accurate.
it is john rich of big n rich trust me i do know i have the tapes to prove it its john with lonestar not your friends dad john was with them from 92-98
John Rich is the bass guitarist in this, Richie is the lead singer of this, you're mistaken my friend. But, it is the same John Rich who formed Big and Rich, with Big Kenny.
it is. John started by lonestar. I have all there autographs. I think lonestar is still around but not like they used to be. tequila talkin is another song with John Rich I believe
Someone please answer me...it's been driving me crazy. The lead singer here is john rich right? He's the one that left. Does ANYONE else think that his voice and Richie McDonalds voice (the regular lead singer) sound the same??? Listen to this song, then listen to any other lonestar song, it sounds like the same guy. Just wanna know if maybe I'm missing something...? Compare this song to a song like "already there" or "Mr mom".

They need to make more songs and guys like that. It's like they broke the mold for the good ones.
Let's show them how to build a legacy for real !! ❤❤❤❤

Sux. The helmet cams are just stupid. I suppose if you're target audience has a short attention span it's what you have to do these days.

Same here! Lol and im a big john rich fan!
Omg John Rich!? I never knew he was in lonestar till 98!
Yep
When Lonestar was still a 'hat' act. John Rich still is, as part of Big & Rich.
John was here on Saturday night. But I didn't get to see him. Sorry John. 😭
Also, this was written by Bryan Adams and Mutt Lange.
Is it just me, or does the director lady look like Chely Wright ? Gorgeous.... Lonestar is great too.
John Rich ooooo my my!

Richie McDonald and John Rich shared the vocal responsibility. They sounded like a Brooks And Dunn type thing.

Man I haven't heard this song since it was a hit, way back in like 1997. I always thought it was Collin Raye.

"You Walked In" was written by Bryan Adams and Robert John "Mutt" Lange.

He really wasn't a country guy would be my guess. Not a bad artist at all, but I couldn't really see him doing this song.
