I ordered the exercise bike on January 7th and it arrived on February 12th. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The box must have been tossed around quite a bit because one whole side of the styrofoam was destroyed, and the other side foam was cracked. The Two zip ties holding the handlebars had broken loose and handlebars were loose in the box. There are two small holes in the foam on the right side of the handlebars, I guess from rolling around inside the box. Assembly was straight forward and easy. I am 6 ft 5 in 220 lb and the handlebars and seating positions fully adjustable and work great, I'm getting full leg extension. The noise level is very, very low and acceptable. The adjustment knob for the pressure on the flywheel works well also. The exercise bike is very well made, sturdy and easy move around. This is my first exercise bike and will keep me in shape over the winter. Update 3/19/21: when removing the sticker from the wheel, make sure you remove any sticker glue also. I thought mine was clean but I was getting a slight noise from the glue. Once cleaned off, its super quite. Also the monitor didn't work, tracked it down to the pickup device wasn't in the hole. Once I moved in the hole, it works fine. Do NOT put it in until it touches or it will damage the pickup.
Mhm but for a lot of yall (who dont excersice very often) dont go over an hour or max an hour and 30 mins cuz your knee WONT like you . You'll have to stretch , and *slowly* build up the time . I got runners knee from cycling once lmao

Not motivated so was looking for some motivation and that is how I landed on your video. I will definitely do this. PS. I love you and your wive’s youthful, fun and playful attitude, 🤪😛.
Ive been trying to decide to buy a "Stepper", an Ellipticall/Portable Pedal/Bike or .. Not at all, lol. I feel like Im leaning more towards a pedal/bike not! Thank s
I'd def rec the bike 👍. Stepper will feel like you're climbing a mountain while trying to work. At least with the bike you're super stationary and it won't feel like you're bouncing around too much 😂😂
Standing and sitting for a long time ist not that great for our body healthwise. Our body likes to move:) The best thing healthwise would be a treadmill on a (very) low kmh setting, but it costs a lot of energy to run it always while you are working on the pc. And in theory you could gain a tiny bit of energy back with your set up. Looks great I will probably try it too:)
My desk is too low for pedals. My thighs would hit the bottom of the desk. I use it at home for 45 minutes a day while watching tv; then put it on my chest and pedal with my arms in a speed boxing motion for about 20 minutes. It’s a pretty intense hour of TV.
Hey there! That's the BEKANT motorized desk from IKEA. The top is just a standard IKEA table top (I believe the 59" wide option). You can really use any top you want. 👋
Thank you for doing this video and showing yourself exercising at the desk. With me, I started doing a desk, pedal elliptical, at my desk. So I'm going to see if help with toning my legs and thighs.
Awesome! Enjoy it! I've been riding the bike a bit more while my wife plays RingFit on our Switch 😂 . It's still going strong and I think the bike has about 3,000 miles on it.
Hi just curious roughly every day how long were you on your bike total I am in a predicament with the shelter in place and I am sweater to so I need to stay active somehow throughout the the day I think this is the hardest thing losing all the weight that I lost through the years and then having to shelter-in-place the past 7 months it feels kind of defeating but I'm not giving up thanks for posting this video now I'm getting ideas my stationary bike unfortunately has the arm exercise things on it I don't even know what you call those I definitely need a bike like yours
Hey! I know it's a bit old video but I just stumbled upon this. I'd like to ask, how disruptive was cycling while working? Did you ever had to stop because you couldn't focus on your work, or did you ever feel like you're a bit slower with finishing off tasks than you'd otherwise be? (Also now that it's 3 years later, are you still biking? Does the bike still work well?) Thank you for the answers!!
Hey Dániel 👋. Great questions! I found that work that took a TON of focus or brainpower I'd have to slow down the pedaling to be able to concentrate. As the month went on though, I found that pedal slowing happening less! So, I can imagine if I kept using the bike for a long period of time, it wouldn't be a big deal. I think I ended up using the bike for a good 6 months (nearly daily!) Then, it was 3-4 times per week for the next 6 months. Then, maybe once a week after that. The bike worked like a charm until the day I sold it -- we sold all our stuff to travel full-time this year. My wife even started using the bike as her exercise bike in our garage gym during covid lockdowns too! So, it got tons of miles put on it with no issues. Hope that helps!
