Norah Jones' voice is melodic and so soothing. It's like a balm for the soul. Absolutely beautiful! I could never tire of hearing her voice. Thanks for the reaction!
Norah has the perfect "relaxation" voice. Almost meditation music. If you are sitting in a lawn chair 💺, with your toes buried in the sand and the waves 🌊 crashing gently along the shore, then Norah Jones is the one you want to listen to.
Typically, when I’m asked to pick a favorite song of Norah’s I choose “One Flight Down”. I just love the feel and the sentiment of the song and it really showcases her voice and piano playing. It’s absolutely brilliant.
For me, Norah is the very definition of "less is more". Her singing isn't flashy, and neither is her piano playing. Her songs are like a Swiss Army Knife - they give you everything you need, and nothing you don't. The spaces she leaves are just brilliant.
Guyz you can’t explore the 1980s without the legend that is Ms Grace Jones. ‘Pull up to the bumper’ ‘Slave to the rhythm’, ‘I’ve seen that face before (Libertango)’ and ‘Walking in the rain’ are a must. Sly & Robbie were amazing producers 🙏🙏
Your love for Nora Jones makes me so happy. Try One Flight Down and Turn Me On. Also her collaboration with Bonnie Rait. Her cover of Black Hole Sun is great too. Thanks for all you do!
Hahahaaha...lol.....hahahaha....I am soooo glad you guys accepted my request.....this is a recent song from Norah. And think you guy will enjoy this song!!!!
Norah Jones and Bonnie Raitt sing to you like they are in your living room and singing to you personally. These kinds of artist sang and performed in Coffeehouses were the audiences were really small. So, Norah Jones delivery is like she is performing the song in a small Coffeehouse with a small audience!!! And you feel it!!!
Love your analogies and thoughts Amber. The world does need a Nora Jones fix daily. The world would be much more calm, peaceful and harmonious. This was another song that I would use to relax with my little ones on my chest after a long day at work. Can't listen in the car though, too easy to lose focus with that vibe!!!
Not until today. Just listened though. Quite talented, I would say, but of a completely different style, genre, and tone. Perhaps technically as skilled, but not as much my preference.
I think one of my faves by her is called "Nightingale" and is rarely heard. It's from her Come Away With Me album. "Turn Me On" from that same album is good too.
A friend of mine died at 24. as i was getting dressed for the funeral this song was played on the radio and on this rainy day the sun started to shine. It made me smile although my tears were falling. I will never forget this moment that calmed me in some kind of way. This song will always be more than special to me! TR I still miss you
Interesting fact...Norah Jones' father is musicial artist Ravi Shankar. Ravi Shankar first came to my attention from following George Harrison's music. He had introduced George to the musical instrument called the sitar. Norah has such a beautiful voice and talented musician as well. Thanks for your video:)
This is the music my mom was always listening to when I was growing up in the early 2000s. Another one of my favourites of hers is "Those Sweet Words". In a similar vein, you might also enjoy Katie Melua. "The Closest Thing to Crazy" is a one of the most beautiful songs
I had a boyfriend in Western Germany 🇩🇪 . I listened to Norah Jones every morning texting on a first computer mid 90’s. She was always my go to Morning wake up tunes. Best memories
Great voice. And I love the way she plays piano, especially in her “quiet” songs. Always a light touch. Just floats along with her vocals and perfectly fills the gaps in between verses.
During the pandemic she did a series of live recitals from her home.... just her singing while playing the piano. You got to check those out on her channel. I so looked forward to them each week.
Norah Jones did a song with her half-sister, Anoushka Shankar, called "Traces of You" which is beautiful. Anoushka Shankar is a very popular Indian musician, and the song has a very unique sound and of course, Norah Jones singing is perfect!
I remember putting her CDs in, hitting repeat, kicking back on the couch and just..... drifting.... but seriously guys... check out her duet with Dolly Parton... diametrically opposed voices blending together seamlessly... amazing
Here's the crazy thing... I think not only do you two(Nora & Amber) look similar but you have a similar sweetness and vibe! If you've ever heard her speak she is a kind, thoughtful, and curious person just like you Amber. It's like you have a similar frequency... I think Jay would agree! Do you know who her dad is? I think you might like his music as well speaking of down to earth! I think you will find other similarities including diverse parentage!
I love Norah! Her music is what I like to call coffee shop music. “Sunrise” is one of my top favorite songs from her. Another from her you all should listen to is “Creepin’ In” featuring Dolly Parton- excellent pairing! Keep doing what you’re doing, guys. I’m loving your reaction videos!
Beautiful voice. She is the daughter of legendary Indian Sitar player Ravi Shankar. Her mother was French. Noras half sister Anoushka Shankar is also a famous sitar player like her father and has recorded with Western artistes like Sting of The Police. Both sisters have recorded together, listen to the lovely song ‘Traces of you’. 😊❤
Jay, I have 4 CDs by Norah, and at least once a week I'll put one on when I go to bed. Her voice is so soothing that even if I'm not tired, she'll usually get me there before it's played half way through.
there's so many good songs from her....two wonderful stripped down songs she does are "humble me" and "there nearness of you" which is an old jazz standard but honestly anything is good...she is so great.
Amber’s T shirt actually has a bit of a connection to Nora Jones. Her father is a famous Indian Sitar player called Ravi Shankar. During the 1960’s George Harrison from The Beatles became very influenced by this musician and this helped bring Indian music and instruments into western music. A common genre where it’s used is the ‘Hippy’ styles. A Sitar is a strange looking indian guitar like thing.
I recommend Melody Gardot -- she's similar to Norah Jones, but her songs represent a lot of different vibes. Also, her backstory is incredible and inspiring. Start with "Worrisome Heart."
Nora Jones music is just pure bliss. Put her on loop, chillax & float away EVERY TIME. It's like a body wrap at the spa. You don't wanna move once it's finished bc ur body is weightless & ur soul is in virtual reality mode of heavenly paradise. Nora Jones = Suave💓J agree with you about her. My fave of hers is "Come Away With Me"! Thank y'all .. peace out ❣️😊☮️
Also, if you ever get a chance to check out a clip of Norah Jones singing a duet with Dave Grohl, 'Maybe I'm Amazed' in tribute to Paul McCartney at the Kennedy Center Honors, it's worth a watch
I love watching your videos I’m a subscriber to your music and movie reactions you make me happy your enthusiasm for new music and movies is so infectious I feel like I’m watching them and hearing them with you for the first time & I’ve not felt that way about music for a while now so thank you. Keep it going your doing great. You and your beautiful family deserve the lot. Love. 🫶🏼
Here's a wonderful newer song by Norah Jones along with Jeff Tweedy of the band Wilco. "I'm Alive" Happy Listening Amber, Jay and fellow Rob Squad Reaction Fans! Enjoy! ruclips.net/video/Hjv2mxOiej4/видео.html
She’s one of my favorites and she’s so diverse in the artists she works with. Check out “Miriam”, “Let it Ride” with Robert Glasper, and “Life is better” with Q-Tip for some variety.
Norah Jones' voice is melodic and so soothing. It's like a balm for the soul. Absolutely beautiful! I could never tire of hearing her voice. Thanks for the reaction!
Haven't heard this in years!! She's such a talented artist. I recommend "What Am I To You?", "Thinking About You", and "Chasing Pirates". Love Norah!
Her live show in New Orleans House of blues was terrific, one of my fav's is Lonestar.
Norah has the perfect "relaxation" voice. Almost meditation music. If you are sitting in a lawn chair 💺, with your toes buried in the sand and the waves 🌊 crashing gently along the shore, then Norah Jones is the one you want to listen to.

