RESPECT!! I fully played this game once. I started on normal difficulty which I found quite hard but it wasn't untill the second main boss (the woodsmith with the furnace in the middle of the room) that I almost rage quitted the game because I could NOT win from her. Luckily I realized you can ajust the difficulty while playing, so I set it to easy and finished the game. This game is HARD. Even on normal difficulty!
A detail I loved and can be missed the first time around is when you leave the cave at the very beginning you come across a shape on the ground that looks eerily like the spirit of the mountain. It's much more noticeable on the second playthrough once you know more about the lore.
Ok but, I didn't expected to cry with this video, like the scene explaining what happened to Taro, was really sad and then the scene of his younger siblings hugging him is really moving and sweet :')
This game is so underrated. Amazing combat, visuals, and music. I'd say its at its best on the harder difficulties, as it forces you to learn and use every ability to survive, making it feel more complex. Definitely a game I will replay every year or so.
Super late comment but I agree wholeheartedly . Just got plat on ng+ and my goodness is this game beautiful. Master spirit makes you learn the parties and it’s so good . Definitely a game I’m coming back to as well!
I picked Kena because I read everywhere that the game was about 8 hours to beat, so it was supposed to be a weekend project. It took me more than 20 to reach the final boss! And the bosses were definitely harder than the ones on Bloodborne or Elden Ring haha.
@MR-zt1hh Fair take. I've beaten all Souls game and Sekiro, and the boss fights in this game is harder than any souls/soulslike game I've played (except for Malenia). I think because most boss fights here are kinda unfair at some point, esp. on Master difficulty, because the game just keeps on throwing enemies at you. Having said that, I think souls/soulslike game boss fights are better designed compared to Kena.
@@25cback totally agree with you. I think the ridiculously difficult boss fights on Kena are related to the inexperience of this new small studio. I’m pretty sure they were not designed like that on purpose.
@25cback having beating the souls games as well this game is not near that difficulty lol. You can parry everything, plus projectiles. The rot moves are very powerful as well. And you can literally kill bosses by spamming the special rot bomb that freezes them. This game is only close to souls like difficult on new game plus master spirit guide difficulty. Way more fun that way too!
You just introduced me to a new game to add on my list. This game looks so beautiful and visually striking. I believe I’ve read somewhere that the game was made by an animation studio, which explains why the cutscenes look like an animated film. I’ll definitely have to check this game out.
Yeah they did an amazing job with the cutscenes! Like daggersnight said, the music is genuinely so good too! Such an amazing experience even with the difficulty being so tough and I'm glad you've found a new game to play 😊
This looks like an absolutely amazing game, thanks for sharing your time with it! I also want to add, I know a lot of people will see the Japanese influences here, but there’s a lot of South-East Asian influence as well, especially in the music! Several of the boss fights feature what I believe is Indonesian gamelan ensemble, including the Warrior fight! It sounds like a cascade of brass bells, really beautiful stuff
Good stuff brother! Never would of thought this game would be so hard just by the look of it. So happy you got it finished, awesome Platinum to the collection. Can't wait to see what's next! 🏆🔥
I just finished my playthrough of this game, and I wanted to love it, but I couldn't get over all the jank I encountered 😭 I did play it on pc, so maybe that was the issue. I can't believe you plat on the hardest difficulty! Great job and amazing video! Just stumbled in here, but I'm def subbing :D
Great job. I love that beating difficult games essentially require two stages: first just rough repetition, grinding fights over and over and over until they are almost muscle memory. Then when you've done that, you usually come back a little more relaxed or rested or you're hit with a little bit of luck and you get it. But yeah, that first stage can take a long time, dozens or even hundreds of repetitions.
I've come to really enjoy your commentary during your videos. I feel you give just the right amount of info, and then move on. Look forward to more of your videos!

It took me about 4 days to defeat the Shrine Guardian boss in Master difficulty, its very hard but worth the deaths even with the smallest battles for a beautiful game. I confess that on my main account I did Master legit, on my second account I used an exploit to get the trophy - I didn't want to go through it again.