Sweaty kids unite! I've done hot yoga for many years, and I look like I've just stepped out of the shower after 10 minutes. I actually asked my doctor about it and his advice was to either take a bunch of horrible meds with dangerous side effects or learn to travel with a change of clothes and a towel. 😛
I'm wondering if maybe if I were to do this on my bike I would split it up during the day maybe shoot for 3 hrs a day but split it up so im constantly active when I'm not on camera with zoom and just pedal see my problem is I want to go hard on mymy bike I do about 20 to 25 minute workout I stand up and pedal I move up the resistance I move down the resistance I use the arm thingys LOL still forget what they are called but I try to make sure I get the most out of it but obviously I can't do that if I'm going to be working six to seven hours all day without looking like a sweaty mess
no before-after for a weight loss comparison? if all else is equal (equal consumption of calories), you would lose just over 5 pounds (each pound of fat is 3500 calories) by doing this extra exercise for the month. that's pretty good.
Yeah, I didn't actually think of this as a weight-loss challenge so I didn't track that (plus, I didn't own a scale at the time 😅). Thanks for doing that math though, I definitely noticed a difference in my waistline!
The link that you added is not the exact one that you have and then the name that you put shows only ones that have the desk included with it I don't want the workstation one
Hey Lee 👋. Personally, I like the smaller footprint of the bike and it's not such a permanent solution (we currently move the bike between office and garage gym). You can't really do that with a treadmill. 😊
Walking for an hour+ can start to feel pretty shitty on the feet. Would probably want to invest in some good footwear. There's footprint and likely mobility issues (relating to to treadmill itself), and also it's likely electric and won't stop moving when you stop moving, so I think that could be quite distracting when doing work. You're on a device that never stops moving unless you press buttons or get off of it. With the bike, you just stop pedalling instantly, and stop and start whenever.
Hi Adeena 👋 . It's the "BEKANT" motorized standing desk from IKEA. I used a standard gloss white table top from IKEA too. Have had the desk for 5+ years with no problems ✅ .
Hey Jason! I see you were able to knock out emails while cycling. I was wondering - do you think you'd be able to write, say, a lengthy, 500-word blog post while riding? Or do you reckon that for being *really* focused (which is mandatory when writing that much) it's still better to stand still or sit down? I usually have to write those lengths so I'm curious; Thank you ;)
I actually remember working on a few blog posts! I couldn't keep the focus for too long, BUT, even just 15 minute spirts were really helpful. Definitely give it a try!
Great video. Made me laugh many times. One question, on this bike can you take the table top off or just not install the table top and long neck? I have a desk I want this to sit on and use. They have a version of it but only other online sites sell it and I’m iffy when buying online from random places
Good question, I only bought the one without the table. But, I *believe* you can easily remove the table top from the bike. I can't see how they'd make it permanent anyway 🤷🤷.
Enjoyed your video. Just was wondering if you might look at a machine or machines to do with the upper body. So the arms. In which you should perhaps review machines that are called under desk pedal. Perhaps you have videos made of you and your wife using these machines. Its hard to say if I'd like these machines or not. So I might get an understanding helping if you have looked at them. Or that you may in the future.
Hah, I'm SURE you could! The first few days of that would probably be pretty rough. I'd vote for starting with 1 hour per day and increasing slowly, that way you get used to it. Give it a shot 👍🏻
I feel like the under desk treadmill takes up more cognitive bandwidth than pedaling because your brain has to work harder to keep your balance when walking. I find it's easier to do work with the bike.
Hi Candi 👋. Admittedly, I stopped using the bike at my desk about 6 months after this video. Mostly because... the pandemic hit and we created a home garage (and the bike became our DIY Peloton 😂). Still gets used 1-2 times per week and works like a charm nearly 4,000 miles later!
Hi Sarah 👋 . Honestly, it can be hit or miss on the noise. The fact that you MIGHT have noise issues is probably reason enough to not buy it for a work environment. At home/in the garage gym you can get away with the noise. Probably best to look at a quieter-reviewed bike for work.
Loved this! So cool, I'm thinking about the VersaDesk, have you ever heard of this? ALSO, you may have mentioned this in the video, but did cycling increase your desire to work out/affect that at all?
Hiii 👋. Have not heard of the VersaDesk before you mentioned it. I already had a motorized standing desk from IKEA (Bekant model), so that worked perfectly for me. And yeah, I did find some days I wanted to work out due to feeling extra energy from a simple bike session!
I kinda want to know what DESK do you use. I'm sure this bike don't fit perfectly in all desks. I need something like this cause I work on my bum 8h daily. But I need a good standing desk too.
