My blended family has a lot holiday commitments and visit my home last. By then they've eaten a lot, so a few years ago I started having soups and grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner. I usually fix a vegetable beef soup and an Italian sausage soup. I make big batches so they can take home leftovers. I think everyone appreciates the change of pace.
I got your cookbook! I tried your meatloaf recipe my husband said that so far is the best meatloaf I have made, I told him to thank you. I can't wait to try some of your other recipes in the book.
One great thing about your cookbook is that it opens flat. I read it cover to cover the day it came! And the meatloaf recipe and bread recipe will be the first two I make! Beet Borscht is close behind!
Having those canned soups on hand is smart for your homestead and for sharing with the community when they are feeling under the weather or needing food support. Blessings for a healthy and prosperous 2025. 🥰🐾🌱
I am not homestead person but love to watch you! I think you are amazing and you work so hard! It seems like a wonderful lifestyle and all your hard work sure pay off 🥰 I admire you so much!
It’s wonderful to see you feeling better! I’ve been sick for a few days now and have no homemade convenience foods, so I’m trying to enjoy store bought convenience foods. I can definitely taste the difference and feel the difference in my digestive system. I really ned to learn how to use my new electronic canner and get so food put on the shelf! Hope the family is well. Hugs, Doc❤
Dear friend, send me an email and I'll give you a free month of the membership. You'll find all sorts of encouragement in there for canning. Lots of new canners.
I love that you save and can the tomato liquid when making sauce. Not only is it great for soups, but I find it soothing to warm and drink when I have a cold. Love your content!🥰
To avoid frequent chopping for soups, I take a little time about once a month to make "soup starter". I cut up onion, carrot, and celery and put a cup of each into freezer bags, and pop into the freezer. I usually do 5 bags at a time. This starts most of the soups I make and makes it so much easier to pull together.
I recently made a couple recipes from your digital cookbook…Egg Salad and Tomato Soup. Both were delicious! After watching this video I will make Squash Soup next. Yummy!
I'm ashamed to admit, I almost let my turkey carcus go to waste because of exhaustion, but instead, I listened to your video and made a very healthy broth for my family! Thank you for the motivation! ❤
I ordered the Kitchen Aid food processor from the company after waiting 2 months for it to come back in stock. No stores or Amazon had it in stock. I am so happy with it and it will get a good workout with next years garden. Love the dicing attachment. Loved your video today.
I made my first soup last week! It was easy and I wouldn't use beef sausages again. Thank you for your encouragement. I have all the ingredients for collard greens, yet haven't had low enough pain yet to make it, but hopeful for each day.
I agree with you, preparing family lunches have always been a struggle for me. One pot meals in the middle of the day really help with clean up too. The soups look delicious. i am enjoying my cookbook!. Thank you for all that you do. Lee
I made up a soup recipe, Roasted sweet potato and red pepper. The colour is gorgeous , a deep red orange. I put a little mixed spice in it too. Lovely.
Love this vlog - I love soup and am going to make some this week and some homemade bread - yummy! Chelsea, you are such a great inspiration to me and the LMR community! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I agree with you about lunch! Thinking about supper is all my brain can think about most days! Usually my family does their own, but there are only 3 in my family. Not sure how this would work with more people. I mom always made lunch for the 5 in our family. Also my sister does the same for her family of 4.
Happy New Year! I'm so glad you're feeling better. Just wanted to mention that poppy seeds need a cold period before planting in order to bloom...just like spring bulbs. If you plant them in the spring they may not come up. When your seeds come, put them jn the fridge for a few weeks prior to planting. I'm sure they'll look awesome.
Have you tried to can your tomato soup, just add the baking soda and cream when you open them and heat up. I just canned split pea soup with leftover ham.
Glad you are better. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and will have a great New Year. Great video. I love soups anytime of the year, but especially in winter or not feeling well. I am looking to bulk up my pantry with meals in jars and soups for quick meals and lunches. I work full time outside of the home, and my schedule varies from day to day and week to week. It is never the same. Trying to kick totally kick the fast food diet. It quickly packs on the pounds. Even restaurant foods pack on the pounds. I am capable of making anything I would buy. Thanks again for sharing this video. Possibilities abound.
I watched until the end and I didn’t see where you used your cubes of potatoes.. all your soups looked absolutely delicious.. especially the tomato soup and the squash soup.. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you and your family a very Happy Healthy New Year…🎉
Big fan of your channel! I made your thumbprint cookies for Christmas, and they were so good! My husband and I loved how soft and fluffy they were! I will definitely be making them next Christmas as well! :)
Thank you Chelsea for the soup recipes! I was just looking for soup recipes and saw your post. Looks yummy! You sound much better; glad you are feeling better! 😀💕👍👍👍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
So inspiring to make soups I would love to spend a couple of days with you learning your tricks of the trade. Love all what you do. Glad you're feeling better. Stay well my friend 💕🤗
💚 Lovely Souper Soups! I just made my first ever pressure-canned turkey broth, a bit of a learning curve with the canner, but you, and several others, have helped me feel more confident in finally giving it a GO!💚
They all look so delicious. I adore eating soup. It slows me down, I get full faster, I enjoy the flavor and REALLY love having it canned as fast food since I know it is so very good for me.
Fantastic looking soups made with love & beautiful home grown produce! Thanks for sharing! I’m excited to try some! Happy New Year blessings to all 🤗🇨🇦🌲
I love that you used leftover mashed potatoes in that soup. I need to remember to do that!! Have you ever frozen your leftover mashed potatoes and then used those later?
Those soups look so yum my boys hate soup I’m the only only one who eats it so for me I really can’t be bothered cooking soup for one but I wish I was there to have some I make home made bread nearly daily I’m saving up to get one of those mixers from Sweden they now ship to Australia which is exciting for me as I have to make bread by hand and with my bad shoulder it isn’t fun but love the taste of home made bread
No, we did it last year and I feel like I learned what I was hoping to from it. We are planning on keeping the grocery budject pretty tight though and just buy fruits and veg.
Love watching your videos, I get so much inspiration from your recipies. Hoping you and your family had a great Christmas and wishing you a happy new year. Here in New Zealand it's just struck midnight so happy new year from us down under.
None of the page numbers match with my cook book I bought, and I can't find the minestrone or squash soup recipes you mentioned. Do you have different cook book versions?
Yum I love your soup recipes.By the way you said something about Canadian cookbooks available on your website what’s the difference between the Canadian cookbooks and the other cookbooks?
I’m confused. You said you were going to freeze the soups. But you used the canner. And when you freeze the soups do you freeze them in jars? That squash soup looks so good. All the soups do. I really want to can soup. But we’re new to this. Thank you for an awesome video.
These videos showing how you use your pantry products are so useful! Thank you for showing us ways to use up what we have in our pantry.