@@bVdaunat My bad bro 🤣 I would definitely recommend giving it another shot though! It's an amazing game and I think the hardest difficultly can still be cheesed if you don't want to deal with it
One of the games I had the most fun with in recent years. I only finished it on regular difficulty and since I‘m not good at stuff like this I‘m a little scared of the platinum, but I might go for it through NG+ at some point. Congrats on getting it the regular way! 👏
Very underrated game! more people shouldve talked about it imo. But congrats on the platinum! I outright refuse to go for platinums that require the hardest difficulty since I specifically play games to NOT be stressed out 😅😅
I LOVE this game! I played it over a year ago and 100% it on regular difficulty. Even then it was hard, but so satisfying once you feel comfortable with movement and combat skills. I still plan on playing it again to get the two trophies I missed (Return to Sender, and of course defeating on hardest difficulty).
I 100% agree, you learn as you go and I think that's what made me enjoy the game so much! It's more of a skill barrier than genuinely just being unfair and that's what kept me going! I'd recommend giving it a go soon, the return to sender one is a pain with the hardest difficulty but I believe you can do it! 😊
I hate hate hate the parrying system in this game so much 😭🙏🏻 just bc you have to hold L1 instead of just clicking it, this messes me up so bad and I can't get the hang of it, the timing is so hard.
It sees like you would've saved yourself some big headaches if you knew that the little guys that explode can be killed by simply pulsing, making any fight that spawns them as a major threat almost trivial. You can also pick up courage by pulsing, so you don't have to go anywhere near the courage drop comes in handy 99% of the time.
I got the platinum. It was one of my hardest as well. That master difficulty isn’t a joke but I figured out patterns and eventually beat it 🔥🔥 feels soo good
You did well by going right into Master. NG+ is a nightmare on Master, bosses have an extra phase where they regain up to 80% of their health and become way harder. The Warrior actually was the worst, with 3 samurai enemies that spawn mid fight (i believe they're exclusive to NG+) and it gets ridiculous. I miraculously beat that after a couple hours (or more). And a lot more enemies and chaotic encounters appear throughout the world.
I concur. I beat the game on normal first and tried new game+ master and I couldn’t do it. I was getting two tapped by most enemies. I tried again on a new game master save and I can say master new game + is EXPONENTIALLY harder than master new game
If the Samurai enemies you're talking about are the ones that glow purple, they show up in the trial challenges before NG+ too. I'm pretty sure I remember them first showing up in the last round of one of the combat ones, I was pissed because I was on my way to 3 star it but then they appeared and messed me up since I had never seen them before. They show up in a couple of the challenges, shame Satiire didn't seem to play any of them, the platforming and bow ones are really fun. 3 starring all the combat challenges on master mode was straight pain, only one I couldn't do was the final one where you fight all 3 Toshi relic guardians. I got real close a couple times, but ended up just lowering the difficulty to expert cause I wanted to see the outfit and surprisingly 3 starred it first try with ease. It's crazy how much of a difference there is between expert and master even before NG+
Oh damn, this is why I'm having such a hard time on NG+ master. It's honestly driving me insane. I'm on Adira's 3rd relic and I know it's only going to get worse from there.
