So thats who was in paris
Imagine yourself in your local city, morning routine, buying a baguette and then out of nowhere crossing the path of tourist Hitler
I K R?!! Talk about surreal ! 🤔

Well..in the show Preacher ge sells some Sandwiches 🤔
"Hitler in Paris" sounds like the sequel to the first Hitler movie
to me it sounds like a broadway musical
Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom's next production.
He hated the Empire strikes back.
lets hope that those movies get made in the current woke climate with a black, disabled woman as hitler.
(in cool action preview voice) They thought they were safe...... but there was one thing they didn't count on!
6:02 : funny that Napoleon visited Frederick the Great tomb when he conquer Prussia and 100+ years it's a German visting a French
Well, one conqueror tips his hat to the other.
It was the Tourism of the past
Both small men with ego problems who ended in defeat.
Ozymandias And When napoleon lost his war with russia?/prussia
And yet Hitler was nothing like Napoléon in terms of genius. Also what is not told is that Hitler didn't want to bow before the French emperor (because the room is made so that you HAVE to bow before him) so he installed a system of mirrors and yet he fell miserably... :')
When you want to visit Paris without all the annoying people around so you conquer France to do it.
He was mostly all alone touring occupied Paris, just like he'll be all alone in the very hottest hell.
A shame he could not even climb the Eifel tower. He put in all this efford😂
Then he orders the place destroyed.
What a psycho he was.
My kind of plan.....
😎😁😉
Jokes are only funny when they're true.
France declared war on Germany first, lost their entire country in 6 weeks.
"People going to church recognized Hitler, but ignored him".
How very French of them to deal with tourists since 1940.
The first to win the Tour de France was the 7th German Panzer Division.
Too bad they forgot to present them with medals lol
Me and the boys on a school field trip:
I’m no Nazi but 50 marks is 50 marks.
Today ca. $250
*Reichsmark ;)
and not 50 marx!
Marks do not exist any more. Maybe after Euro Crisis in some years.
Principles are priceless.
While he was looking at Napoleons tomb he should have considered his greatest defeat . Russia
Hadnt happened yet, but i bet he was considering some of napoleon's defeats and how he powered through them to overall win. Im sure he knew, despite his ego, that most the world is about to be against him.
I found that scene mind-blowing, the most infamous meglomaniac dictator in history visiting the other most infamous megalomaniac dictator.
German defeat in Russia only because of U.S. involvement in the war. Otherwise Russia would have been defeated. Massive arms and transportation aid from U.S. through Iran and Archangel. Additionally the U.S. opened second front in Africa then Europe itself. Then bombing campaign on German industry. Without U.S. involvement we would have video of him visiting Moscow.
He did consider that. His political credo in "Mein Kampf" was 'Never wage a war on two fronts !' Why did he abandon it and acted against his better knowledge ? - is the greatest question of all. Rudolf Hess knew teh answer but the British murdered him before he could reveal it and now with his documents classified until 2041 one can be absolutely sure that Hitler was cheated into a war on two fronts by the British...La perfide Albion , Napoleon would say.
@@flynnlivescmd I think he meant Napoleon's loss of Le Grande Armée in Russia, :)
I stood in the same area (near Eiffel tower) a few weeks ago & thought about this scene.
Very educational channel! Cheers
I'm gonna keep an eye on you kid.
socalsilver I am going and want to visit all these things in this video mate any tips ?
History comes alive in those moments.
Arturo Gatti Paris, It’s so different & crowded with newer buildings, fountains and other structures nowadays but you can find approximate locations based on these scenes.
I definitely recommend going to the top of the tower. It’s an incredible place. I stayed at the Shangri-La hotel. Beautiful view of the tower
Must have bin the best day in his life.
His earthrival France defeated.
The world at his feet.
Finally had his revenge for treaty of Versailles.
The Kameleon Too bad for him and the German people that he didn’t know when to stop.
best day of his life was when he took poison
@Joseph Swanson The Germans were still in a ww1 mindstate. Their biggest rival was France then, when they had beaten France so easily the world must have really felt under their feet.
Mark can u do a video about the clean up of the battlfields of europe like there would have been a lot of leathal weapons lyeing about
It is still ongoing, day by day, on land and at sea. In France and Belgium even from the first world war.
Yes, that'd be very interesting
That would be good. He did do an episode about German personnel being forcefully enlisted to clear mines after the war.
