The philosophy was as follows. The KDF organization already had a number of cruise ships, like the Wilhelm Gustloff. Meant for the German workers to take a holiday cruise. A luxury unheard of for workers at that time. But the ships had too little capacity to accomodate such large numbers. Prora was meant to be a holiday sea resort. A gigantic cruise ship on land. Prora means "ship's prow" in Greek.
A large dock for these KDF cruise ships was planned for Prora. So that there would be a perfect interaction between two ways of enjoying the sea. Beach holidays and luxury cruises.

I Would Love to Take Over that Project and Continue building the Project! Open up the Resort so the Sea is Visiable and Add to it !

It’s literally a vacation residence built for workers to have a free vacation who otherwise couldn’t afford it. Imagine if our governments would spend the money to help its workers…..

Cancer could be cured and world hunger could be solved and the BBC would still put ominous music and a grey filter over everything.

0:56 - "It's soo ugly!" And the camera gives her a close-up. LOL. Must have been a camerawoman. Or, come to think of it, anyone who is not particularly into *smug twats*.

It was a place designed to give poor people a happy holiday, how evil! How is it sinister?

I think the lady hosting feels the whole area should be razed because there were once state flags flying 'for all to be star struck by', instead of trees. Hmm.

Between the ominous music and the presenters histrionic tone & commentary, and what is actually there, this nearly comes off as Pythonesque sketch

There seems an element of sneering in the commentary and an unfortunate degree of historical revisionism implied : That Germany was giving its workers a bolstering break before offing them to war - Germany didn't know it would be at WAR until September '39.