@@25cback I feel you. The advantage of having unlocked all abilities and all the rot on my first (expert) run already felt like it was running out on Taro, but going into the 2nd chapter it's well and truly over. Started my NG+ master run this week and last night it took me like 4 hours to beat Adira. The additional moves she gets in the final 'fire phase' not only required perfect timing on dodging 4 chained attacks in a row repeatedly, but any time you try to take the initiative and fight back you're at risk of getting caught in the attack chain at an angle where dodging won't actually save you. In the end I managed to beat her only by having the first 2 phases down in such a way that I could absolutely maximize the damage dealt to her to make the final phase as short as possible and it still took numerous attempts. I still need to start on the 3 relic bosses for Toshi, but the Rot God is already giving me nightmares because of how nerve wrecking and time intensive every attempt is going to be 😰
Been binging all your videos. Your commentary is really great and I even put on your videos in the background sometimes since I've already played most of these games! :)
A youtuber from my region played this game and i saw it had good graphics and interesting mechanics.. So i got this game and god i dont regret one bit... It was such a nice experience... I enjoyed every bit of it... I enjoyed it so much I completed everything there is in the game
This video has inspired me to redownload Kena 😊 I played it for a few hours years ago, then got busy with other things. It really is beautiful! I may as well finish the game (on story mode, ofc😂)
I barelt found your channel id say a couple of days ago . Ive turned into a huge fan and i absolutely can not stop watchjng you Platinum trophies on games even on games i have never played or have played and some of the challenges like the minecraft one are insane to me . I like the idea and the content you provide such amazing work brotha glad i found you
Yeah I plat this a year or so ago before the update to do it in 1 playthrough. I really like the game and the hardest difficulty almost makes the game a Souls game with how you have to memorize what the enemy does when you inevitably die
It was such an amazing experience for me to beat the game at the hard difficulty and getting the platinium. All the bosses and challenges brought so many frustrations for me, especially as I am the kind of player who runs with emotions and keeping calm during fight was very hard for me. So many missteps just because I got scared by an attack lol. But the game is worth it!!! It is soo beautiful, Rots are so adorabale, the story is so touching. I don't regret any minute spent on the game. I am currently replaying it with DLC. I thought playing it for the 3rd time will be boring, but man was I mistaken :D
Great video. This game kicked my ass back when it came out. :) But I like the visuals and the soundtrack is one of my favorites in the last few years. :)
Amazing video. Love the way you show how you progressively get better at the game and figure out more mechanics. Great editing and voice work too. Also a great game I might have to play through it myself now!
Thank you! I loved making this video and the game is truly amazing so I 100% recommend! I think it was free at one point, not too sure now but it's worth the money 🫡
@@zOberTheTop I think you'd be able to do it for sure! I had my doubts too and almost quit a few times but eventually, you do start to understand the game The final boss is insane though 😭
I did the exact thing you did by modding the pc game at release in order to be able to play on Master on the first playthrough. Man, it was extremely fun!!
This game is pretty good. I got to play it on ps plus and had a great time, though I never tried the super hard difficulty. Kudos to you for the well earned platinum 👍🏾
Loved this game! 🤗 Though a bit short. But it also showed me that I am no longer very good at platforming as I was as a kid 😅 I thought the platforming was quite difficult and frustrating.
I do not care too much for trophies, certainly not for platinums, but this is one of the few i’ve got. Bought the game day one btw. Good stuff, thanks mate. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@@Satiire my last two are Returnal and Sifu. If i got them they are attainable. 😅 Just finished Rollerdrome and i’m weighting up if i should go for its platinum. You got a new subscriber. 🫡
I made a video about this plat recently as well. I took the other route of doing a normal playthrough and then a Master playthrough on NG+. I wish I had done it your way; Master NG+ Corrupted Woodsmith was the hardest boss I've ever fought.
I loved this game when I played it, however I struggled severely around the woof working/mining area, I forget exactly as it's been a while since I played it, but the lady who has the stone bull thing, that entire area I struggled with. But then I remember the final gauntlet gave me a TON of challenge too! I loved the game but it was so incredibly difficult at parts! Then I saw NG+ added new and harder enemies, as well as extra things to bosses and I gave up and couldn't imagine doing it haha
That was the area! The area with the two mages and ground that hurts you if you get knocked off! I think that was one of my most difficult areas in the game! In a way I am glad you found it to be the same, as least it wasn't just me haha
damn I really don't know if I could play this game cause I'm close to crying just from watching those scenes and experiencing them myself would set me off lmao. Great job on the platinum
This is a game worth playing. It's not great in most ways but at least pretty good and solid in every way. The amazing and colorful graphics is awesome but sound design is just perfect
i played kena a couple days ago and got the platinum trophy with glitching my way through the master difficulty😂 it's was such a beautifully amazing game. loved it so much. and fun fact, it was the first souls-like game I've actually finished.
