A great film of a wonderful journey. I took my partner to Venice for a significant-number birthday over 20 years ago and we came back on the Orient Express (in those days via the Dolomites, Brenner Pass and Innsbruck). For the first and only time in our lives, we looked at the Brunch menu and said, "Not lobster again!" LOL

Wow. Absolutely breathtaking 😍 As a keen fan of Poirot, I have always wanted to travel on this very special train, however that $20,000 price tag is a little steep 😆 Thank you both, especially Millie, another fab video on my favourite train in the world. I look forward to the British Pullman review!
Absolutely right, but to be fair the 20,000 is for the most expensive option. That's not to say that the other options are cheap, but they are more affordable.
@@robotlover4 Of course you have to consider, that even the cheapest trip will set you back a couple of thousand Euro/Dollars and you might pay quite a hefty sum for drinks, as there won't be a free champagne-refill I am afraid :)
@@Box0rz I would say it depends. I travel alone all the time so I can't split the cost for a cabin with a partner which means I would easily be set back 8000 Euro if you add drinks and the other necessary spendings, like plane tickets and hotel rooms before and after the trip. I would argue that's quite a large amount and I would still share my toilet with a stranger, making it much less luxurious. Could I afford the trip? Sure! But in the other hand it's a huge amount for a short trip that maybe better invested in a much longer journey. In the end it's a matter of personal preference.
I always thought the orient express was just made up for the movies but that train is beautiful. It’s definitely worth price if one can afford it. Thanks for video. One day I should be so lucky to travel on the best transportation in the world.
@@freelancelady Yes, but this is travel in a style nobody else does,at such a level. To be able to have that kind of experience just once in your life is amazing 👏
Definitely not made up, this used to be how the European elite travelled before Aeroplanes became fast, comfortable and reliable. The most luxurious sleeper-wagons and trains were run by the CIWL, founded in 1876. The most famous was of course the Orient Express, (other famous lines were the Nord Express and Sud Express) but this was pretty much the way to travel internationally in Europe around the turn of the century. You could, given you had the funds, travel between Europe's larger cities on trains at close to this level of luxury (without the modern amenities like Air conditioning) and on to some exotic destinations like Constantinople, Baghdad, CIWL even ran trains to Vladivostok and Manchuria for a brief moment before the Russian revolution. Of course, some particularly ostentatious people and heads of state would own their own railcars or even their own trains. (Like having a private jet rather than flying first class with Emirates or Qatar Airways) Quite a few royal carriages have been preserved across Europe. That train is a living piece of history, it's not just the luxury you pay for but the fact that the train is a century old, the experience of travelling the way it was in the 1920s. And for those that say 20.0000 $ for 28 hours is too much for a suite, a First Class suite on Emirates starts at 7.000 $ for a 6-7 hour flight.
"We're going on a proper adventure Millie!" 🤣 Idk why that was so funny to me. Cheers guys! I've recently discovered your channel & I've thoroughly enjoyed watching your travel adventures. Keep up the great work/fun!
Lucky old Millie! You’re a true gentleman to her (and all others in your vids) - lovely to see. Your videos are so excellent and therapeutic! Keep it up
The Train passes by my office on its Verona-London route, everytime i see it rolling by im impressed of how beautiiful the train looks from the outsude.
I managed to catch a glimpse of this incredible train while I was waiting mine in VE Mestre Station, Italy, district of Venice. It took a short break so I had the chance to take a look at the inside from the many windows. I could see the expensive wood finitures, the Kitchen wagon who was working on dinner, and some passengers cabins. People around me were taking pictures and then, I still wonder how, two Japanese ladies donning two lovely yukatas came out to have a brief walk and limber up their tired legs. It looked like an otherwordly experience!
Had the good fortune to have traveled on the “Orient Express” accompanied by my 22-year old nephew. We experienced magnificent meals in each of the 3 Restaurant Cars situated midway in the consist of the 17-car train. We also were informed by our Cabin Steward, Patrick, that the movie “Murder On The Orient Express” was filmed in the carriage in front of ours. The fresh Salmon dinner was the best I have ever had! Truly a remarkable experience I’ll never forget!
Congrats on getting onto the top 50 trending list! As always a brilliant video! Your videos keep me going and I appreciate it so much. Millie’s great- keep her!
It's staggering to me that luxury of this level exists on a train of all things. Like of course it is the Orient Express, THE luxury train, but to see on suit bathrooms with showers and a double beds and THREE restaurants just blows the mind.
yeah, but even if I were to become a billionaire, I'd never go on it, as my wife is disabled and the train is 0 accessible. I don't blame the train, of course, it's just that I'd never go on a trip without her, unless it were purely for work.