I was in a wooded area in Holland and asked an old man about some mounds and holes. He was 10 year-old when there was a battle there in 1944. He said that the ammunition (shells) layed there for about 12 months and the kids climbed on the boxes.
Drove truck in London with a guy who as a 16 year old in 1946
Drove all over Europe collecting ordinance.
An American officer was taking out motors and privately shipping them back
He had lots of other stories like this
Didn’t know there was unreleased version that Jay Z and Kanye made
On his way to Paris, Hitler stopped off in Ypres and visited the Menin Gate. It's not recorded what he thought of this monolithic memorial but obviously he was content with its intended purpose to leave it remain for prosperity. Other WW1 memorials in France and Belgium with an anti-German message were destroyed.
He was at ypres and his unit was destroyed, 600 survivors of 3000
The Führer may have been a bit crazy, but he certainly was no fool...He knew a lot about History, Architecture, Cathedrals, Monuments, Classic Music, Literature....and having been utterly poor in his youth, he never could afford a trip to Paris to behold its beauties. That's why he took the great risk of visiting Paris just a few days after the French Capitulation...he was more than eager to see with his own eyes everything he had read about the city during years.
Pedro Lista Carey he wasn’t as crazy as his enemies would have you believe. Then again, why get information from his enemies? Would you read the Satanic Bible to learn about Christianity?
No, I think he began to go crazy midway through the war. I think his dr.s may have been sabotaging him, or just didnt realize what the amount and combining them did to his mental state.
Pedro Lista Carey 😂
Bob Loblaw lol imagine believing that shit
Actually his family were fairly well off as his father was an Austrian customs official and on a good salary. He lived well as a teenager and young man off his fathers and later his mothers pensions...
"Hitler In Paris" was released in 1940 to raving reviews and was soon followed up by 1945's disappointing "Hitler in the Bunker".
I bet when he was staring down at Napoleon's tomb, that he was thinking to himself "I'll have one surely built for me when i die".
that's exactly what i thought, too!
What did you do in the Wehrmacht during WW2? ....... Xylophone player......
I think it's a glockenspiel lol
'Glockenspiel', not xylophone...
That was a serious xylophone . It was decked out lol
they were winning the war up until the point they needed to replace him. moral wasn't the same after that.
For those wondering how much exactly was the 50 RM. During WW2 the “Reichsmark" was roughly 2.50RM to 1US$, so that's 1 US$ in 1940. One dollar in 1940 is worth $18.60 today. In other words, 1 RM would be worth $7.44 today. Thus, 50 RM would be 372$ in today's money.
Hitler drove around in an open topped car with little protection.
Meanwhile, modern French leaders have to be driven around in armoured motorcades. Really makes you think.
That all changed after the assassination of JFK.
US President also decided to drive around in an open top motourcade once, well didn't end nice for him, certainly
On top of that, those leaders are mostly democratically elected, while Hitler was an occupier and an enemy to the people. Really makes you think indeed
Alexander Sturm so what? Modern french leaders dont put their einemies into kz. Also this is propaganda. They will not show the safety measurements so people think he is a good leader. Works well with fools like you
Terrorists, you see. But even that is not an excuse, tbh. Here in the Netherlands, the prime minister goes to work by bike...
Fantastic video Mark. I love the non biased and factual coverage you bring in your videos.
@Old Corps Marine That is why he is claiming that Poland surendered and British was the only one fighting... because it is "non biased", Polish soldiers was deffending 300km of British coast, best squadron of Battle of Britain was Polish 303 and Polish destroyer discovered Bismark and made first shots at him after Churchils order to find him and sink him. In Berlin when Adolf was making decision to end his life Polish and Soviet soldiers was fighting on Berlin streats and only French in Berlin were fighting with them in 33rd Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS Charlemagne (1st French), British Free Corps suposed also be with them but they prefered to run awey...
That's true
This is becoming an addiction for me rather then an interesting perspective.. I am to the point now where I can not wait until the next video is out... Thanks for the share, carry on and be safe...
3:32 1940 Hitler drives in an open car through Paris
2019 Merkel won't dare this in Berlin
What went wrtong?
One was a conqueror who had everything under control, other an elected leader with pockets of anarchy. Question is not thought out.
Islam Extremism
Fahrer O to be fair politicians stopped riding in open topped after JFK
Damn thats true😂😂😂💔
Open top cars? Streets not guarded or cordoned off? Trump or Biden wouldn't dare do that!