Hi Erika 👋. The desk I used to own and you saw in this video is the motorized IKEA Bekant standing desk. I had the motorized standing desk for 5+ years and loooooved it. Such a great desk!
Well, there was definitely a point when it got noisy but that DID go away after awhile. Every now and again it has some noise but then it'll go 100-300 miles with almost zero noise at all. Hard to say it's 100% noise-free 🤷🏻♂️ .
You are burning approx ~400cal/hr according to your calculations. I just bought the bike and I'm burning ~200cal/hr on resistance setting 6. Something is not adding up. I also notice the cal counter is a lot faster on -1 resistance setting, which doesn't make sense. -1 takes 0 effort.
Yep! We moved this desk bike into our garage gym after covid hit. It's been a great stationary bike for the gym (my wife even does modified Peloton workouts on it).
Bit of a longshot, but I am looking at these bikes and am curious how tall you are. I am 6'4" so people and the docs say it is probably too short, but I am curious what your thoughts are since you seem fairly tall.
Hi @Dallin 👋. We are the SAME height, my friend! I'm 6'4 as well. I would say the bike seat doesn't quite go up high enough, BUT I've logged 3,500 total miles on the bike and I don't have any knee pain or problems at all. Could it be taller for us? Yeah. But couldn't everything in life? 😂
Hey Michael 👋 . Truthfully, I don't ride the bike as often. Mayyyybe once a week or so. I'm not even sure at what point I stopped 🤷🏻♂️ . The bike still works flawlessly, so it's a solid product. I think with everything that's happened this year, my wife and I just take more walks outside since we can't travel or do anything, so riding a bike inside doesn't seem like fun right now. 😂
@@WanderingAimfully understandable. I ended up getting one since I'm stuck at my desk all day anyways for my job. It's easy to just hop on for 20 to 30 minutes a few times a day then walk early in the morning before work
I bought an under desk elliptical than can be used while sitting or standing. I hope it works out for me. It comes in the mail soon. I need to lose fat and stop being sedentary and it will be a good combination with the weight training I do.
Unfortunately, no idea. Can't find any info on it in the Amazon listing. I am 6'4 and 240 pounds and could fit just fine on the seat. I know you can buy seat covers to make the seat larger too.
Hi there 👋 Yep, the bike is still going strong. I ride it 2-3 times per week these days, sometimes only 1 ride per week depending on my gym workout routine. For the amount of miles put on it (and how large I am) I'm impressed with it!
It is weird that resistance 2 was challenging for you. I have the exact same bike and it only starts to feel challenging on 7 (just one notch below the highest of 8) ! 6 is leisurely pedaling for me and so I never though to try anything lower 🤔
I'm sure 2 is fine, but over the stretch of an hour of constant pedalling while trying to focus on computer stuff, it might just be a bit too much resistance for that... not sure. Or maybe the noise emanating from the device that went away was relevant after all lol. Oh I found a response of his that addressed this question (pasting part of it): What I found was that trying to use the bike as a verrrrrrrry passive form of exercise at my desk, Level 2 made it a workout and not just burning extra cals. Keeping the level lower made it much easier to not feel like it was hard(er) work each day. Nowadays we just use the bike as our home gym bike and I'm up to Level 6 for 40-45 minute rides a few times a week. It's definitely a workout as you crank it up! Hope that helps 🤗.
Hey just wanna say I bought the same bike and calorie burning calculation seems very flawed. It does not alter the amount of calories burned (or any of the other stats) if you change the level of resistance. This is wrong. If you are on a higher level of resistance like 8 and you are pedaling the same amount as you are on level 1 it doesn't seem to change the rate or amount at which it displays the calories burned. Same with miles and the others. I'm a little disappointed by this but the rest of the bike works fine for what it does so I can't say I still wouldn't recommend it.
Ahhh, interesting! As I said in the video, I always had the resistance set to the lowest setting because it made me so sweaty and I wanted to use it while working (and not drench my laptop). I have been using it more as an exercise bike since (resistance level 5) and just thought the calories burned were what they were 😂 . Good to know and thanks for sharing!
@@WanderingAimfully Yea I figured it was okay since you didnt change the setting but I wanted to let you know anyway! Also thanks so much for the review, I bought the bike based off it!
Hiii friend! I definitely don't ride the bike 3-4 times per week any longer (a year later). BUT, I still hop on it time to time, especially when I know I'd be vegging on the couch and could "veg" on the bike and burn some cals. The good news is, the bike is solid and is still running strong 💪🚲.