I saw the Venice Simplon some 10 years ago standing in Odense Denmark going south I belive. I recognized it immediately, and i was mesmorized. Now at the time I was a student, not that I can afford a ticket now either, but it was good to see that history and luxury still meet demand, even though 30 passengers probably wont even cover the wholesale Beluga budget on this tour. Thanks for the luxury adventure!

I like watching these videos but it's just very unrealistic. He says at 1:50 he is surprised he has been upgraded. I can assure you they do not upgrade you from a 2.5K room to a 20K room for no reason. Blatantly set it up with the train company beforehand then pretends he has no clue 😂😂
he explained at the end that he booked through his friend's travel agency. he was able to get the space available upgrade. promoting the train and the agency helps too
I want a Millie and a Trek Trendy doll you two are too adorable. 🙂 You showcased the Orient Express with class and proper respect. Loved your enthusiasm on getting the upgrade for someone so well travelled that was delightful to witness. Trek Trendy is by far the best travel site for dream travel.
Kudos to the people who conceptualised the Orient Express and actually made it a reality. Thanks to them countless people have enjoyed this unique experience.
How wonderful to see The Orient Express up close and personal because of you. When you think of all the movies and books written about this train you can't help but think this is a GOLDEN opportunity to see the incredible History of this train. Thank You, Trek. I have just subscribed to your channel and look forward to getting to know of your vibrant experiences....Thank You!
Just looked it up: The "classic" 5 nights trip on the Venice Simplon Orient Express from Paris to Istanbul in a Grand Suite like yours is GBP 55.000 per person. With all due respect: But a 9 nights transatlantic voyage from Hamburg to New York onboard Queen Mary 2 in a "Q1" Grand Duplex Apartment with 209m² is HALF that price ... As much as I would like to take a trip on the Orient Express ... but THIS is WAY too much money. But a great video nonetheless. Thanks for uploading and sharing your experience.
rarity and scale -the train carries about 200 people, the Cunarder takes about 2500 -the QM2 runs the transatlantic line about 12 times a year the VSOE traverses the OE Paris-Istanbul route about once a year. if you want to specifically do the actual OE route thats your only one-train option since the demise of the actual OE.
Ulrich Schmidt: Yes, but are you guaranteed a spot on a life boat should you need it or is that extra? There’s still some allure to hitchhiking if you’ve got a good thumb.
I LOVE Millie’s drip-you guys are an absolutely adorable couple! And I adore these vids…I’m saving up to send my parents on a train voyage like this. Just wonderful content!
Hahahaha, that mirror shower knob sequence was funny as hell. Amazing, that view of the mountains from an old European styled cabin looks like something from a fantasy movie! I really like your videos, I become so immersed to the point where I feel like I'm daydreaming about the experience.
I met my wife in Europe, she was from Malaysia and I was from the US. We were together for a month in Europe. We took the Eurotrain and then went to Switzerland and Paris for New Years and back to London. I absolutely loved the trains in Europe, but she did not, lol. I thought why take trains when you can fly faster. I really think the part she hated the most was that the train stations were not heated and we were both cold and freezing.
Oh my goodness, thank you so very much to both of you for sharing this wonderful adventure! It's long been a wish of mine to travel on this special train, I'm suffering from poor health so being able to share your journey was a gift. I hope you enjoyed Venice! Jo x

Nice to see some of the journey's end as the train makes its way to Santa Lucia station! I was there 7 years ago, though I travelled by bus from airport to historic Venice. Your views bring back happy memories ... though I will never be able to afford travelling on the Orient Express!!!
Man, I did London to Venice on the cheapest ticket I could get and it is still one of my fondest memories. The passage through the Alps is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. So envious you got to see them this way. Thanks for the video!