"Paris survived the war largely untouched" but not the peace.
When German occupation dis less harm than the Globalist.
Mark Evans Yeah but not huge bombings...or non white immigration
This reminds me of when the History channel actually had good shows . You’re a good man ! Subscribed .
this is a good guide to sightseeing in Paris for tourists
5:09 can we just aknowledge that the tourguide pulled a "I was just doing my duty/following orders" on Hitler before it was cool post '45?
I don't think so. I think what he was thinking was "I hope you die you pig, I'll never take a dime from you" but if he had said that the next stop would have been Auschwitz. All he could do was say "Thank you no... it's my job".
wrong. to decline the tip was to subtly assert the sovereignty of himself & his duty to that palace of French culture he was entrusted with.
Just look at Paris today and wonder what happened?
All the monuments, museums and art galleries are still there.
Pretty sure it’s the same city it’s always been
@@archstanton6102 But where are all the French? I was in Paris this year and it many areas looked like the streets of Africa. The architecture was the only thing reminding me I was in France.

Probably my favourite channel of all my subscription's. Thank you for your time and effort you put into these videos Mark.
This is interesting to see Hitlers more human side. Just being fascinated by Paris
Yeah and also him trying to tip the French Guide at the Opera House, weirdly humane gesture for such an odd circumstance
kaiser doge he was very human . He fought the NWO
kaiser doge crazy right and when he was going to lose it he ordered its destruction.
@@elpidiovillarreal6246 I firmly believe that to be anti German propaganda more than anything. If you look at Dietrich's supposed "orders" to do so, then also look at how many times Dietrich lied about many other things, it is very likely that he was never ordered to do anything of that sort. Also, there is no other physical or circumstantial evidence that shows Dietrich receiving that order. Dietrich exclaimed it was just a phone call, how convincing.
It is actually more likely that Dietrich if he actually did receive that order, was unable to carry it out because at that time France was seeing a huge revolt, partisans aplenty and the allies closing in. So it is likely that IF he did receive the orders' that he was unable to carry them out due to having his hands tied given the current circumstances.
How on earth can anyone give this a thumb's down is beyond me. Mark's videos are clear, approachable, and always engaging. I don't know about anyone else, but I look forward to watching and enjoying them immensely. Keep up the excellent work Mark.
Mr. Felton, always a great pleasure to watch your videos about WW2. Congratulations for your historical research and the choice of subjects.
I want to point out a mistake in this video, he did return to Paris, to be assassinated by the Basterds in a small movie theater. A band of allied commando's, who were known to operate behind enemy lines.
One of the things that make your work so great is you share facts and footage we've never seen before.
Dont care what you say; moving the same carriage to the same spot for the french surrender was a stroke of absolute genius.

Hitler to Keitel: Your job is to carry my glasses, nothing more
Sir,
Excellent work on this historical time.
You are educating me still.
Excellent work Sir.
I highly doubt Hitler said he wanted to destroy Paris
White Male1998 yep he wanted it gone as he wouldn’t have control over it after it
Just anti German propaganda
Sounds like a "If I can't have it, no one can" moment imo.

Beautiful Pictures.
Greetings from Germany,
American Sector, Berlin.
Interesting to see his itinerary and the accompanying film, (some of which I’ve not seen before). Well done!
History Channel: Hitler visited Paris once in 1940.
Mark Felton: In between visiting the Paris Opera House and la Madeleine, Hitler bought a crepe and had a quick bathroom break.
Say what you want about Hitler, but imagine being penniless ,hungry and feeling betrayed after fighting the allies in ww1, watching your country in ruins and then accepting the surrender of 20 some years later
Didn't Adolph Galland quote Hitler as saying something like, "Give me control of Germany for 10 years and you won't recognize it."? And didn't Galland follow up by saying that after the war as he looked from his window at the unrecognizable wreckage of a German city that Hitler had been quite right?
I'll say he was an insane, megalomaniac and genocidal monster. No matter what had happened to him you can't excuse the man that became the Anti-Christ.
The Allies in WWI humiliated the German people who surrended when they were actually winning the war.
It gives me goosebumps because where he is stood I've stood myself, I couldn't help but think what he felt as Europe was in his hands
This was very early in the morning in Paris, you can see the early morning sun reflected off the wall at 5:36 min. Fascinating footage, a moment in time.

if the dude who was ordered to destroy paris refused to do it, then that is definitely the subject of a video right there :)
Dietrich von Choltitz
was the German general who disobeyed the Paris destruction in 1944. 6:54
Salute that man
@Saint Joan of Arc, heroine of France The Polish Resistance tried the same that year. Not much left of Warsaw after it ...
I like the view of Hitler, with the best architects and sculptor beside him, and the generals behind. It tells a lot.
Sublime as always Mark.....
Bravo!
Huh I can see where Speer got his ideas for that massive "Germania" model for the planned "renovation" of Berlin.
What was so secret about it ? It was filmed and it’s been shown many times on tv documentaries. My late German Grandfather was one of the soldier’s marching in Paris.
It's funny how in the thumbnail, he looks like a tourist taking a selfie, "How do I look? Do I look authoritative but like you can have a beer with me too?"
Mr. Felton; your videos and attention to historical detail is fantastic.
Very, very well done sir.
Just another holiday abroad, huh?
Wonder how Eva reacted when she found out that he had visited the city of romance without her. Did he get a way with it?
Nein mien Schatz, das war nur business. Ehrlich.
"Destroy Paris"...sounds like one of those "If i can't have it, no one can"
Stalin should sue for copyright infringement. Stalin came up with that, first!
One simply doesn't just, "destroy Paris'
Lol
Sounds like cheap propaganda
true, he also didn't want berlin to survive if it fell, so you see as you said either he has it or nobody can...
Another excellent video-I didn't realise his visit was filmed.
You can automatically click "like" for any and all of Mr Felton's excellent videos. You won't find any more informative or succinct history in just a few minutes of your attention.
5:59- Hitler actually brought Napoleon's remains back to France from Vienna as he was a great admirer of Napoleon; and Napoleon was apparently an admirer of Julius Caesar.
This channel is pure quality. Thank you sir!
I had always wondered about the lighting in that footage. Being so early in the morning makes sense.
I've seen the film of Hitler looking out to the Eiffel Tower, but have never heard or seen such detail about the entire trip. Thanks.
... and I thought I knew everything about this visit. Learned a few more details. BRILLIANT! keep up the good work. One of my favourite channels.
As usual, short and precise. Congratulations
With all the different views on battles, I am patiently waiting for Mark's video operation Market Garden.

