I played with this band in 1965 in Boston ma. They had changed the name to the five fascinates. The only name I recall was Paul the organ player. Good musicians, great guys. Good memories.
We're you in the band in 65 in the combat zone in Boston? Tha club was a place called Jerome's. If so I would sit in with you guys fairly regular, probably played your guitar. It's great to know someone from the band is still king. Mike
When I grew up it was Elvis, Cliff and the shadows. I don't know how I got to this song, but now I can't stop listening to it. Love the pianio player and the sax.
MAN , THIS IS SO COOL ! 75 yrs old and johnny & the hurricanes still blow me away . Music from our youth is so very important , It's still being used and enjoyed . rock and roll forever
I was 13 years old ,rock n roll was new and exiting feel good ,get up and dance nothing to worry about, just made us happy. Our generation was very lucky with all the great music through the late 50s 60s and 70s.
When my late baby daughter used to cry I would take her in my arms and hum this tune for her. She immediately settled down and fell asleep. Nothing else would pacify her. I miss her terribly every time I hear this.
Dear Mr Desmond, so very sad and touched to hear the passing of your baby girl. I am sure she is very happy now in God's domain looking down on you saying "don't worry papa..we will all meet one day. God Bless
I swing dance to this and other OTR&R hits, Boogie Woogie, and can cut a rug quite well for someone who is 76, all the women still want to dance with me, as I can still do all the moves.
I remember driving the circuit in Asbury Park NJ on a dollars worth of gas and my whole life ahead of me. Have to say there has been more laughter than tears since then...but don't drive much anymore....eat way to much ice cream....but this kind of music makes me think I will live forever!!!
I saw this group in the 60's when they toured England, this version of a fantastic tune is one of the best. I annoy my family by playing it on my piano, regularly.
Well, well, the original Johnny and the Hurricanes, and I don't care if they are miming! They had their own solid sound, the whirring sax and the old fashioned lead break. Many aspirant lead guitarists must have cut their teeth on J & H. Iconic instrumental rock group of the late 1950's.
Nice song... great composition... great performance... wereldhit... evergreen.. was in 1960 een hit in Vlaanderen... mooi.... schön... beautiful... bella cansion...
It's great isint it. They don't make em like that any more. One of the best instrumentals veterans what a wonderful name : Johnny and the Hurricanes. Love it.❤
OMG,,my brother just sent me this link,,this came out,7 years before I was born,,,but this has been one of my fav tunes, of all times,,can't stop playing it,,,thanks bro xxx😘
Saludos rockeros
I was twelve years old when this came out. What a time to be growing up. Better than this C rap so called music they've got today. I feel sorry for today's young.
Best memories of my young teenage years with my portable record player in my bedroom driving my mother crazy, years later she developed a strategy in response when I was playing "Question of Balance" or "Deep Purple in Rock" I got one warning to turn the music down around 10:30pm so I would drop the sound level from 10 to about 7, then 15 minutes later she would turn the main power switch off, that worked instant silence as my turntable stopped revolving, come to think of it that was probably the main reason I decided that I had to get married for my musical freedom!

The only name I recall was Paul the organ player. Good musicians, great guys. Good memories.
Actually, they called themselves The Facinators. They wanted to call the band The Hurricanes but Johnny's managers threatened to sue.

Agreed.
THE DECLINE STARTED IN THE EARLY 70'S, PEOPLE WITH NO TALENT WERE WRITING THEIR OWN SONGS.
Ich bin 76 Jahre alt, und es reisst mich immer noch vom Sessel!!! Rock vor ever!!
uns alle aus den alten Tagen 50er und vorher
Johnny and the Hurricanes made the Toledo OH area proud. The Beatles opened for them in Germany.
1番さいしように聴いたのが14歳の頃ですあれから50年以上たちますがちっとも色あせることの無い世界的名曲です私のオープニングナンバーです
This was the first time I ever heard a saxophone back in the 1960s and I've loved the sound ever since. Brilliant track !
Love the song. Pure rock n roll. Rock on brothers blessings Georgie..
I was 14 when this came. My family thought I had lost it. Played this about 20 time per night in m bed room...
Still enjoy it today.
Born in 1950, I remember this being the first song that really stuck in my head, and it still sounds great today!
The best combo of the era! Loved their unique sound with the organ and sax!

Many are the miles we have travel in the front seat of an old Ford Falcon listening to Red River Rock. Those ware the days-
Johnny and the Hurricanes always put me in a good mood! Love them!
This song was very popular when I lived in Worms, Germany 1959-1961 as a U.S. army brat. Brings back a lot of memories.

Waar blijft de tijd.
Ik was toen 9 jaar en werkte op de kermis waar alleen deze zalige muziek werd gedraaid,
Geniet er nog van
Used to skate to this, went skating last year, I am 73. Blew the bubblegummers away.
I swing dance to this and other OTR&R hits, Boogie Woogie, and can cut a rug quite well for someone who is 76, all the women still want to dance with me, as I can still do all the moves.
Bought this as a teenager still have it brilliant God bless the 60s
Still listening in 2023! Will be 60 y. o. next April! ❤
This music keeps me young even at 72 I'm still rocking.
in high school in 59 would sell my soul to go back and live it again

A great record from 1959 just before we entered the critical years of the 1960,s which turned out a decade everyone wants to go back to
This is the best rendition ever!
When we were young and music was music. What a wonderful time we lived through.
I saw this group in the 60's when they toured England, this version of a fantastic tune is one of the best. I annoy my family by playing it on my piano, regularly.
Keep playing Eileen
I live to tell the tale too
I remember their album with the VW Mini bus. One of my favorite groups from back in the late 50s.😎
I was sixteen and loved all the early Rock Songs, R& R died sometime in the early eighties, so all we have is these oldies, Balm for the SOUL!!
love it
The 50s was the best decade for music- country OR rock-n-roll.
The best rendition of this great song!
It was my favorite team! These songs were still "songs," their rhythm, melody!
Oldies but goldies 👍👍❤️❤️
Baja első zenekarainak játéka ezekkel a nótákkal voltak tele. Imádtuk mi tinédzserek! Szép volt!
Wow, the best song of my life!!!
the best song of my radio
reminds of my big brother JP... he's a great dancer & I was exposed to all the cool dance songs when I was little
It doesn't bring back memories for me but it mobilizes me
