Dogs are lifelong commitments. Shame on the family who couldn’t be bothered because they were building a new house. He’s better off with his new family.
AMEN ! ❤
A beautiful match by the shelter! It’s like they were waiting for each other!
Apparently they kept their other dog?
Agreed...how could their dog not be included?
People need to think about adopting pets. Pets have feelings and they can be hurt. Just like people .
One family gets rid of him because they're building a new home.
The next joke about buying a new car for him.
I'm so happy for Rocky.
As the mother of a neurodivergent teen who was diagnosed with depression age 13, I can say that getting a dog was the best decision I ever made.
My 16 yr old brother has depression, and we got a dog when he was 14, it's honestly helped him so so much! She's there at his most down moments, when we can't help him, and she seems to!
Previous owners couldn't care for him as they were building their home.If it was my house ,it would seem too empty without that giant goofy boy.
I know! Must be more to that story. I would get it if he was a puppy they just hadn't foreseen how difficult having a big newfy puppy is with building a new house, but hes 7??!! Surely he would be part of the family by then .so sad
It seems like they did the best they could in the situation they were in. The felt they were neglecting the care and love the dogs need due to a busy lifestyle likely back and forth and therefore made sure he was somewhere he would get everything he needs and find an amazing family.
I think a big ol dog is better off with kids to bond and grow with 🤔
@@PuffKitty Hello!
I'm a 34 year old kid 😁😄
Some folks are callous.
I would have lived in a cardboard box rather than get rid of my dog…. My newfy lived till she was 11 and she took my heart when she passed …. Fly high baby girl …..
DO NOT GET A DOG IF YOU ARE NOT COMMITTED. COMPLETELY. SO happy for this chap. And his new family.
“We’re gonna have to buy a bigger car” is what got me, haven’t even met him already knowing he’s gonna be theirs! I loved this episode, this entire show in general, but it makes me so sad that so many dogs need to be re-homed to begin with because of what’s happened to them.
I think the dad could see that Rocky was ready to eat and made sure his son Dan was the one to give the food - good parenting!
I have 2 newfoundlands and knowing how sensitive the breed is, it puts me to tears to see one in a shelter and sad and lonely.
they do suffer from depression
Awww...that does sound heartbreaking. The breed is legendary for their giant hearts ❤
I wish they didn’t cost 4000$ :(
@@sportyprincessxo I think shows like this show the importance of adopting and not buying a dog from a breeder
@@annemorgenstern6070 there's a place for responsible breeders and there's a place for adoption.
What a lovely family. Those boys are adorable. It looks like Rocky finally found people who will love him for life. Yes, I’m crying.
Newfies are the sweetest, gentlest giants ever. They are beautiful souls.
For sure !
I would never choose a new home over my dog.
Seven years old! Getting dumped is terrible! Big dogs aren,t around long to us but to them we are their whole life!
Rocky will be the most loyal and loving family member.
Kudos to the shelter for actually trying to help match dogs to family interests!! Good luck to Rocky & the fam!! ❤
I love how the wife just smiles & says we're going to need to buy a bigger car, yet they haven't met him yet.... That family got exactly what they wanted..... A Complete Family ❣️
The older brother is a keeper too.
He’s absolutely gorgeous!!!
As for the drooling we just simply carry a tea towel around! No problem! One LUCKY family!!! ❤
❤
I'm always glad when they show families adopting a bigger dog. Sometimes shelters really struggle to find a place for bigger dogs, especially breeds with a bad reputation, even if that dog is suitable for a family.
How good is when animal goes into good hands and how sad is when people are not responsible to decide for an animal they will care for for life
Exactly. I will not leave this earth until my three dogs have reached the ends of their natural lives. It's doing right by them and showing them the same love and loyalty they have shown me.
@@twistoffate4791 ❤️
Nothing would make me abandon mine.
One I’ve had from a puppy and the other is an ex-racing greyhound who was abused and used, then discarded at the shelter when she was no longer of “use.”
I adore them both and feel guilty if I leave them for a few hours!!
If a caretaker dies ( not being old) or is no longer able due to medical reasons and family just cant take an animal it is not that easy.
Newfies are the biggest sweetest kindest teddy bear dogs
How can anyone hurt these beautiful kind dogs or any animal? Just sickening.
That is so sweet that what brought Rocky out of his shell was Dan.
