She had never had a walk, didn’t know what stairs were, had been shown no love and was desperate for love. Anyway, she’s been with me for six years now, has three walks a day, gets caressed for at least an hour a day, (her insistence by the way,) and follows me about all the time I am in the house. She is a very happy doggie now. Bless her.

    There is nothing as rewarding as homing a rescue dog. They pay you back tenfold and it is as if they have an extra dimension of understanding. We brought home an old dying sheltie that had been so neglected his teeth were green and had to be removed. The vet said he had been in pain for years. And his matted coat, when removed, was heavier than he was. The rescue where we were volunteers, would not take any money for him they were so convinced he only had about ten days to live. Well, we got that old dog better and happy, and he lived for us for almost four years. Still the best dog I have ever had, and I still miss my Jack every day. Please rescue - we can only heal the world one dog at a time. And rescueing an older dog is something special.

      I’m a rescue mom and have been all my adult life. There is nothing better than a rescue! The dogs that I’ve been fortunate enough to adopt have all been true angels. You think you’re helping them and you are but what they give you can’t be matched. I believe that if everyone did their part to help whether it’s adopting, fostering, donating your time or money, or simply sharing stories on social media of animals in need that the world would be a much better place and the number of animals needing help would decrease substantially. Me and my rescue girls Matilda and Zuri send love and good vibes to everyone that does their part to help suffering animals 🐾💕🐾

    This shows how complex animal's emotions are and that they deserve to be treated with love and respect! These ppl are awesome to take their time to care for this almost euthanized pooch! I did the same thing with a retired police K9 shepherd, named CODY. He turned out to be my bestfriend for SIX YEARS, went to work with me, ate, slept in my bed, we were apart for only 2 days in 6 years until he passes at 14 years old. I miss him every day!

      @Kalda Forn Firstly, way to hijack a completely irrelevant comment just for better visibility... and what on earth makes you think this woman would rather adopt a dog than have children? She refers to "us"/"we"/"our" relationship w/ the dog and we literally see (presumably) her boyfriend/husband @ 2:10. Why do you assume she isn't going to have children or would "rather" adopt a dog?
      That's a _really_ weird takeaway to have from this video... _Who's_ being "replaced" and because of it _how...?_ Lots of women adopt dogs AND still have actual children and there's no shortage of new people just because dogs are being rescued.
      --Your sentiment is _almost exactly_ like when someone responds to something about homosexuality by _blaming_ it and scoffing at their selfishness/lamenting that anything other than "productive" hetero sex lowers the birthrate as if overpopulation and poverty leading to unwanted/neglected/exploited/abused children is less of a problem than _"ANY_ woman _...[choosing to] adopt dogs rather than having actual children..."_

    • @llYossarian
      @llYossarian 2 года назад +3

      @Kalda Forn _What_ is it about adopting a dog that kills the genetic line of the woman and/or her child? What's a "selfish waste" when she has an _actual child_ and a rescue dog? Seems win/win.

      Exactly. Her behavior was *not* that of a dog who had been treated with love.
      Now, my shih-tzu mix drops her back legs and tail if anyone reaches down to pet her - even me. I got her at 8 weeks old and thus know she has *NEVER* been struck or abused - she's just a bit skittish. But she acts normal and confident in every other way.
      Gorgeous Clementine, though, showed several signs of abuse. Lack of eye contact, shaking, silently staring at the wall, hesitant to come when called, etc. Her being underweight, while an issue that needed fixed, was both the least of her problems and the easiest to fix.