I'd really like to see you try and plat Alien: Isolation. Pretty fun plat with only about 3 or 4 semi-grindy trophies. *if* you do decide to do it, don't use the Stun baton for the "Mercy or Prudence" trophy, because it counts as a kill I learned the hard way. Great video on Kena, too.
I absolutely loved this game. I started it on PS5 and then replayed on PS4. Since I already knew what to do the second platinum playthrough was 14 hours
The cursed chests can also be redone. There's a chest in the Dock area close to the warp point that spawns a mage and another enemy which was a good place for me to go for several of the combat achievements. Though farming that one respawning enemy is basically the only way to get Karma once you've finished the game.
That’s crazy man, I felt like this platinum was really simple. Idk if my past experiences with similar combat styles games like Ghost Of Tsushima helped, but it never felt too difficult
Jealous that you got to play Master difficulty on the first playthrough. I was not ready for the difficulty spike when I did my NG+ on Master. Thanks to another RUclipsr, FuzzyBearbarian, I was able to see what I needed to do for the boss fights and build up my execution. Took awhile, especially the last boss fight buy it was so worth it.
I'm new to your channel but definitely here to stay! This was such a fun journey and Kena is such a gem of a game to play and im glad it's getting more love. If you do take game recommendations I would say The Pathless could be an interesting game to Platinum, definitely not as long or as difficult as Kena but it shares some similarities and I personally really enjoyed my time playing it and it can be a more relaxing change of pace with tons of collecibles, rich story and beautiful art. Another game with a similar vibe and artsy feeling is Concrete Genie, also a simple and fun experience I'd love to maybe see a video about.
If you're interested, I ended up playing Concrete genie when I did the 10 platinums in 10 days! I will add The Pathless onto my ever growing list though! Thank you for the support 😊
Bro I love your content so much, so fresh compared to other platinum creators, also I just completely platinumed The Last Of Part 2, got the grounded and permadeath trophys. You have seriously inspired me bro made love. Also you should try to platinum Days Gone really fun game to platinum and great game in general. I played through the whole game on my channel, it's so fun.
Thank you bro! Really appreciate the support it means a lot! 😊 Did you enjoy TLOU2? After earning the platinum I can personally say its one of my favourite games! The story is so good once you actually open up to it! I'll 100% add days gone to the list! I did attempt it before but never finished the game, would love to give it another go!
I really loved the The Last Of Us Part 2 even before platinuming it, Honestly having that 100% achievement bar makes it seem like am certified for some reason. It so hard to play at max difficulty, but the challenge is the reward. Now I just got to platinum the remake.
I agree! I couldn't just platinum TLOU2, I had to send it off in the best way possible! It's an amazing game and such a great 100% experience even with the difficulty! Thank you again man! I really love making these videos and the support recently has been insane! I will continue to keep it fresh don't you worry 🤝
Man... You made me remember how utterly beautiful, yet infuriating this game was. I beat it prior to the massive update and only played it on normal, but man the end game was still rough even on that difficulty. Even with having done literally everything before playing the final boss. All meditation (prior to the final one), all rots, all abilities. Still rough as hell. All in all, still a gem I would recommend to anyone. Such a great experience!
I got the platinum when this game released so I had to do 2 runs which I wasn't that excited about. So I just beat the game on normal 100% and then I did half the game on master and tried to finish it with speed runs strats. something I didn't think would be hard at the time. in short the speed runs for this game are insane
You should do crash 4. I’m sure you know that it’s really hard, but it isn’t unmanageable and the game itself was really well made. While frustrating, it was super rewarding and felt kind of like a rite of passage into trophy hunting for me.
