On this episode of Edge of a Nation we travel to the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, NM! Do you think you have what it takes? #fitness #border #motivation
Our son arrived two weeks ago at the academy in Artesia. Being a Marine Corps Veteran myself he went well prepared. Proud of everyone who protect our country🫡🇺🇸
I applied during the big hiring surge, at the time that i applied i had been in law enforcement for five years. I also had a secret security clearance. After 3 years of successfully completing every step of the hiring process, the only step left was the polygraph. I had taken prior ploygraphs successfully, so i was not worried at all. The CBP polygraph is still the only poly that I have ever failed. The examiner was rude, rough, and wanted me to perjur myself. I stood up for my morals. I will not go against my morals for any job.
Beautiful video of your training in ARTIZIA N.M. Thank u all Border Patrol Agents for your training & to equipped them to the battle field in our U.S.BORDERS, THANKS TO U ALL BORDER PATROL AGENTS KEEP UP YOUR GUARD UP.KEEP ON BEING RESILIENT & VIGILANT IN THIS HARD TIMES ,GOD BLESS U ALL & THANK U 4 YOUR SERVICE & SACRIFICES U DO 24/7 #HONOR FIRST 💚🇺🇲💚☝️
I'm a special operations veteran from the Marine Corps and applied to USBP back in 2017. They failed me on every single polygraph I went to and would never tell me why. I stuck with their process for five full years and it never paid off. Absolute waste of time.
When it comes to polygraphs I hate to say it but if they like you they will pass you. If not they won't. That's just how it is. I have seen guys in similar shoes being prior military, and local law enforcement and for whatever reason not passing poly for USPB
@@markhicks1687 I heard from someone else on the inside that they don't like to hire former special operations guys because they think they're too hard to retrain. Or some other nonsense. Really stupid. Just tell me you don't want me and don't waste my time for five years.
I had the same, except that I was not a veteran. I had an education and good job experience to back me up. I went in ready, clean record, like a speeding ticket but that's it. We sit down, the guy does not like that I ask a lot of question about the process (I was in the process with Secret Service but withdrew my app for personal reasons), tells me he knows about SecrServ (I wonder how lol). Then we get to a polygraph and the very last question gets flagged (mind you, I was in the chair for about 4 hours at that point, his equipment did not cooperate, he wanted to ask me questions multiple times, what have you...). Then that very last question comes in, he does not like what the poly shows. He goes, I need to get a good result on this one question here or I am going to fail you. I am like, IDK what to tell you, I am just here answering yes or no. Yeah, I was worried back then but that was it. So he effectively fails me after I did not give the "right" answer lol After that, I stopped pursuing that career. I realized that being stationed in the crappy places in the beginning of my career for miserable pay would not be worth it. I realized I can serve my country better elsewhere.
@@rOstwald Exactly, they tried to get me to perjur myself too. They want you to tell them what they want to here, even though its not true. Thats a crime on itself. I would not lie to appease them, so they failed me. No job is worth going against my morals to get.
Finally a video that brings the agency to a high standard. Not showing too much undisciplined people. The uniform looks good, the workouts look good, keep it up and maybe you will be able to recruit more quality candidates.
You have no idea how good these guys and gals are. You should try it, but a creep like you could never do it Your the one who needs discipline. In more ways than one.
@andygamez-vk6zm We appreciate your feedback and it has been taken into consideration. Expect more of these in-depth follow alongs from Vincent Vargas soon. We are in production now!
I was class 440, Charleston and was thinking the same thing. We did not have a high-speed gym and could not have beards. We did not have tac vest or comfy uniforms. At the end of the day Charleston was excellent for off duty activities. I had a blast in my off-duty time.
Rocco...you should asked that kid what battalion after he said he served in the 75th Ranger Regiment...Guy has no clue who you are who you served with...SUA SPONTE Rocco
I've been a Deputy for 4 years, have a bachelor's degree. Fto and firearms instructor. Colorado Naitive born in Denver. Aurora Colorado is about 30 mins from my house. Venezuelan gangs in my state is enough for me to take action. What steps do I need to take?
Disappointing that a simple not reliable test such as the polygraph disqualifies you. I personally have 2 friends one is a BP agent the other a US Customs and both used drugs in high school how they “passed” the polygraph is unknown because I for sure know using drugs disqualifies you from getting hired.
@@raidzmann4716 It does but my friends actually lied on the polygraph saying no drugs my point here is that the polygraph is not reliable and they still use to disqualify you
the academy has gone easy just like army boot camp .. most of my fiends when in 02-05zz i turned it down in 05, ended up having a much successful career working on drilling rigs . i'me currently making 320k a year while my friends with 20 years in have never made over 100k .. and not to mention they can care less about doing there job since the current administration sucks !!
I’ve applied twice and got shot down both times. My 2nd attempt I made it through the entire hiring process, and a couple of hiccups came up during my adjudication phase. I will try one more time after my contract with the army ends. 3rd times the charm.
@@YElK. interesting I’m looking to doing army national guard reserve once my contracts ends next year and I’m still exploring my options on what other job I want to do while on a reserve unit
@@Smoki501 brother like I said… I’ve tried 2 times with border patrol. Got denied twice. My 2nd time I had a favorable polygraph result, and they STILL denied me. But like I said, I will try one more time. 3rd times the charm.

What's the point of all these pretentious military training when most of you never actually fight or stop illegal immigration, and in fact, help illegals cross the border?

@semperfi210 Thank you so much for you letting us know! That is great.
This is what usbp needs more social media activity, on the positive note. Rocco is just the guy to do it.
@danielmurrietta9775 thank you for your thoughts! We appreciate that.💚
Going through the hiring process now. I can’t wait to train and work with great individuals.
Great job Rocco! Thanks for showcasing these young men and women.
Good job on the 25 bench rep. There needs to be more of these video's on the border patrol.

Excellent video! Way to represent! Glad the Patch Run is still a thing…brings back memories! Keep up the good work Comms!

Remember when they didn’t let us close our eyes for the OC?
Class 406
class 476 here, and you're right! we had to keep our eyes opened during the OC spray.
I hope every video is like this , not like the nonsense stuff USBP just to do.
Class #666
"all i lift is chest" - definately gonna be me in the academy during the 1.5 runs lol.
Loved it! Why are the first two episodes so short? Shame they weren’t full 30min episodes

Your probably better off staying a deputy. The Border Patrol isn't aloud to do there jobs anymore. The Border is Wide Open.
What an excellent video. Truly shows what these agents go through to protect our borders! I slaute you guys protecting our borders.🫡
How many weeks is the academy?
I think it’s 6 months
The size of some of the trainees is very concerning. Don't you have pre screen?

The new Patrol
What the heck is that …. 🤢

Great video but the amount of time spent on his experience with the OC spray and the BPPC was unnecessary

Do they go through this rigorous training and later spend their shift counting and processing illegal immigrants at the border? 😂😂😂