Hello, Will, from Halifax, Canada. I watched this video last night in my home theatre and it was as though I was on the train myself. Hugely entertaining. Made me smile when the employee took your hand as you stepped off the train. Now, that's class. Keep up the great work, Will.
Had to read that twice, there's a Halifax in England as well, I knew of the tradition in the USA of having British towns and city names but didn't realise there were similar ones in Canada too. Just read and it isn't directly named after the town but from the Earl of Halifax, who was Earl of our Halifax and it is why he had the name, which it makes it even more fascinating. Halifax is a pretty small town next to my larger city, rather excited it has this.
David that's for sure. I'm a lover of trains and have taken them for decades and now on the Amtrak when I go to get off there's not even a stool and they expect you to jump down the two and a half feet down--no matter what your ages or your gender or your situation --with no help with you suitcase. I pause and Shout out-- WHERE is the stool? p Possibly they will bring one over; throw it down; and leave again. YOU have to do it all on your own despite your age or gender. fin2ally I've grown to hate trains in America.
How wonderfully fun!!! I would take this any day over the best of the best air or sea carrier. Lovely meeting Millie. I only wish we could've heard from her, her thoughts and opinions. And her food choices would've been nice to see and hear about. I thoroughly enjoyed this segment with Millie. Nice to see you traveling with her. I'm new to your channel, just wondering what the NASA meaning is for you? Thank you for a delightful journey.
In the early days of the channel, Will always wore a NASA hoodie or other NASA branded clothing while he was traveling. It was so common that it became a bit of theme for the channel. Similarly, the “timbs” or timberland boots are another one of those themes
Once I saw the Orient express in Italy and I got to go inside the cabin of the locomotive and got a picture with some of the staff (I think it was the kitchen staff) even though I was boarding a train next to it.
Thank you for your out of the world post. I feel like I’ve participated in this once in a lifetime experience. I will never get close to travelling on this beautiful train but then we can all dream 💭 I guess.
I'm surprised at everyone calling this train "impressive" and "astonishing". What would be impressive is to take a train ride like that for around 1k-2k and make it affordable for the average consumer. But anything can be impressive if you make it cost enough. 2k could be better spent on an insane spec gaming PC which would bring you many more memories than a couple day 23k expense. Unless of course that 23k is chump change for someone.
The Orient Express is the ULTIMATE Train & Travel experience! and for you to have been able to be 'upgraded' to the Suite was the cherry on the cake! Bravo!

To see the interior of the Orient Express gives the impression of luxury beyond…a gem that is well taken care of for generations to come..thanks for sharing..🎉
Wow. Absolutely breathtaking 😍
As a keen fan of Poirot, I have always wanted to travel on this very special train, however that $20,000 price tag is a little steep 😆
Thank you both, especially Millie, another fab video on my favourite train in the world. I look forward to the British Pullman review!
Absolutely right, but to be fair the 20,000 is for the most expensive option. That's not to say that the other options are cheap, but they are more affordable.
@@michaelkores6860 thank you Michael. Definitely worth some research 👌
@@robotlover4 Of course you have to consider, that even the cheapest trip will set you back a couple of thousand Euro/Dollars and you might pay quite a hefty sum for drinks, as there won't be a free champagne-refill I am afraid :)
@@michaelkores6860 It’s not that much for a luxury trip to be honest. An adult with a 4k salary can easily afford that without much worry.
The production in your videos is so professional. Like I really feel like I’m watching the discovery channel. Pretty awesome!
Oh my word,I am in awe of the beauty and luxury of this renowned train. Thank you for a most beautiful video.
I always thought the orient express was just made up for the movies but that train is beautiful. It’s definitely worth price if one can afford it. Thanks for video. One day I should be so lucky to travel on the best transportation in the world.
There’s pictures of the original and a recreations you can find!
20,000 dollars for 28 hours that is too much money…think about all the places you can visit and travel to for that money…
@@freelancelady
Yes, but this is travel in a style nobody else does,at such a level.
Grinning from ear to ear and thanks for sharing. Even James West and Artemus Gordon couldn't top this!
Thom I'M confused. He was given a bill after the meal. I thought food was included ?🤔
@@ladybug5859 Hi Carole! I agree with you, in that all meals were indeed covered for both my 12-year old nephew and myself.
@@ladybug5859 most travel & experience things like this have included items and additional items. He probably order a few things that were extras.
I believe he ordered extra champagne, but as they were guests staying in one of the most expensive suites, it was 'taken care of"
Congrats on getting onto the top 50 trending list! As always a brilliant video! Your videos keep me going and I appreciate it so much.
Millie’s great- keep her!
That mountain view is breathtaking!
It's staggering to me that luxury of this level exists on a train of all things. Like of course it is the Orient Express, THE luxury train, but to see on suit bathrooms with showers and a double beds and THREE restaurants just blows the mind.
With that price tag having a choice of where to eat is imperative
yeah, but even if I were to become a billionaire, I'd never go on it, as my wife is disabled and the train is 0 accessible. I don't blame the train, of course, it's just that I'd never go on a trip without her, unless it were purely for work.
@@mariadocarmosobreira8323 i think they would solve that easily if you told them about your problem, such a luxurious train would do anything for their costumer's

