Meanwhile, G2 get the reverse, facing 4 LPL or LCK teams for the 2nd year running. For 2 years now G2 have been the only Western team to win a series vs an LPL or LCK team, and unless they beat the LPL champions they'll be knocked out a 2nd time. At least NRG had to beat LEC teams last year to qualify last year (and they beat all of them). Picking red side is basically picking yourself into a disadvantage. Not sure if it's disrespect, over confidence, idiocy, or a mixture and/or combination. Up until that game, there have been 17 red side wins out of 41 games in the main stage. It doesn't seem so bad when it's almost half, that is, until you realise most of the red side winners are vastly superior over their opponents, DK vs FNC, LNG vs TL, TL vs PNG, etc. There's an obvious blue side advantage on many levels, and it's been the same situation for many years now. You don't need statistics to make this side selection decision. Ayumu could do better, and he's a chimpanzee.
How would you balance that? Giving red side extra bans? Giving red side two last picks? Giving red side a hit of Vyvanse? Not flaming but it seems any advantage you give to red side can be very easily abused by a good team
@@killeryodellingmonkey4192 To be honest, if you want to balance it as much as possible, you need to identify what the blue side advantages are and eliminate them as much as possible. For example, one of the most obvious advantages is pick and bans. Blue side can target ban because they have first pick, red side ALWAYS has to ban "the OP meta" champions other they give it over. There was a brief period where red side was the more favourable side as they can counter pick last, but this issue remained, so it's obvious this needs to be addressed. We've seen so many matches where team strength is close, but the first team to play on blue side wins because every single win was on blue side. One way to offset this is to make the last game a blind pick when the scores are tied. OGN used to run this format, in a best of 5, if the match went to game 5, it was a blind pick game. Please tell me, how will this get abused? Right, it can't be. They can even extend this to best of 3s and even use blind pick for best of 1s. When every match counts in the Swiss stage, the most important thing is to eliminate as many innate factors that cause the game to be unbalanced as possible. Unlike the old group format, teams don't play on one side each against the same team as a way to give both teams the same advantage, so with the Swiss format, this becomes more important. Rito hates the idea because they don't like fair and fun, so, what can you do? The solution exists, Rito just won't implement it.
@@DanteLovesPizza well duh. I'd say the largest advantage blue side has is first pick. It forces red side to ban the strongest champs or risk playing against them. This is arguably counteracted by red side's last pick, where they can counter pick a particular champ or pull out an unexpected pick. So outside of that. What's the difference?
@@DanteLovesPizza Well i would say that the biggest addvatage of blue side is that its the strongest team that picks witch side, and thats why its so lobsided. Blue side is a small addvatage but not as large as the statistics would sugest.
@@Benji877 That's a part of the problem now. In previous tournaments with the group stage format and double round robin, teams played on both sides once. Side selection also gets decided by a coin toss in a best of 5 (not sure if it's still the case,) and there have been quite a number of best of three and best of five matches throughout the domestics and internationals that have seen blue side victories only. It's not just a "stronger team gets to pick" issue, it's a legitimate issue, and it's been like this for years, but Rito just refuses to do anything about it. A small advantage between two teams that are close in strength makes all the difference between a win and a lose.
riot is na-based,so they want at least 1 local team at worlds.that's why g2 had to play against all the strong teams (lck and lpl first seeds, world champions and world finalists) while tl only got minor regions after getting stomped
@aaabbb-zc7sx lmfao do you also believe in flat earth? Why would riot intentionally avoid the most hyped up matches possible for worlds? NA vs EU brings more attention than any of the other matchups. The only other matchup that would be close is #1 LCK vs #1 LPL.
Honestly, it feels kinda unfair to both us and the rest of the 2-2 teams. We've seen this match before both in Spring and Summer in LCS. Each team won one.. and they both look to have finally come into form now so yet again, it's a 50-50 on who wins that one.. on the other hand, all of NA is a bit inferior by compare to the East. I would love to have had a chance to see them play against G2 or DPlus Kia. On top of that, it'd give NA the opportunity (if they got lucky) to get two teams out of Swiss.. or on the opposite side, it'd give the Eastern teams a better chance to get out of Swiss themselves. All-in-all, it'd just be a win-win to avoid the same-region match.. it's really disappointing to see this so early on in Worlds.
@@Darkstormsun9865 It's not a hard draw because you have 1, or even 2, hard matches vs top teams, and any team can lose 2 and still go through. It's a hard draw if you have to beat multiple LPL or LCK teams to get through, or one of their top teams. G2 has to do both this year - beat the reigning LPL champ after already having beaten Weibo. No NA team has to beat any LPL or LCK team to qualify, let alone one of their top ones or multiple of them. I fact, for 2 years NA has got a team out of Swiss beating 0 LPL or LCK teams, this year not even needing to beat an LEC team - just minor regions and each other. Meanwhile G2 faced 4 LPL or LCK teams each year. It's pretty clear ones a hard draw and the others aren't!
@@HigherKaiju It's only about whether or not you advance by drawing LPL/LCK teams in an elimination Bo3 match, seeds are irrelevant. DK, 3rd seed, it's way worst than T1, 4th seed, but still DK just won over FNC & FLY. Like previous year, 5 first teams qualified were LCK/LPL.
@@80AM.Nah, I reckon G2 are a similar level to a 3rd or 4th seed LPL or LCK team, so 2-2 is exactly where I'd expect them to be. Having to beat the LPL #1 seed to qualify - easily the hardest team left in 2-2 - is still harsh though, especially having already beaten the other LPL team left in the 2-2 bracket.
congrats to tl for barely making it to 2-2 after losing to every major region they played against, and my condolences to g2 for their game against blg tomorrow.looks like fly will be the only western team at worlds(and the first to fly home)
FNC are a joke. A bunch of kids unable to make a decision. The amount of time they just stood waiting in the jungle is ridiculous. Let a different team go to worlds next time, you're wasting everybody's time.
As a League fan I can honestly say I'm sad that instead of getting an epic 5 match banger between 2 competitive teams, a slot is gonna be wasted on a 3-0 stomp.
If you say so.... G2 was supposed to be a 3-0 stomp too a couple years back but ended up making a run. 99.999% chance NA loses but even so that 0.001% chance is kinda exciting to think about
G2 IS #1 seed and gets all the absolute best teams exceot there very first matxh while Tl is #2 team and get all wildcard teams and will nost likly get threw the bracket this year is terrible.
Honestly that’s what NA gets for losing to a team they shouldn’t have lost to in the first place. Days before picks I absolutely called that NA would have to send NA home.
So just compare G2s way to 2-2 with TL or even BLG and I think everyone after this will see an issue. BUT this is the "beauty" of swiss stage that unexpected teams get through. However: G2 on paper is the best performing team of the 2-2 teams. Watching every game of worlds, they do the least sloppy mistakes, have good macro, can match the best teams until late games of 40+ min games, so there is definitely a world where they beat BLG. COME ON G2! MAKE IT HAPPEN! WE BELIEVE IN YOU! JUST GIVE US A GREAT FIGHT INTO QUARTERS!
@@robenriven Yeah right they are so good at beating Wild card teams and not winning a single match against any Eastern team... TL will probably win tomorrow though (if they don't INT), TL is overall better than FLY and has higher potential.