Dr. Felton, Could you please make a video on Hitler's doubles and decoys? Thanks!
Great Video! Love all of the history from WW2!!
Love your videos on Hitler and the Germans during WW2. I always learn something new, and the video composition is great. Keep it up Sir!
Look at France now, even less free and less french.
Perhaps so , I assume Hitler's reigning style was just different ...
Just A Clown
That depend of what is France for you.
I live in Southern France in the city of Toulouse. I was in a public school and 90% of the students was whites and 75% was pure Toulousians.
Paris is an exception because 50% of the migrant population live in Paris suburbs.
But in the rest of France especially in the West, whites are a big majority like in Poland or Hungary.
No. France is Not less free, nor is it less French. You haven't even been to France or you wouldn't have made such an incredibly ignorant comment. Nor do you know what living under the Nazi occupation was like. Yes, you are "just a clown", and a dumb fuck, bigoted swine.
The French are just tired of being French, I guess.

I always thought he was just a failed artist with minimal cultural knowledge, but apparently he was a true man of culture. I wonder if he ever lamented how many historical buildings he's responsible for destroying, or his decision to refuse to surrender even when defeat was inevitable, which caused unnecessary destruction of German historical buildings. To think that a man with such admiration for art would order the destruction of Paris...
The destruction of german cities is a two sided coin. Don't forget that the big cities and their population were considered strategic targets by the allied air forces. Especially the Brits. Dresden wasn't burned to the ground because Hitler didn't surrender. It was however unnecessary. Just as destroying Paris would have been. There was no surrender. The ideology dictated victory or death long before the war.
Thanks Mark - usual uncompromisingly high standard that we have ALL come to appreciate.....
As always it is a great pleasure to enjoy your formidable WWII knowledge. Thanks
I enjoyed this greatly, I think it's your best one.. I loved how long it was compared to your others. Please keep making more.
Perhaps make a video on his visits to the world war 1 memorials
Sorry... no can do, only demonizing Allied propaganda permitted, anything that would paint the NAZI's in a positive light would run against the narrative of our post-Holocaust, white-guilt world we live and worship in now...
3:05 it is one of the most iconic pictures I personally think is taken during war, Hitler and Speer looking both at different directions.
Mark Felton , I personally thank you so very much of the very impressive and informative videos you provide for all. thank you.
you put out so much content Mark and it is all great. thank you for all the great videos!
That was an awesome video. I've never seen those clips before. You have unbelievable resources to find those gems. Everytime I get a notification for a new video - I cant get to the video fast enuff !! Again, amazing work.
Good video, thanks for posting it.
I spent time in Paris about a month ago, before we left on our trip I watched a doc. on WWII and they had video of Hitler driving in front of the Arc di Triomph and then video of General Eisenhower driving the same route. It gave me goosebumps to think of the history that had taken place as I stood in the same spot. I also spent time along the Normandy coast at Utah and Omaha beach, point du hoc and the American cemetary. I highly recommend those who are into WWII history go and see these places. I will be back. As a side not we spent two nights in a town call Bayeux in a hotel that Eisenhower stayed along with his staff, the hotel is across the street where Churchill stayed at the same time.
The details of history are not forgotten with your excellent videos.
I see why he arrived at 5:30 in the morning. Get there before the Chinese!
Really fascinating! This trip always piqued my curiosity and it’d be great if you could make a little compilation about other visits he made e.g. Rome, Florence, Prague and Brussels.
Another great upload here. Those German soldiers must have loved Paris
My wife and I went through Paris on a trip. I've always had a big interest in WW2 and several times we would be somewhere that I knew Hitler had been. I would tell her "you know, Hitler once stood exactly where you are standing". She was not amused.
:D
If mark creates it - i like it
This was huge for him it probably made him feel confidence so crazy because he must have felt he was doing so well and felt like king of the world that day.