One of these days, I'd love to see you review 'The Canadian,' the Toronto-to-Vancouver train.
Your enthusiasm really makes your videos extremely enjoyable.
The Orient Express has been on my bucket list for a while. It was great to see what the experience is like in the suite. I laughed to myself, however, when you thanked Millie for "putting up" with the filming. For such an upgrade, anyone should be willing to "put up" with whatever filming was required =D
Camera work is essential.
Hi Will, awesome, and lovely to see the beautiful Millie. Looked like a FAB trip. On my dream list. BTW, not to be gauche, but could you go over the tipping expected in such circumstances and help educate us plebians? Would be helpful for those of us who are uncertain as to the who/ how much, etc. Thanks. Very much enjoy your vids, bro. Cheers!
Thanks for the luxury adventure!
you have surpassed yourself - an amazing review, thank you so much. Now crossed the OE off my bucket list and saved £20k/ easier just to watch your videos :)
Thank you for your amazing channel.
Michael Jennifer: Yes, that seems to be true. But perhaps it was because Millie has more clout than he does to promote the OE?
Yeah but he did give a bit of an explanation and I think it was a 5k room. Nevertheless you very well might be correct.
he explained at the end that he booked through his friend's travel agency. he was able to get the space available upgrade. promoting the train and the agency helps too
I want a Millie and a Trek Trendy doll you two are too adorable. 🙂 You showcased the Orient Express with class and proper respect. Loved your enthusiasm on getting the upgrade for someone so well travelled that was delightful to witness. Trek Trendy is by far the best travel site for dream travel.
Brilliant train video and great experience🎥🚂. Cheers from Oxford, England
Kudos to the people who conceptualised the Orient Express and actually made it a reality. Thanks to them countless people have enjoyed this unique experience.
wow I have been binge watching you 3 the last two days. thanks xxx a feel good place.
Just looked it up:
The "classic" 5 nights trip on the Venice Simplon Orient Express from Paris to Istanbul in a Grand Suite like yours is GBP 55.000 per person.
QM2 which takes 2,695 people vs 174 on the OE hardly comparable mate.
@@ITSaPendragon You realize that the ship is huge while the train is very small by comparison. I would happily make the trade.
@@edennis8578 that's literally what i said....
rarity and scale
-the train carries about 200 people, the Cunarder takes about 2500
-the QM2 runs the transatlantic line about 12 times a year the VSOE traverses the OE Paris-Istanbul route about once a year. if you want to specifically do the actual OE route thats your only one-train option since the demise of the actual OE.
Ulrich Schmidt: Yes, but are you guaranteed a spot on a life boat should you need it or is that extra? There’s still some allure to hitchhiking if you’ve got a good thumb.

Jo x

Halifax is a pretty small town next to my larger city, rather excited it has this.
hi
David that's for sure. I'm a lover of trains and have taken them for decades and now on the Amtrak when I go to get off there's not even a stool and they expect you to jump down the two and a half feet down--no matter what your ages or your gender or your situation --with no help with you suitcase. I pause and Shout out-- WHERE is the stool? p
Possibly they will bring one over; throw it down; and leave again. YOU have to do it all on your own despite your age or gender. fin2ally I've grown to hate trains in America.
Neat to see another Haligonian in the comments!

For $20000+, that's the kind of luxury I would expect. What a wonderful train.
not worth it too much money , like WAY too much
For that much the meals should have been included!