The previous owners are a piece of work. Their pet interfered with their new house!!! Not that the dog isn't better off because he certainly is, but giving up a pet is like giving up a child. I know that is how I have always felt about all my pets. I would no more give up a either one . Some people are just SO selfish. His new family knows the score tho. They are so generous and loving.......well done, Rocky!
That dog smiled at the smallest boy. This will be a great fit.
Rocky is a gentle giant, sweet and affectionate. He deserves a good family with plenty of love and hugs
Just beautiful for all !
I love it! When you give him a fuss, there's room for everyone to do it at the same time.
Oh wow, getting a family dog that has a life expectancy of another 1-3 years is really brave
The fact that the family takes him to the beach is perfect - newfie heaven! ❤
Couldn't have been a better match for both family and Rocky
I rescued Sammy at age 2 years. He was part Neuffie, chow and border collie. 85 lbs. Never been in a house or trained. I drop dead fell in love. He was my best friend for 11 years and still missed.
A dog is family. Glad he found a new one to love him.
I love to see the kids faces, such joy when they get to see the dogs ❤🐾🐾
Awwww so glad when a dog finds a great family and comes back to life essentially 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Brought a tear to my eye, when they finally bonded 😘
Same!
My family used to have a Newfoundland, lab, Irish wolfhound cross dog and he was the most gumpy cuddly gentle giant. He made it to 15 years old. He was nearly 6ft when on his hind legs. Miss him loads xx
Wow. That was a big dog Rebecca. Great mix of breeds to have in a dog. All the gentle and intelligent genes.
Fifteen is a great age for a giant dog. Glad you got to enjoy him for that amount of time ❤
When he ate I almost cried.
Newfoundlands do great with kids! They are just really big sweethearts! ❤ my local ski patrol at my home mountain uses newfoundlands and burnese mountain dogs. They love giving attention to not only the patients to help calm them down, but after the ski school lets out they love to play with the kids. The dogs actually bring them tennis balls and frisbees for them to throw so they can fetch them for fun.
How can you have your home without your dog it'd part of the family
My dog comes before even my kids ❤
What terrible people!! They couldn't juggle his care while there building their new house. AWFUL PEOPLE!! I HOPE THEY CHOKE ON THEIR SAWDUST. I'm so happy that Rocky found a new and much better family
My knee-jerk reaction was to yell "Screw them!"
Rocky you stole the families heart , ❤️ you are very sweet n special,Godbless
He looks so much like my beloved Kirby, Newfie/Golden retriever mix, the most mellow, LOVING fella ever. LOVED swimming in river or lake or splashing in our kiddie pool but happy to let his sister Golden retriever run and chase balls. Loved lying outside in blizzards buried in snow (only time he was probably not hot) and had to make him come in but liked being an indoor lapdog. He wasn't drooly but his hair blew a couple times a year-- flying fuzzballs despite combing. LOL I miss you Kirb. ❤️
The second the mum said " we're going to have t get a bigger car" you just knew Rocky was on the home run!
What a beautiful boy. What a perfectly precious family for Rocky to be loved by.
I’m rather glad that the former owner gave him up. (I would never do this but some people don’t really care) Rocky really scored with his new home.
Please remember that a dog is not a simple dog but a family member just the same as a child is. They depend on us for so much but on the other hand we depend on them for so much more. They comfort us, they help us and ultimately they will give their life's for us. Would you give your life for your ultimate companion. I would as they would for me.
I just could not fathom having to give up my dog. I appreciate there’s certain circumstances but interfering with building a new home would not be one of them. Shame on his previous owners - so glad he found his forever home in the end xxx
Newfoundlands require large amounts of interaction, more than most breeds. I have a 1 year old Newf and he's happiest when he's around groups of people or other dogs. He's rather sluggish when it's just him and me alone in the house, but he perks up when I take him to visit other people or to the dog park to play with other dogs.
My Landseer was brought up in a bonded pack and really likes other dogs, which is why I'm looking for a sibling.
@@HotVoodooWitch My Newf is also a Landseer. I'd love to get Ichinojo a little sibling but one 175 lb dog is eating into my budget enough as it is!
@@janellek21 mine's only 129 (female).
We have rescued one Newf cross (golden) and one pure Newf. The most loyal and loving dogs. They don't call them velcro dogs for nothing. Charlie our Newf cross passed away a couple of years ago, but Molly our brown Newf, gives us joy every day. As I write this, Molly is sleeping on top of my feet. lol
Newfoundlands are rescue dogs, water or mountains. Just like St Bernards and Great Pyrenees. They are also protective of their people.