whoever makes these rules should be fired. region protection should be very much viable and available. the entire purpose of Worlds and MSI is Region Rivalry. When it comes to an absolute no other choice of why a region should play itself then ok because there is no other option. But this guaranteed region progression by playing itself... its absolute troll. Whoever is responsible for these rules needs to seriously redo calculations.
Worlds is not region rivalry, that’s just what fans make it out to be. It’s to see who the best is. Lose now or lose later, it doesn’t really matter. The only thing that matters is who’s holding the trophy at the end
@@ml-jt6eg I'm sorry but if I’m going to support worlds to play like this... then I’m gone. I know many people feel this way. If I want my region to play against each other when clearly rules can prevent this from happening. I'd rather watch season splits then. That’s what they exists for. MSi is fine. Not for Worlds. unless there are absolutely no other options for elimination/advancements... Same region should NOT play upon each other to advance where clearly it's not even needed at that point. Semifinals are the absolute straw, not quarterfinals. Either way as you said regardless. The best will play against the best. Hence Region Rivalry.
Why do they keep saying that APA is good on Neeko? From what I can see he played Neeko once in 2024 prior to Worlds and it was a loss... and he hasn't looked good on it in Worlds either.. he just keeps pushing forward, getting blossom on one, and inting...
This was the fight we wanted to see. But would love to have both EU and NA aiming to be more competitive against LPL and LCK. Rather than toxic fans arguing against each other. Would've been nice.
riot had to fix it for you just so tl wouldn't draw another lpl/lck team lmao, any other variation and no na team would make top 8.only fly vs tl allows fly to pass
This draw is ridiculous, NA fans shouldn’t be proud of the team going to quarterfinals in such a dishonorable way. There is definitely human intervention going on here. Although I‘m not EU fan, but I have to say EU > NA. At least G2 beated lpl team, while NA got their victories from non lpl lck teams. I’m glad that LCS is removed in the following year though. Good riddance.
Dishonorable?? Cheating?? EU fans complaining about the NAs beating wildcard teams....WBG last year did the same thing they ONLY beat NA and EU teams and somehow beat BLG then got 3-0 by T1 in finals last year. KT had the worst draw last year with DK both times one being the decider match i think they played BLG or LNG in a Bo1 and then their last series was JDG at quarters. EU fans want G2 to be the best in the west but seems to want to complain when they get these strong Eastern Teams draws. What was the excuse last year fot G2? STOP being a 1 region team you had 2 other teams and they couldn't even beat said wildcard regions that both Fly and Tl beat but keep clingy on to G2 I suggest you tell FNC and MDK to do better.
Yeah, NA fans aren't proud that they have to send 1 of their own NA representative home. They were suppose to have 2 slots to possibly get out of swiss but this draw limited it to 1. Don't act like there are easy or hard paths in Worlds, it always happens to all teams in all of the years-they gotta be able to beat any team they face, or else that just means they weren't strong enough.
Who cares. Neither NA or EU will be holding the trophy at the end so get over it. LCS is just getting a name change and 1 LLA team (like that’s going to change anything).
Last year worlds we had 3 LCK team qualifying for worlds with KT VS DK to guarantee LCK have 3 teams at the decider 2-2 series now now we still have 3 LCK teams qualified... oh wait its rigged now because it's NA vs NA so LCS is guaranteed quarters while EU is a 1 team region. Maybe stop sending FNC and MDK that can't beat said wildcard regions and you wouldn't have these results. But it's ok maybe G2 will beat BLG
Of course, Classic. Isn't it rigged enough that LCK and LPL has 4 representatives on both of their regions while NA and EU only has 3, with 2 as secured and 1 needing to go through play-ins? Probability wise, about 80% win chance of eastern countries against 20% win chance for western. Also-what happened again to last year's DK vs. KT?
I found him funny actually. I was more surprised he has the guts to trashtalk Levi after that abysmal performance in Game 1. I guess being in a foreign team gave him more confidence because I don't recall him being this vocal in LCK.

