  • The build of my 79 Centurion jet boat carries on. Slowly, I am inching closer to the finish line. I have a few loose ends that I need to tackle so I can finish up the woodwork and the fiberglass work in the front half of the boat.
I have been considering a modification to the bulkheads that I previously installed into the boat for some time. Well, today is the day. I decided to push forward with my plan and get them modified. This modification will be both aesthetic and functional.
Plus, I need to address and finalize the fiberglass work in the front of the boat. Once this is all done, I have one small add on that I have been patiently waiting to install.
Getting these items off the to-do list will allow me to focus on the next big project... Applying the gelcoat to the inside of my bilge.

    About AutoTechNick:
Growing up in rural Oregon, I was always around Hot Rods & Race Cars. I imagine my early exposure to this culture ignited a spark of interest in cars, which remains my passion.
🎓 I am a proud Alumni of Wyoming Technical Institute, where I studied Automotive Technology, Performance Engine Building & Street Rod Fabrication. In addition to "WyoTech," I graduated from the BMW Service Technician Education Program, more commonly known as BMW S.T.E.P.
🏎️ I spent nearly ten years working in various BMW dealerships as a Master Technician. After a move back home to the PNW, I found myself no longer servicing German-made machines but now working with Italians. I spent nearly another ten years as a Ferrari Master Technician & Shop Foreman at a local Ferrari dealership.
🏆 Ferrari selected me as one of 12 technicians worldwide to compete in the "Ferrari Testa Rossa Awards" for four years consecutively. Finishing in 3rd place in 2016, & in 2019 I was able to place in 1st, winning the competition & earning the title of the "Top Ferrari Technician in the World!"
🚀 As my time with Ferrari came to an end, a new career path awaited me…. Aerospace. I am currently working at Blue Origin, helping to build & develop the BE-3PM and BE-3U rocket engines.
With my new career path, I needed an outlet for my automotive passion, thus the reason for this channel…

A new tow vehicle for your boat? My favourites would be a 84 Grand Wagoneer or maybe a 85-87 Suburban K20 Silverado with the 6.2 and a Banks Turbo Kit? 😁

The suburban would be very cool. But I can confirm that the new one is not a tow rig…

You’re switching scales and doing a rebuild of the 1/8th scale STI looking lonely on the top shelf? 😁

I have no good reason why those are still sitting up there collecting dust... But the new project is full scale, not 1/8th... 😉

Only thing I was thinking as you were cutting out the bulkheads is an amp rack for some tunes, lost that good flat surface for them. I have mine under the dash but with all the work you’re doing, what’s the plan for the stereo?
Great work. Really enjoy this series

😬 your the first person to ask about a stereo…. Well I rather not install a system into the boat for a lot of reasons.
We just take a good Bluetooth speaker and toss it up under the bow. One would be surprised at how much the music is amplified, and how good it sounds. I know
It’s not glamorous, but it’s all we need.

I was looking for the video where you install the intake. Not many good jet boat vids on fb. Just basic stuff like adjusting cables and stuff. Yours is much more what Im doing with mine. So did i miss it somehow or have you not done it yet?

I have not set my intake yet. I am working on gel coating my bilge at the moment, which will be the next video I cover on the jet boat build. Once that is done I will be swiftly moving on to setting the intake. So keep an eye on the channel for those videos.