I LOVE YOU ROCKY ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This brought a tear😢 what a beautiful dog and wonderful family, Rocky has definitely found his loving forever home, great story and happy ending. Mixed emotions for the excellent staff who have cared for Rocky and are obviously extremely fond of him but will be delighted to see him go to such a great family.
This made me cry, how beautiful he is
This is the most beautiful family.
Happy for rocky and the family to find the perfect match.
My absolute favorite episode of THE DOG HOUSE UK!
Amazing , so glad you gave him a forever home , he will enrich your life’s forever, he is family now ❤️🥰
He’s so beautiful and special.
I have three Newfoundlands. And they were all oresent while we had major rennovation work done to our house. They were all completely fine, and were actually very excited to see how the house looks now.
There is no excuse for a family to abandon them just because they had a new house being built. I am ashamed.
Oh my goodness what a sweet adorable fluffy boy 😍
What a magnificent dog, and what a terrific new family.
We have a newfoundland cross Romanian raven shepherd who is a literal bear and it's brilliant. He gives the best bear hugs ever and is so funny and affectionate. He's 7 stone and 5ft 8 on 2 legs and will hug you on two legs, putting his paws on your shoulders. He is excellent at guarding because of the Romanian shepherd in him, no carrier bag will ever try and kill you in the street with him around, but he also throws his toys at your head when he wants to play 😂 big dogs give bear hugs it's just a fact of life
What a nice facility...good family for rocky❤
Older dogs are great they are usually chill
“You cannot share your life with a dog or a cat and not know perfectly well that animals have personalities and minds and feelings”.

There are no coincidences... 🐾♥️🐾
Rocky is adorable 😊
Such a lovely family for a gorgeous dog. ❤️
I absolutely adore Newfoundlands
Match made in heaven. Cute doggy with a beautiful family
Beautiful family, beautiful doggo. Just what I needed to see today 🥰
I LOVE my newfy, drool is just part of the love
As a warning... Super biased over this breed❤❤❤ i love them, teddy bears is the correct definition, they are loyal, fierce protectors, playfull, sweet and always wanting to cuddle ❤❤❤❤they are beautiful in nature.
I would have built my house that it fit the dog I love that dog my mom is from Newfoundland I'm so happy that that family gave it a lot of love that it deserved❤❤❤❤❤
What a lovely family and what a wonderful Newfy x
Newfies are wonderful. I have a Newfie Grandpup.❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾
Still can't fathom how people can turn in their pet unless its for financial reasons. For us it would be getting rid of family & don't mean a in-law
What a beautiful dog. I love large dogs. We've always had large dogs.
Our family had a Newfie for 17 years. Lady was a great dog.
I love newfoundland dogs.❤
Rocky was already 7 at that time. Now he would be 8 which is normally the longest a newfie would live. i wonder how they are all doing now...
Hopefully happy and healthy as being crossed bred should help.
Tears. Just tears, a happy smile on my face and a warm heart! :)
I'd put up with the drooling for this dog
😭😭 so beautiful. Lucky family and best dog ever!
God bless you we need more people like you in this world. Love it beautiful
I haven't seen this show before, but what I like about this episode is that these people don't seem to be total nitwits when it comes to dogs. They are probably well instructed not to jump on the dog all together and that is good, but I feel like they also know what to do themselves. They remain calm at all times to not scare the dog.
Maybe it's also because they're not American.
Be happy now boy xx❤️
NOTHING LIKE A NEWFIE......HAPPY ENDING! THX FOR SHARING.....
"he's amazing" ALL dogs are amazing,I wish I had the space and the money to adopt thousands of dogs and give them a second chance, sending blessings from England
RUclips has been recommending some negative stuff lately so this was a win
Great video
Win win for all!🥰🥰🏴
Oh, I love him! I have a Great Pyrenees who would be so perfect for him.
Such great dogs
beautiful family and beautiful dog - happy days!
I have neighbours who help rescue Newfies, they are beautiful gentle giants, and often come out to play with neighbourhood children or with my dog, a chocolate Lab
Thank you kind people
Thank you! Couldn’t keep it dry ❤🌹✨
Big Dogs Rule.
Poor poor Rocky!!
Slobber = love.
Such a lovely family! Lucky family, lucky Rocky! 💖🐾
When they made mention that one of the boys was learning to be a lifeguard and that Newfoundlands like to swim, I thought, (was hoping), that they were going to show both of them in the water. Oh well.
