  • Make sure to like and subscribe to my Channel to follow me on the journey of fixing up this 1986.5 Toyota Supra. During my videos I not only cover repairs, but I also cover converting this factory 7MGE Auto to a 2JZGTE VVTi with a 5-Speed R154 manual transmission.
In this video I share how to swap COP from Denso - “Yaris” to R35 “GTR” coils. I use a hardware kit made by Motorsports Engineering and share how to modify it to properly clear the front of the valve cover. All 3 Motorsports Engineering brackets provided in the kit are alike. 2 fit perfectly fine in the middle and rear pair of coils; however, the 3rd bracket when used in the front pair of coils does not clear without shaving some aluminum.

Hey man great video! Definitely helped me out. Had 2 questions, did you have to modify the ventilation tubes and does your stock coil cover fit the valve covers

@@johnnyjeffers4764, thank you for the feedback, I’m glad it helped. No modifications were required for the crossover ventilation tubes. The 2J cover fits with room.

I didn’t end up driving with the R35 coils, so unfortunately I can’t really say. I was mocking up a harness for another Supra build. I’ve since shipped them out. I’m kind of on the fence about them.