Not flaming but it seems any advantage you give to red side can be very easily abused by a good team
@@killeryodellingmonkey4192
To be honest, if you want to balance it as much as possible, you need to identify what the blue side advantages are and eliminate them as much as possible.
@@Benji877
That's a part of the problem now.
No NA vs EU ? the whole play ins and swiss ? and possibly the entire worlds ?
very sus guys
riot is na-based,so they want at least 1 local team at worlds.that's why g2 had to play against all the strong teams (lck and lpl first seeds, world champions and world finalists) while tl only got minor regions after getting stomped
@@aaabbb-zc7sxthat’s not how that works. If they wanted to do that they could’ve done that for so many of the worlds.
@@aaabbb-zc7sx you're capping so hard dude. stop 😂
@@aaabbb-zc7sx Glad to see other people are commenting the extremely obvious and logical counterpoint to your tinfoil hat garbage.
G2 vs lck and lpl #1 and 1st and 2nd place from last years worlds??? Thank god theyre fixing swiss stage next year💀💀💀
Yah G2 was vs all Top Tier Teams except for there first match.
I mean to be fair if they are going for the championship. At some point you have to win these no1. Avoiding them won’t solve the problem.
@@canadat4380and they have proved that they're not on that level
G2 is having the same treatment PNG got when they advanced to groups 😂
When you play scare you lose.
Who would've thought the BM player won
NA Teams Should only be invited for Scrims and Play-ins, its totally a downgrade to see them play in quarterfinals after watching LPL/LCK
this is unfair, why na vs na?
I wish they had enforced the region protection through the rest of Swiss. Feels pretty bad to knock out your own region...
NA getting the easiest POSSIBLE Draws.
G2 got pain and two other 4th seed regions. Fly got 1st seed Korea.
@HigherKaiju EU wins, omg hardest games ever!
NA wins, omg easiest games ever!
Sayonara DK you had your chance but your messed up, so now get rekt
G2 is officially the unluckiest team.

