As someone with ASD, ADHD, Synesthesia and CPTSD (all diagnosed) this dudes music has kept me alive many times. From SYL to his current work, it just speaks to all of those parts of my personality and made/makes me feel less alone. It’s only recently, with me getting diagnosed and trying to fix it all and Dev opening up about his journey that I realised why. I’m now completely med free and on the path to healing properly. I know you’ll not read this but….thank you for baring your soul and putting it out there Devin. It’s more than just music to me. It’s a path to follow from someone who has similar wiring, has had similar experiences and is further along that path than I am.
    Apologies for the infodump 😉🤘🏼

Forgiving yourself is huge. Can easily seem like a self-obsessed thing to do, so i never really paid much mind to it, but if you can forgive yourself your unconsciousness, the greater your compassion for the unconsciousness you'll see in others

the anti-psychotic meds he was taking are what was keeping him in his christ complex? is that a known side effect, like doing the exact opposite of what they're supposed to?

@@dominique8620 Correct - he's saying that he was in the christ complex mode due to unguided psychadelic experiences that spiralled his whole psyche into a mania-like state which was incorrectly diagnosed at the time as bipolar. The medication he mentioned is what snapped him out of that mania (even though bipolar wasn't the correct diagnosis it still helped) and it wasn't until later on that he questioned "maybe the diagnosis was wrong" which is how he got off of the medication.

Ok, so how do you meditate in a scenario where you have to forgive others that have truly ruined your daily life and your well-being and you as the person existing in this complete shit show had no control over others choices? Or is this still forgiving yourself?

I do two things when meditating that help with things like this. One is imagining putting those thoughts into a briefcase and putting them on a train. I watch that train take off taking them away. Another is creating folders and putting them in a drawer like you’re in an office. Thinking of someone you can’t forgive? Anger folder, anxiety, unforgivable. Whatever you decide to name the folder. Things that make me happy? Happy folder etc… Imagine putting them in a big ass drawer and now you have a clean desk space to work. Over time those people may go into a different folder like “I don’t care” folder and maybe one day into a “forgiven” folder. Dont dwell and just move on to the next thing you’d put in whatever folder you’ve created for those things. This helps me love more in the moment. I could be having a great time doing something and if that thing pops in your head. You just remember the folder they’re in and put it away. It’s like having a clean room in your head where you won’t dwell on the trash that used to be there. It does take time but I hope this gives you something to work with.

There's also the method of realizing that the worst people are not worthy of your cognitive space, let alone of your hatred. You don't have to forgive others in order to move on. Think of it like a smart and sane way of exerting revenge: they are simply not worthy of your hatred, emotions, or any other space within your cognition - that re-evaluation of their value to you is your act of revenge. It's a way of finding closure, which the mind oh so constantly always craves. A resolution, if you will. In other words, package your grudge in a mental box you label "not worth it", and consider that your act of revenge. May you find peace from unworthy people.

There nothing wrong with you Devi, you aren’t mental, just creative and pushed yourself too far. No one should be on meds.
