Here’s presenting to you “MALOMA - fusion like never before” ❤️🧿
Over the years, I’ve invested a lot of time in understanding the art of fusion, how it is an amalgamation of different cultures, how deep rooted knowledge of every form is required to seamlessly integrate different techniques and flavours.
I have loved every dance form I have learned till date. Started off with Bharatnatyam as a child, felt called to learn Hip Hop as a teenager, adapted to Jazzfunk, whacking, semi classical, Bengali folk in college, I have a newfound love for waving and popping now and all this while bellydance grew on me :”)
After multiple trials and errors, I have some how finally bern able to develop a language wherein I can express myself through MOVEMENT drawing references from the variety of dance forms I mentioned above into a beautiful, flowing tapestry.
And to anyone who looks down upon fusion artists - to create fusion as I have mentioned earlier, is an art. I have faced many backlashes over the years but nothing stopped me from creating what I felt called for. You know why? Because the most authentic thing ever in art is “intention”.
The intention is to “FLOW” :”)