Thank you so much for sharing! I was really hoping you showed us less experienced people how you freeze your soups or what you put it in. 😊
Just in ziplock bags and into the freezer once cooled.
@ Thank you so much!
Received my cookbook on Monday. I can’t wait to start using it! I think the hardest part is going to be picking my first recipe ❤

I’m making pea soup as I watch your prep. Smells AND looks like heaven here. I could have soup every day! Happy new year!
Happy New Year Chelsea!
Thank you for the video and Happy New Year!!
This popped up right as I was getting some chicken noodle soup going in the pressure canner❤
If you actually use noodles in your canned soup, which kind do you use? I have heard they don’t hold up being canned that long.
@@cynthiafisher9907add the noodles when you open the jar to use. We prefer homemade noodles.
I am trying to figure out how to pass a bowl through the screen on my computer. You are making some amazing food! Keep up the good work.
LOL - I would if I could.
Soup looks delicious, I love Soup when it's cold and not feeling well. Thank you for sharing. Have a happy new year.
🎉HAPPY NEW YEAR CHELSEA AND FAMILY 🎉⏳️
I love that you used leftover mashed potatoes in that soup. I need to remember to do that!! Have you ever frozen your leftover mashed potatoes and then used those later?
I honestly think this might be the first time we've ever had leftovers that didn't get eaten. We had 2 turkey dinners so that's why I did this time.
Very appetizing!Just a suggestion: Add barley to your vegetable soups. It makes it more nourishing.
They all look amazing!! I'll have to try these! So you remove the seeds from your tomatoes?
No, I don't mind them.
Are you doing the Three Rivers Pantry Challenge this year? Happy New Year.
No, we did it last year and I feel like I learned what I was hoping to from it. We are planning on keeping the grocery budject pretty tight though and just buy fruits and veg.
everything looks so delicious; Hope your Christmas was good and Happy New Year to you and your Family. God Bless!!
Love watching your videos, I get so much inspiration from your recipies. Hoping you and your family had a great Christmas and wishing you a happy new year. Here in New Zealand it's just struck midnight so happy new year from us down under.
I don't use coconut milk, so what type would be best? I'm glad you are feeling better.
You could add cream.
I love soup.
Did the ebook of your new cookbook already go out?
None of the page numbers match with my cook book I bought, and I can't find the minestrone or squash soup recipes you mentioned. Do you have different cook book versions?
Someone please help. Am I the only one who bought the different version of her cookbook?
Most of the soup recipes are in the second edition which came out in October 2024.
Mayby can the potato and just add too the soups later when you eat it.
Yum I love your soup recipes.By the way you said something about Canadian cookbooks available on your website what’s the difference between the Canadian cookbooks and the other cookbooks?

Whats the difference between freeze drying and dehydrating herbs?

I froze the minstone and the squash soup. We ate the tomato soup for lunch and I canned the turkey soup.
@@LittleMountainRanch do you freeze them in the jars?
Can we see the final Christmas gift baskets?