@@WanderingAimfully Was it your plan all along to use it for the 30 days then not use it as often. Or what is the reasoning you don't use it as often now? Thanks for the video!!!
@@mikefisher9862 I did get a bike, almost same one Jason had (Flexispot, although mine came with a removable little desk). I found it very hard to work and bike at the same time, so I use mine a few times a week while I'm on calls, watching tutorials or something else more basic that doesn't involve much use of my arms. If I have to think creatively, write emails or troubleshoot an issue, I either unconsciously stop biking or find that I can't concentrate unless I stop biking. So I don't use it as much as I'd hoped, but still keep more active than normal by using it when I'm on calls. I alternate standing/sitting to work every 2-3 hours the rest of the time. Hope that helps!
Hi Laura 👋. I didn't do this challenge as a weight-loss challenge, so I'm not too sure. If I had to guess, I'd say 5-10 pounds, maybe. Usually, with good habits, you can lose 1-2 pounds per week depending on how much you have to lose. That's not exact science, nor is it prescriptive advice, just my own personal experience over the years 😇.
Hi Amran 👋. The goal of this challenge wasn't about weight loss, so a before/after didn't really make sense. I did a 90-day fitness challenge a few years ago if you want to see before/after content 😊. This was just about trying to find a way to sustainably burn some extra calories through a fun 30-day experiment.

No idea why RUclips shows such long ads 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ . But I can tell you that you'd burn about 18 calories if you were riding a stationary bike while watching those 😉 😆 .
Goooood eye! I (Jason) tried the Oura for over a month and just didn't love it. I feel like I get the same "results" from wearing a Fitbit Inspire HR and their app experiences gives me more to-dos and reminders. 🤷🏻♂️ I love the concept of Oura though!

Hi Candi 👋. Admittedly, I stopped using the bike at my desk about 6 months after this video. Mostly because... the pandemic hit and we created a home garage (and the bike became our DIY Peloton 😂). Still gets used 1-2 times per week and works like a charm nearly 4,000 miles later!
Would you recommend this bike as far as noise wise? I share a cubicle with a few peeps and read negative reviews on the noise. Thanks 😊
@@WanderingAimfully thank u 🙏🏼
Best ever bought! I will definitely be buying this brand again!
Is that like a regular exercise bike or motor-propelled?
Regular 😉. You can learn more about it here: amzn.to/3nodw0j
i have a question, can you do work that involves lots of thinking. will it affect your work
Only one way to find out! We all work differently, so it's hard to say yes or no to your question. I had no problems focusing while biking ✅ .
How noisy is it? I work in a shared office space and don't want to annoy my collegues
Well, there was definitely a point when it got noisy but that DID go away after awhile. Every now and again it has some noise but then it'll go 100-300 miles with almost zero noise at all. Hard to say it's 100% noise-free 🤷🏻♂️ .
I got one and im surprised you couldn't handle over the lowest resistance? It feels like very little resistance until the highest setting for me
Sounds like you have THIGHS OF THUNDER, Carl 😂 👏🏻
I mean...those are good-looking donuts! 😅😂❤❤❤
@Jimbo Jimbo or use a fitbit
is it still effective if i only use deskbike for exercise?
Yep! We moved this desk bike into our garage gym after covid hit. It's been a great stationary bike for the gym (my wife even does modified Peloton workouts on it).
My stupid internet at work sucks….. did you lose any weight?? I need to lose and I work so much. I just got one and I’m hoping this helps me
Bit of a longshot, but I am looking at these bikes and am curious how tall you are.
@@WanderingAimfully I knew you were tall! Awesome, thanks for the reply!
Any update after a year? Considering one of these
Hey Michael 👋 .
@@MichaelVash7886 .
@@Penelope416 Hey hun did you ever order your bike? I got one today I can sit or stand on. I'll use it tomorrow. 🙂
About 600 a day
Does anyone know the size of the seat ?
Unfortunately, no idea. Can't find any info on it in the Amazon listing. I am 6'4 and 240 pounds and could fit just fine on the seat. I know you can buy seat covers to make the seat larger too.
Can you give an update? Are you still riding, didi the bike last?? Great video..
Hi there 👋 Yep, the bike is still going strong. I ride it 2-3 times per week these days, sometimes only 1 ride per week depending on my gym workout routine. For the amount of miles put on it (and how large I am) I'm impressed with it!
Great video deserves way more views!
Thanks James 🥰
? What’s the speed/resistance?
I think the speed was something like 15-18mph average. Resistance was lowest setting on the bike. I tried up'ing it and got too sweaty 😂 .
