Vince is a genius and I was sad when he left Depeche but he created the wonderful Yazoo and then the equally as great Erasure. Like I said, man's a genius.
the greatest synth album ever. I have played this album SO MANY TIMES I have forgotten. I also got into synth playing on my own due to the 80's Yazoo, Howard Jones, Depeche, OMD, Human League etc. Vince Clarke was a GOD. -THE 80'S WERE THE BEST EVER! NOTHING else comes close.
Upstairs At Eric's is one the greatest and most underrated albums ever made. It was decades ahead of its time, and though wildly sampled, Yaz's unique combination of synth and blues has never, ever been duplicated. (End Patrick Bateman-esque rant...)
@@BillAnt Good points, although those "relatively primitive keyboards/machines" were primarily the ARP 2600 and Sequential Circuits Pro-One early on for Yazoo, and they are still highly sought after today. Vince still uses the very same instruments for Erasure, too.
@rbrtck < Of course they are still cool, what I meant in that context by "relatively" is compared to today's digital wizardry, how incredibly creative Viince had to be in order to conjure up such beautiful organic sounds without the aid of advanced samplers/sequencers etc., like a pilot by the seat of his pants. ;)
@@BillAnt Got it. I just wanted to make sure people were aware. These synths are indeed technologically primitive, no question, especially the simple, basic Pro-One (the 2600 is semi-modular and a lot more flexible), but few synths sound like these two. Such "warm" and "fat" analog sound, and those snappy envelopes on the Pro-One are among the reasons why Vince keeps reaching for it despite his extensive, museum-level arsenal of vintage analog synths (plus some modern analog, vintage and modern digital synths, and software synths thrown in for variety).
Leyendas del pop.... Vince un Genio con tan poco .. Alison un hermosa voz ... un dúo que ha dejado marcado una bella generación de los 80s ... Saludos del Chileno de ❤
Would love to seem Alison and Vince live. I missed out in 2008 so if they announced another reunion, I certainly wouldn’t miss it. A new album would be great too!
I went to school with Alison at Nicholas school Laindon. And I worked with her first husband malcome at ITT in basildon . Malcome was always on drugs whilst driving he's forklift . Nice bloke though. Alison also use to go to roots Hall southend to watch southend United. She was Always sitting on her own . .
Her voice is unmistakable. Her music is immortal.
Alison Moyet is just a quality musician/voice.
Vince is a genious and should never be overlooked as a pioneer and great song writer.

@@BillAnt Indeed! They were/are both very talented! It seems so...it doesn't seem "Only Dust"! 😂😂😂

Butiful Music ❤❤❤❤
The smile Vince cracks @3:04...yeah..he knows he has a hit with this song 💵💵💰💰😁
Ching-ching; he must be rolling in it having written these classics. There is no way he doesn’t own them lock stock and barrel
Fitting that the clip ends with the haunting drone of "Maid of Orleans" by OMD, the band that made Vince become an electronic musician.
Very good. Excelent. We come back all years
What a voice she has got 🎉

Its strange Vince split with Alison Moyet but found another singer who sounds exactly like her to form a new band Erasure ....
Perfekt vielen Dank

Alison. Goddess.
01:16 Alison: "it's like me lusting after a miniskirt... its never gonna happen". If she knew back then how she would look later :-D
Lofote i
She wanted to "penetrate" that "ambitious boy, not in the biblical sense" but maybe sexually? he-he jk
@@BillAnt 😂😂😂
@@BillAnt you clearly missed the meaning of biblically.
She had no romantic or lustful feelings for him, just a wish to understand him more.

What's up with all their teeth?
They're real. 'Murican horse veneers hadn't contaminated Britain yet.
That's what ACTUAL teeth look like. You can keep your fake veneers thanks very much.
