I agree with you. Christmas is not the same with all your children around. The memories of them running down the stairs to open their gifts and the sound of laughter. I miss the old days. I made ham salad with the leftover ham we had.
Anyone watching this video please leave a comment and share this video it helps her channel so much. That is the least we can do for her if we enjoy her videos. It is a lot of work making videos and good-quality videos are hard to come by. She has good quality videos with good content and no annoying MUSIC or unnecessary chit-chat.
Our Christmas meal is very similar to yours. We had ham with a glaze, cheese potatoes , sausage bread stuffing, green bean casserole, homemade yeast rolls, sweet potato casserole. For dessert, we had snickerdoodle and spritz cookies. We will also have this for the rest of the week. I agree with you, Vicki, Christmas isn’t the same when your children are grown. Both of my girls live out of state, no grandchildren, and neither came home for Christmas.
Ever since you introduced me to the Herb de Provence, I use it a lot in my kitchen. It has such a wonderful savory taste. I spent Christmas Eve with my family, so it was just wonderful. Christmas day my husband and I usually have dinner alone too. But, my one son and his family joined us this year, so it was really nice. I want to wish you and your family a Happy New Year. How is Amanda? I pray for her often. I pray for her healing. God is powerful enough to heal her of this disease. Please let her know that I'm thinking of her! 💞💞💞
Hi, Vicki-I just wanted you to know that I mentioned your channel in a “from scratch” FB group. I love your content and hope this helps your channel grow. Blessings.
We have started having our main meal on Christmas Eve, then Christmas day the kids and grandkids can have the day to themselves, usually with friends. My dil made a rib roast, I made corn casserole, glazed carrots, and instead of potatoes, I made scalloped turnips (a family favorite), Thanksgiving is our traditional turkey, dressing, etc. Happy New Year to you and yours!
I would make the pie with biscuits or potatoes on top. I would not use both. Tater tots are also good on top as well as a sourdough batter topping. So flexible a such a warm, cozy meal. That’s a big chicken!
#grammyschallenge I am going to do this I have so much frozen food in my freezers that I need to use. I lost one freezer with my beef and pork but I still have a lot in my other 2 freezers. I have to say since I have been watching your videos I have learned so much @ 72 and I have cooked more than since the kids were home. I had just got out of cooking. I am still wanting to try to make your biscuits I had never used plain flour before but had son-in-law to pick me up a 25-pound bag. He made your pizza crusts for me. I did watch a video on LaRosas pizza and I used their sauce. I could not figure out your recipe for pizza sauce. I like it a little sweet and LaRossa's sauce is sweet. It is from Cincinnati a family-owned chain and everything My hubby and son-in-law and daughter go to the Red's game they bring back one for me. If you like sweet sauce you might check it out.
I love this turkey dish I will try this dish. I have 2 turkeys in the freezer. I want to can some the way you canned this and made this dish. I still haven't made the biscuits and I want to freeze some. I am wondering how the biscuits would be if they were thawed first in the pan before baking and just baked till they were done then put the ingredients on top.
Wish my husband would eat left overs. There is not many vegetables he will eat and he don’t like things that have been frozen.Makes it so hard on me.I cook every day and it is so hard trying to figure out what to cook.
I think I would but the potato balls on the bottom then the filling and then the biscuits

I love how you cook. You remind me of my Auntiie who was so organized and methodical in her approach for cook. Great video!!!

Is your cast iron skillet rusty, or is that normal? I’m thinking of getting cast iron, but my friends tell me they are a pain to keep clean