I recently went back to this game and platinumed too it was so rewarding but god did it test my sanity… Also you can heavy attack mages out of their heals.
Nice work on getting the plat on 1 run.. boss mode ! I did it in two runs.. loved the game, though hated the final boss.. hope if/when they do a sequel they don't do something like that again. Otherwise, fun ann surpringly challenging game.
Got this platinum as well, it was pretty hard. Ever tried getting all the trophies for A Hat in Time, DLC included? That is for me, the peak of difficulty trophy-related and challenge-wise.
That beginning scene with Toshi, and the camera panning over the sword is a phenomenal foreshadow

I still need to start on the 3 relic bosses for Toshi, but the Rot God is already giving me nightmares because of how nerve wrecking and time intensive every attempt is going to be 😰
I'm so stuck on Corrupted Toshi, well done on completing the platinum challenge 👍😊
Great video mate, high quality and very well made. Glad I found the channel, subscribed. Now, excuse me while I binge watch your previous videos!
Enjoy! My personal favourite is TLOU2 video :) Thank you for the support man, it means so much! 💜
I like the idea and the content you provide such amazing work brotha glad i found you
Gotta respect those insane platinum hunters 😂
This game gives off so much jak n daxter vibes and Im all in for it
I would say more like Avatar The Last Airbender, in my opinion
15:30 bro was trying to be the black blade from Elden ring 😂
Yeah I plat this a year or so ago before the update to do it in 1 playthrough. I really like the game and the hardest difficulty almost makes the game a Souls game with how you have to memorize what the enemy does when you inevitably die
Your Videos are so entertaining, you deserve so much more Subscribers
Appreciate it brother 🤝
"Cartoon dark souls"
Damn, i thought it was Cuphead lol
what a nice video! congrats for the plat too
This was such a fun game. I hope they make more games.
Looks like it's worth it for sure! Just don't know if I have the guts to play on the hardest difficulty, we'll see 😂@@Satiire
@@zOberTheTop I think you'd be able to do it for sure! I had my doubts too and almost quit a few times but eventually, you do start to understand the game
The final boss is insane though 😭
Yeah I'm scared for some of those boss fights, especially the last one. I'll give it a go though! Looking forward to more platinums from you!@@Satiire
I did the exact thing you did by modding the pc game at release in order to be able to play on Master on the first playthrough. Man, it was extremely fun!!
Wow, I've NEVER heard of this until now
Make me kick my feet back and fourth every time I see u post Tehehehe
Waaaaaaaaaaah watching the brother meet with his siblings again still gets me.
It's an amazing game! The platinum is so rewarding too so I'm not suprised you went for this one! Good job man 🤝
@@Satiire my last two are Returnal and Sifu. If i got them they are attainable. 😅 Just finished Rollerdrome and i’m weighting up if i should go for its platinum.
You got a new subscriber. 🫡
I got stuck on the wolf guy on the hardest difficulty and gave up.
I made a video about this plat recently as well. I took the other route of doing a normal playthrough and then a Master playthrough on NG+. I wish I had done it your way; Master NG+ Corrupted Woodsmith was the hardest boss I've ever fought.
Watching this takes me back. This game was something special. Soooooo hard though!!!
What a beautiful game...
Fantastic game. Made even more impressive since it's a debut title from a tiny studio (less than 40 people total).
I think I've heard you say "This is one of the hardest fights of the entire game" like 30 times no joke LMAO
i played kena a couple days ago and got the platinum trophy with glitching my way through the master difficulty😂
it's was such a beautifully amazing game. loved it so much.
and fun fact, it was the first souls-like game I've actually finished.
Thank you bro! I'll add alien isolation to my growing list of games and will try it out at some point! I'll make sure to ignore the stun baton too 🤝
Best game on earth
This gave me PTSD. The visuals are so deceiving....this game was SOOOO hard.
Congrats, I really enjoyed this game got the platinum in the first 2 weeks.