Now that Norah Jones is in your top five, you have to listen to Creepin' In, her duet with Dolly Parton.
Norah Jones and Enya will help anyone be calm after a bad day on the road or at work. Elevating and soothing.
Norah Jones's voice is like getting a hug from your mom and grandmom at the same time.❤
This song is in the movie "Because of Winn Dixie". It's one of the cutest little movies ever. My whole family loves it.
Norah did an album of covers songs with Billy Joe Armstrong (Green Day) called "Foreverly". Some great stuff there.
For me, Norah is the very definition of "less is more". Her singing isn't flashy, and neither is her piano playing. Her songs are like a Swiss Army Knife - they give you everything you need, and nothing you don't. The spaces she leaves are just brilliant.
Best definition
"One Flight Down". One of my favorite songs from her.
During the Pandemic she did a number of from the home videos which were just wonderful. Just Norah and piano.

Fun fact: Slave To The Rythym was produced by Trevor Horn of 'Video Killed the Radio Star' fame.
Your love for Nora Jones makes me so happy. Try One Flight Down and Turn Me On. Also her collaboration with Bonnie Rait. Her cover of Black Hole Sun is great too. Thanks for all you do!
So beautiful. Sounds incredible on vinyl
During lockdown she was doing lives from home and she was totally awesome just her and piano or her and guitar so so beautiful
I got hooked on this album for a couple of months when it dropped. She’s effortless.
Norah has one of the most sensual voices. Seeing her live is a real treat. She's a gifted musician.
I love her voice! Great artist!
Norah Jones is one of my favourite singers/performers
"those sweet words"..another great song of hers
Hahahaaha...lol.....hahahaha....I am soooo glad you guys accepted my request.....this is a recent song from Norah. And think you guy will enjoy this song!!!!
Her voice makes me feel spiritual and at peace ,great pick guy’s ✝️
Had her album on CD back in the day. Used to listen to it in the car all the time. Great songs, great voice.
Her vibe is so delicate and warming. Recommend The Nearness of You, What am I to You, and Cold Cold Heart.
Norah Jones and Bonnie Raitt sing to you like they are in your living room and singing to you personally. Feeling the Same Way
Shoot the Moon
Two great songs to add to your list!

You guys got to do some Natalie merchant.. try her song wonder or her cove of - because the night
Her voice is just pitch perfect. Very few like her exist, if any!
never heard Floor Jansen then?
Not until today. Just listened though. Quite talented, I would say, but of a completely different style, genre, and tone. Perhaps technically as skilled, but not as much my preference.