Hahahahah careless whisper doughnuts. Great attitude
😉
Dude you are a genius....I really enjoyed this I have subscribed
After you said resistance at 2 is too much, did you spend the entire 30 day period on -1 resistance.
Yep, sure did! I continue to use the lowest resistance. I burn plenty of calories and it's challenging enough for 30+ minute rides 👍
Can U lose weight with it ?
Yea
wow! I'm gonna try it while I watchitv at night or before I start my study sessions in th a.m.
Thanks for the video and the info :-)
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Thanks 4 the video.
You bet! 👏
Oh I found a response of his that addressed this question (pasting part of it):
What I found was that trying to use the bike as a verrrrrrrry passive form of exercise at my desk, Level 2 made it a workout and not just burning extra cals.
@@Siberius- Also people are likely at different levels of fitness and strength so one can't conclude anything easily from anecdotes. thanks
I do 6 as well. Anything less, doesn't feel like effort.
600 calories is one of those fancy donus
So I'm thinking of getting that bike and re-watched this. Jason, are you still riding the bike? ;)
Did you get a bike? How often do you use it?
Great video! I am trying today an under their desk elliptical! Hope I can burn some calories!
You got this!
This was awesome, i totally enjoyed it.... Thank you !!!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! 👋
What standing desk do you have?
Hi Elizabeth 👋 It's the "FLEXISPOT Deskcise Pro" (horrible name). Here's the link on Amazon: amzn.to/3a4MJ1k
How much weight did you lose?
Strong pocket-tee game, Jason
Thank you sirrrr! That one is from Marine Layer and I LOOOVE it 😉
Thank you! Very helpful
Isn’t the normal to use 2,000 calories day? That’s 60,000 a month.
Thanks for sharing, sitting is boring 🙃
Agreed! Although, I'm sitting while typing this reply 🤔 😂
That’s two nights I get to enjoy going forward😂
Did you lose weight?
Don't know, didn't weigh myself at all during this challenge 😂. My clothes fit a bit better, so I'd have to assume I did 🤷.
9:23 "Like Brad Pitt in Fight Club" 5'11 150lbs there.
You're really funny! Great video :)
Awwwww yay, thanks Tanja! 🥰
why did he not do before and after!?!? whats the point of this video?
Hi Amran 👋. The goal of this challenge wasn't about weight loss, so a before/after didn't really make sense. I did a 90-day fitness challenge a few years ago if you want to see before/after content 😊. This was just about trying to find a way to sustainably burn some extra calories through a fun 30-day experiment.
I just played PlayStation while on a stationary bike
Hahah YES! I played some Zelda BOTW during this challenge. Great way to pass the time 👏
It is either this or jumping the rope at my breaks but using my breaks to workout is gonna kill me
Man, more power to ya if you can jumprope throughout the day... It has always been an exercise that made me too sweaty to do outside of a workout 😅.
I came here for the penguin onesie. Imagine how disappointed I was 😉
Hahahah... such a missed opportunity! Okay, I'll have to slip that in a future vid 🐧👀
Wandering Aimfully well, it was a great podcast with Matt. You e got a sub from me :)
Thank you for this video!!!!

Oh nice 1 lb a week just bike riding while working, also yay more food!
Hahah, yep! Even included a couple batches of homemade 🍪 during that month!
I really want one of these now!
GET ONE! 😂
So does your egg plant emoji move all the time and it stopped moving and that’s how you found out it fell asleep ?
Wow, amazing!
Thank you! 🤗
13:37 lmao
😂😂😂
Seriously, how many f'ing 4 minute full ads do I have to sit through to watch a short video?
No idea why RUclips shows such long ads 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ . But I can tell you that you'd burn about 18 calories if you were riding a stationary bike while watching those 😉 😆 .
Is that oura ring on the left hand?noice!
Goooood eye! I (Jason) tried the Oura for over a month and just didn't love it. I feel like I get the same "results" from wearing a Fitbit Inspire HR and their app experiences gives me more to-dos and reminders. 🤷🏻♂️ I love the concept of Oura though!
are we not going to talk about the prancersize lady cameo? oh ok. carry on...
Hahahaha, right?? 😉
👀 Well Done 👍✅
Ruck 10% of your body weight for 3 miles a day. (start with 5% though).
So.... carry 24lbs of donuts and then eat them? That's what I'm hearing. 😂
Lol at eggplant emoji hahahahah
Hah, had to do it! 😉
