We look forward to seeing your wonderful creations.
Thanks for watching & happy stitching. 🌿🍄🌸🪺🕊
I used 2 wooden heart drink coasters for a bobbin with a wooden dowel between them. If you "set" the screws, you can glue on buttons to cover them. Bonus, it doesn't roll off the shelf!
Great idea
I've seen pianola rolls pulled apart to make them as well
Fantastic idea! Looking forward to joining in! Happy New Year to you and yours, Tfs, Laura ❤
hey sass, love it. laying an egg as I bought a gorgeous old spool from dirty janes when I was in Bowral ....having coffee with juju :-) hee hee...well done and great ideas. I've hit follow on the lovely wild ink sketch - very cool. Hope your last weeks of term are happy ones. sending love and hugs, Vick xxxxxxxxx
OH my, this is going to be epic... love the idea... off to find a bobbin... Cheers for sharing...
I will be joining in on this one, too....been gathering all my stuff together....
Awesome project ladies.. count me in! (Tap root weed or plant has a single root into the ground) that’s the farm kid coming out in me.. Dad would be pleased I remembered something lol..
Brilliant my Son has made me a wooden spool as he does wood turning. I have done a snippet so really looking forward to this project. Thank you.x
Perfect
What a special handmade gift, and from your son. A treasure!
Thank you Sarah looking forward to this ❤
Brilliant!! I think I’m going to make my spool out of copper pipe and a couple of flanges for the ends. So many ideas floating around in my head, lol 😂. Thank you for all you do and thank you for sharing all this wonderfulness with us. 💕🥰💕
Can’t wait for this one . I do t have a wooden spool but I do have a collection of antique wooden rolling pins . I think I’m going to use one of them and use the handles as a hanging base . Maybe xxx
glad I'm reading the comments to see others ideas and I like this one, I too have a rolling pin that probably would fit the vintage category lol....I do have a china one as well but don't think I'll use that one 😀😀
Great idea.
Brilliant idea Patricia.. Brilliant
Happily gathering items, thanks for the new project!!!
Lovely idea, I'm looking forward to getting started and on the look out for a spool!

So excited to get going! I have been collecting antique spools for many years and there are several that are perfect for this project! I’ll start collecting things right away! Great timing as I am about finished with my current project.
Loving this idea. Already I'm thinking about adding a garden shed to my stitchery!

Hi Sarah. I am looking forward to joining in on this project. I don't have a spool, but after reading other comments I have a couple of ideas if I can't find one locally.
Yay, I found the paper towel holder my now 38-yr old son made in school.
I love these old spools-I used them as a bracelet display when I sold jewelry in my friend’s repurpose shop. Now to bring new life to them again. Come on January!
Thank you. I love this idea and already have the spool from Dollshouse.
This sounds like a really fun project. I've been looking for a reason to buy a spool or two. Now I have it.... gone shopping 🛍
Looks like an exciting new sewing project for 2023. I'm looking forward to making my garden roll. Good to have time to get organized and think about materials we will need.

Thank you!! A sniper roll is on my ‘next project’ idea and I’ve been collecting fabrics etc for it, awesome because I didn’t think I would have started it on my own for long time
Hi Sarah, this sounds like an amazing project, and the artists garden looks amazing - it reminded me of a book by Sara Midah, called in and out of the garden. Yes, feeling inspired, bit a little intimidated, as I see such beautiful sewing from you all - but I think I will bite the bullet, and go for it! off to see what fabrics I might have, Thank you both for all you do on these challenges xxx
Lovethis. Love Pam’s rolls and I believe Roxy did one she showed before. I think I’m gonna try to follow this one. It’s a new year, ad I need structure in my life😂😂always loved these rolls.
Oh I love this project, will definitely be joining in, thank you :)

Hi Sarah I love this idea and looking forward to begin working on it.🧵🌻🌼🌿🌾🌲
Sarah: brilliant, delightful, new concept, and a fantastic adaptation of the artist’s original idea! Fabulous! Carol from California
Fabulous idea! I loved making a scroll not too long ago. And choosing a horizontal or vertical direction is fun to think about. ** So very glad you and Roxy are continuing on to another Vol. Thank you!
So excited we are continuing together in the new year! I like the concept!!! Thanks for keeping the stitching going!!!!

So very excited about this!
Love it❣❣❣Thank you very much 😊
I’m SO excited!! Absolutely love doing snippet rolls ❤️❤️❤️
❤❤❤
I have wanted to do a snippet roll. So excited
Now I need to find a spool
This sounds so fun!
Oooh I happen to have a big spool like that just begging to be used 😊
Just adorable 😍
Ok, I’m new at this! I want to try and follow along and see what I can come up with. I’ve seen the first one. Not sure how to start. Do I make my under part and a top part to sew onto? How long should I start with. I do have a spool. I’m starting off with a shorter spool being my first one. Will the one coming up be what we go by to start. I know the topic is in the garden. I’m going to get some scrapes together this week to have something out and ready. Looking forward to this! Hope I get how to follow ya’ll! Gail
Hi Gail
We will be making the top part first and you can back it nice you are finished. You can start with any length as we can add more fabric as we go. The only thing that needs to be correct first is the fabric needs to fit within the width of the spool. We will show you that on Wednesday.
❤️
@@roxycreationsbysarah I’m hunting down fabrics I have. Looking forward to starting! I have some ideas and looking forward to seeing if I’m on the right track.
Looks like fun!
This is excellent!
Thanks so much 🧵🪡♥️
Great project 💙- looking forward to taking part and watching yours and Rachel’s lovely and inspiring videos - (a dandelion is an example of a tap root ‘weed’ - do you have dandelions in Australia?)
Ahh ok. Yes we have those. Thanks
This is so fun I used to work in a herbal shop
Dandelion Herb Shop In Glen Burnie Md. love dandy lion anything.
Hello,beautiful 👍👏
🌼💝🌼💝🌼
I've been following your series along with interest but not ever been in a position to start but this time I am seriously thinking of giving it ago, just need to find spools lol...most are OS and I'm not paying triple for postage lol any ideas where we can find them in Australia
Hi Lesley- I have seen them in antique stores, relatively cheaply- about $10 - $15 dollars. Are you in Sydney? I know a store that normally has some.
@@roxycreationsbysarah unfortunately no 😀😀 I'm in SA :D I will keep looking found a way to make them via pinterest so all is not lost. Antiques stores here would want a $100 lol
Where do you get the spools and the garden she was looking at on her phone? Can’t find the referral.
I got my spool from a friend called Pam. She is here on Instagram- instagram.com/cocopensiero?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Hi sarah where did you buy your spool as i have been trying too get some , JAN from bris
Hi Jan- I got mine from Vintage Dolls House a while ago. I have also seen some in antique stores in Sydney. Maybe check out an antique store in Brissy and see if you can find one.
