- On June 17, 1967, Patrol Inspectors Theodore L. Newton, Jr. and George F. Azrak, conducting traffic checkpoint duties near Oak Grove, California, failed to report in at the end of their shift. This is the story of the events that transpired after their disappearance.
The death of these two heroes also prompted the inception of the Newton-Azrak Award. This annual award is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon its recipients for acts of bravery or heroism. It serves as a reminder of the dangers and sacrifices demanded of the men and women who protect our Nation's borders.

This is really well presented. Thank you so much for such an in-depth look into the background of this story and award. Monumentally this case is still a hurt to the people directly affected; but not everybody remembers such events or is/was privy to such detailed information, as that era was before the internet, & the public's access to it, into the information era. So let us remember. Let us not ever forget these agents or their sacrifices, their ultimate sacrifices, made in the name of protecting US, and leaving a legacy for all agents to come. They are the blueprint. I salute them, words are truly inadequate. Again thanks for such a great video.
Thank you so much for your feedback and support. Please share!