Peaceful Easy Feeling! By the Eagles❤❤❤❤❤
Another unique voice , nice pick . she is also not a bad actress.
A friend of mine died at 24. as i was getting dressed for the funeral this song was played on the radio and on this rainy day the sun started to shine. It made me smile although my tears were falling. I will never forget this moment that calmed me in some kind of way. This song will always be more than special to me! TR I still miss you
First time seeing the video! So sweet. For more, listen to her duet with Ray Charles -- Here We Go Again.
Love love Norah Jones since the first time I heard her on the radio ... yep guys, check out "Turn Me On" from her next.
Interesting fact...Norah Jones' father is musicial artist Ravi Shankar. Ravi Shankar first came to my attention from following George Harrison's music. I adore her and her duo
With
Bonnie Raitt / Norah Jones~Tennessee Waltz is perfect

Smooth as silk..that voice! Excellent pick..been watching y'all for a bit, recently subscribed..keep on with it..
The comment about if everyone could just slow down and listen to some Norah Jones so on point. Thanks
"A Beautiful Breeze"... yes, that is Nora to a tee.
For a while every pub we went to stopped playing mixed music and just put the first Norah album on - on repeat, because everybody loved her.
I highly recommend her songs "Lonestar", "Out On The Road", and "Hurts To Be Alone". Just an incredible voice!!
Oh more Norah. This is really a treat. Wish more reactors would react to her. Thankyou.
Norah Jones voice is simply magical… ❤ Late night radio music…. 🎵📻

Come away with me is my favorite. Used it for my wedding.
Turn Me On is another good one of Norah's.

Yes. Great voice. Nice lyric too. Love it. Thanks.
She is absolutely beautiful, to gaze at and to listen to x

She is his daughter. No such thing as a half daughter.
@@Richard2003 True 👍
Full daughter
@@scatback33 sure 👍. I could’ve explained it better.
They have different mothers, so they are half sisters.
Jay, I have 4 CDs by Norah, and at least once a week I'll put one on when I go to bed. Her voice is so soothing that even if I'm not tired, she'll usually get me there before it's played half way through.
She's so calming and easy to listen to. Norah is wonderful!
I have to say that I am so impressed with your consistent content. So many posts ...all of the time, and they are insightful. Great job!
Norah Jones with Bonnie Raitt!!
Glad you got to this one, great song.
Two others I think are great are Chasing Pirates and One Flight Down.
I love putting her albums on back to back sometimes when I wanna be mellow. A lovely sunny day with the lapping waves outside. Heaven
Fun fact: her father is Ravi Shankar and played at Woodstock. You should check out his performance. 🙂❤️
He was involved with the Beatles, too.
there's so many good songs from her....two wonderful stripped down songs she does are "humble me" and "there nearness of you" which is an old jazz standard but honestly anything is good...she is so great.
Jay & Amber, you'll love her "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight" !!!
First heard of Norah Jones via Belle and Sebastian’s duet with her: Little Lou, Ugly Jack, Prophet John - such an amazing voice
One of the very few singer’s I like from the 90’s on.
You two remind me and my wife, after 36 years of marriage we still enjoy our life. I drive her crazy always singing BeeGee songs! Nora sounds great.
Chasing Pirates is her best song, imo. ❤️❤️

Had a big crush on Norah Jones ,a soft, sultry tone and stunningly beautiful.
Norah's voice just....MMPH.

Goosebumps moment voice
My favorite song of hers and I love the video

Charo is one of the best classical guitarists for a Friday. Roy Clark is too.
My favorite of hers.
Seven Years and Shoot the Moon are among my favorites.
One of my favorites is “Thinking about you”
Beautiful voice and she sings the blues and soul. Her father is Ravi Shankar a famous sitar player.

Need more Sarah McLachlan,Avril Lavigne,Liz Phair,Indigo Girls,Melissa Etheridge, and Jewel
Indigo Girls would be great for Female Friday for sure!
Nora Jones' cover of "Turn Me On" will end-up on the "whiskey playlist" I guarantee it! 🥃
Norah's got an angelic voice, but...
Turn Me On is one of those songs...the lyrics...her sultry voice...oh, man...
Nora puts me in the same groove as Katie Melua. Rarely do I listen to one without drifting to the other.
few know that she is the daughter of ravi shankar, the man who introduced george harrison to sitar playing. she has a wonderful voice
Listen to her duet with Ray Charles on a re-recording of his 1967 hit "Here We Go Again". Also has a great organ interlude by Billy Preston.
Check out the song (Wonder) by Natalie Merchant
Yes you’ve waited too long to discover Natalie Merchant / 10000 Maniacs. Another amazing voice.
She’s one of my favorites and she’s so diverse in the artists she works with. Check out “Miriam”, “Let it Ride” with Robert Glasper, and “Life is better” with Q-Tip for some variety.
Keb Mo "Dirty Lowdown and Bad ", "Am I Wrong ", "She Just Wants to Dance ".