I absolutely loved this game. I started it on PS5 and then replayed on PS4. Since I already knew what to do the second platinum playthrough was 14 hours
I might have to do the same, it's a great game and I do have both versions! 🙃
great video as always! I'm defiantly going to plat this one in the future
It's a great game bro! I'd 100% recommend it :)
Great video! Just want to point out that with the free DLC you can have unlimited combat encounters by doing the trials in the village
I didn't know this, thank you for the info man! I might go back at some point to earn the outfits and DLC hats so I'll check out the trials too! 🙏
@@Satiire Oh my god that was you! I just realized looking through your channel I've seen that video before! Big brain moment for sure.🤦♀
Did you enjoy TLOU2? After earning the platinum I can personally say its one of my favourite games! The story is so good once you actually open up to it!
I'll 100% add days gone to the list! I did attempt it before but never finished the game, would love to give it another go!
I really loved the The Last Of Us Part 2 even before platinuming it, Honestly having that 100% achievement bar makes it seem like am certified for some reason. It so hard to play at max difficulty, but the challenge is the reward. Now I just got to platinum the remake.
Again though, seriously man your content is amazing, keep it up, keep it fresh and you'll be huge one day. I will be there for the journey.
I agree! I couldn't just platinum TLOU2, I had to send it off in the best way possible! It's an amazing game and such a great 100% experience even with the difficulty!
Thank you again man! I really love making these videos and the support recently has been insane! I will continue to keep it fresh don't you worry 🤝
I got tje platinum trophy a long while ago. This is one of my favorite PS5 games so far and i loved it. It felt like a Disney animated movie.
I agree, the cutscenes feel like you're watching a movie! It's such a great game, I had an amazing time with it too 😊
As much as this game made me bite into my desk. it was absolutely beautiful.
30:55 that boss literally had me exclaim COOL
I’m going crazy over this trophy 😵💫 the hard difficulty kills me. I really love this game but i’m so frustrated 😣
Such a great experience!
i got this platinum but i had to cry blood tears to get it, no souls game is this hard.
Love the way you Sabotage yourself not getting the powerups that you"ll collect anyeay later
Completely forgot how incredible this game looks, GG on platinuming this basically the hardest way possible haha!
An amazing experience! I hope they end up making a second one or in general a new IP as the studio clearly has great attention to detail!
absolutely love this game and I'm thinking of going back to it very soon
I got the platinum when this game released so I had to do 2 runs which I wasn't that excited about. So I just beat the game on normal 100% and then I did half the game on master and tried to finish it with speed runs strats. something I didn't think would be hard at the time. in short the speed runs for this game are insane
Such an overlooked amazing game
V happy I never have to play this game again after getting the plat, literal torture
You should do crash 4. I’m sure you know that it’s really hard, but it isn’t unmanageable and the game itself was really well made. While frustrating, it was super rewarding and felt kind of like a rite of passage into trophy hunting for me.
I love this game so much that i obtained the platinum trophy without any issues plus i enjoyed the process too
such a good game ... only having the rots following around with their cutes hats is reason enough to play it
I recently went back to this game and platinumed too it was so rewarding but god did it test my sanity…
Also you can heavy attack mages out of their heals.
Good to know, thank you! The whole healing mechanic is super annoying 😅
Glad to see you managed to fight through it for the platinum though!
Nice work on getting the plat on 1 run.. boss mode !
I did it in two runs.. loved the game, though hated the final boss.. hope if/when they do a sequel they don't do something like that again. Otherwise, fun ann surpringly challenging game.
The final boss was something I struggled on a lot too but the adrenaline rudh after defeating it was 100% worth it!
This game is too underrated
I will install it just to play it again
Got this platinum as well, it was pretty hard.
Ever tried getting all the trophies for A Hat in Time, DLC included? That is for me, the peak of difficulty trophy-related and challenge-wise.
Kena is honestly the game I wanted Recore to be!