KT LAST YEAR holds that since summer playoffs 2023

If they were as good as you think they are they wouldn't be in this position in the first place
@@80AM.Nah, I reckon G2 are a similar level to a 3rd or 4th seed LPL or LCK team, so 2-2 is exactly where I'd expect them to be. Having to beat the LPL #1 seed to qualify - easily the hardest team left in 2-2 - is still harsh though, especially having already beaten the other LPL team left in the 2-2 bracket.

congrats to tl for barely making it to 2-2 after losing to every major region they played against, and my condolences to g2 for their game against blg tomorrow.looks like fly will be the only western team at worlds(and the first to fly home)
salty much
So what should be changed about the swiss stage?😂
Get rid of BO1 format. Get rid of region protection.
FNC are a joke. A bunch of kids unable to make a decision. The amount of time they just stood waiting in the jungle is ridiculous. Let a different team go to worlds next time, you're wasting everybody's time.
If those other teams can’t even beat FNC then what’s the point of sending them? Just more waste of time
As an NA fan I can honestly say I'm glad we can get outta groups
As a League fan I can honestly say I'm sad that instead of getting an epic 5 match banger between 2 competitive teams, a slot is gonna be wasted on a 3-0 stomp.
If you say so.... G2 was supposed to be a 3-0 stomp too a couple years back but ended up making a run. 99.999% chance NA loses but even so that 0.001% chance is kinda exciting to think about

Come on RIOT, FLY vs G2 it would be such an hype match up for the audience .
TL seems like such a fun team with a fun coach.
No one is happy about this draw
Honestly that’s what NA gets for losing to a team they shouldn’t have lost to in the first place. Days before picks I absolutely called that NA would have to send NA home.
Literally the worst draft for both na and eu
even that one na team is in quarters everyone will call it undeserved
So just compare G2s way to 2-2 with TL or even BLG and I think everyone after this will see an issue. BUT this is the "beauty" of swiss stage that unexpected teams get through.
However:
G2 on paper is the best performing team of the 2-2 teams.
Flyquest is better than G2 right now
Good macro is just down 10k gold in the first half of every game 😭

I don't think you've been actually watching worlds and ur going on there games vs eu teams because G2 is playing much better then they played in Lec
whoever makes these rules should be fired. region protection should be very much viable and available. the entire purpose of Worlds and MSI is Region Rivalry.
@@ml-jt6eg Well its if you lose later in worlds you get alot more prize money. So you can get/ keep expensive players
Oh my god NA vs NA??? G2 vs China #1 Seed???? Worst draw ever

scripted draws
EU WOULD BE PROUD AHAHAHAHA
Yeah, NA fans aren't proud that they have to send 1 of their own NA representative home. They were suppose to have 2 slots to possibly get out of swiss but this draw limited it to 1.
Don't act like there are easy or hard paths in Worlds, it always happens to all teams in all of the years-they gotta be able to beat any team they face, or else that just means they weren't strong enough.
Who cares. Neither NA or EU will be holding the trophy at the end so get over it. LCS is just getting a name change and 1 LLA team (like that’s going to change anything).
Wtf?
The fact lcs guaranteed unto quarters instead of lck is kinda rigged no?
KT?
God, umti is so cringe and insufferable
I found him funny actually. I was more surprised he has the guts to trashtalk Levi after that abysmal performance in Game 1. I guess being in a foreign team gave him more confidence because I don't recall him being this vocal in LCK.
