- This is all the biblical quotes quoted by Anderson (from the anime Hellsing Ultimate). The first is from 1 Corinthians 16:22, second from Psalm 150:6, third is a compilation of Genesis 3:19, and the last is from Psalm 2:8-12.
I love the slow realization on Maxwell's face as Anderson is quoting the verse. It's like "That verse sounds famil- OH SHIT!"
I don't get it, can you explain why Maxwell panics ?
@@mr.p215 I don't know the exact verse but, I believe that it's from the old testament where if you weren't a faithful servant of the lord you'd be called a heathen and just be killed on the spot.
@@SideShowBatt happens in The New Testament as well. Everyone forgets about the magician who tried to buy THE HOLY SPIRIT and the husband who lied to THE HOLY SPIRIT twice by keeping a portion of donated land for himself while saying he gave it all. The Apostles gave him a chance to admit and repent before them, might have even let him keep the land, but he stuck to his lie. I'm sure a few current believers have seen this play out as well, but not sure this current crop is Spiritually strong or astute enough to fully believe and understand. Unbelief be strong some days, even for those of us who have seen a layer of the veil torn back and witnessed HIS Awesomeness first hand.
@@mr.p215 he's quoting both Revelation 2:27 and Psalm 2:9. Anderson has blasphemously declared that he will be enacting with all authority over the whole of creation, the coming wrath of GOD. The passages appear to refer to THE CHRIST'S coming rule and the necessary wrath that will be poured out upon all the rulers and nations of the earth as to break them down and burn them in cleansing rightous flame until only refined dust and gold remains.
@@modakkagitplugga Isn't it interesting that the most faithful character in the show is also the one causing the most blasphemy? But, I think that's intentional on Anderson's part because he and his Iscariot assassins reject salvation so that they can go to Hell and bring war against Lucifer in Hell. I can't recall what their pledge was, but the pledge was something along the lines of "casting 30 pieces of silver as I hang myself" or something like that.

He isn't meant to always sound like a deranged individual but an Overzealous Believer.
He is suppose to be seen as someone who is frightfully calm while dishing out righteous justice, am enjoyer of the pain of pagans as well.
Even the Artist and Writer hated the Japanese VA's take on it, saying they always go Over the top cause of people lile you saying the Sub's performances are better.

There is one, look up 'Angels Dust' by Kouta Hirano, same guy who wrote Hellsing. The main character is named Anderson, wears the same glasses, and just looks like a young Anderson.

@@sirgrantelton1081 Well actually this is what the gospel of Matthew says,but in the Acts it says that Judas fell down and his body burst revealing his guts without even mentioning the hanging.But the rest of the gospels do not even talk about the fate of Judas.
The reason that their section is named after Judas is that they do evil for the sake of good, like how Judas's betrayal had an ultimately good result.

Judas was furious when the costly perfume was used to anoint JESUS' HOLY FEET, how many other times do you think he was silent outwardly, but screaming inwardly because JESUS gave a hard saying that turned away many or convinced the rich man that he didn't have internally what it takes to truly obey GOD. Simon-Peter sought forgiveness from JESUS for his denial, Judas tried to appease his guilt and debt on his own and was subject to a curse by his final actions in accordance with Scripture (Deuteronomy 21:23). Still though, to think that truly there are people in Heaven whom Judas converted. Each one will be a testament to THE GOSPEL on The Day of The Resurrection if not in all the time leading up to the event.

I don't get why Maxwell panicked at Anderson quoting the verse, can someone explain?
Maxwell wanted Anderson there as an intimidation tactic to mirror Alucard's presence. "Turnabout is fair play," as he said. When he recognized the verse, however, he realized that Anderson wasn't simply going to stand behind him and wait. He immediately panicked knowing that Anderson and Alucard starting a fight there would cause a plethora of problems not least of which being that he was too close to be safe.
To put in simple terms, the verse, from the catholic bible obviously, basically says that if you don't believe in Jesus Christ you can be called a heathen and killed on spot. So Maxwell realized Anderson wants a battle right in the middle of the museum and he isn't just gonna stay by his side.
