Thank you so much!😊🥰
Hi very nice recipe but I just have a quick question, so if you don’t have pepper flakes, can I use pepper powder? Would that work? 🤷🏼♂️
I think they (gochugaru) are similar. You should be able to use it. Thank you!
Thank you so much .. I will surely use this recipe 😊👍
Pwede po pala alamang? Wow ma try nga po nagiiskip akp nung labanos ksi pumapait sya panget labanos dto sa pinas. Mas ok dw pag ung korean radish or japanese. Try ko po yung alamamg next time
Can we make it without fish sause?
Yes you can! This is the video link of the kimchi that I made without fish sauce. You can check it out at the link below. Thank you! @
Thank you for sharing... I'm not too sure on the Asian pear if it's available in Zambia can I use any type of pear?
If it is difficult to find the Asian pear or Korean pear, you can use an apple instead. Hope this works. Thank you for the question!
@@chungskfood thank you so much for the quick response.
@@temseyyumbangosa7741 Thank you!😊👍
I dont have access to that type of radish 😢 is there anything else i can use instead?
If you are storing kimchi for a long time, it's good to add radish which contains probiotic-rich amino acids that enhance taste. If you can't access Korean radish, you can use Japanese radish (daikon) instead. If it's hard to find Japanese radish, just skip it. Thank you for the good question!
This recipe is good for how many kilos of Napa cabbage? How many cups of fish sauce for 8kilos? Thank you in advance.
I used 3.5 kilo napa cabbage. Adding about one cup of fish sauce for 8 kilo napa cabbage should be fine. Thank you for the good question!😊🤗
Ginawa ko naman tan lahat. Bakit ganun mapait😅
what is the serving size for this recipe? is it used for only one cabbage?
Yes! This is the seasoning amount based on one head of cabbage weighing about 3 kilograms. It's hard to determine the quantity of kimchi based on how many people will eat it, as it is a fermented food and can be stored in the refrigerator for a long time. If you eat a lot of kimchi, you might finish it within a week, and if several people are eating, it could be finished in just a few days. Thank you!
@@chungskfood thank you for the feedback! 😊

rice flour right ??
I used all purpose flour. You can also use rice flour.😊
Just a question, if I don't have gochugaru, can I use chilli powder instead? Or will it affect the taste?
Thank you for the good question! Gochugaru is translated as red pepper flakes. Red pepper flakes are coarser, hotter, and simpler in flavor, while chili powder is finer, may be milder, and often has a more complex flavor due to additional spices. If you want to make Korean kimchi, I recommend you use gochugaru. 😊🌸
@chungskfood8931 ah, I see. So, how do I substitute gochugaru? I've tried finding it at the supermarket, but there isn't any. The only thing available was chilli powder. Should I use regular chilli flakes instead?
@@atamaihito9875 You can use chili flakes, and the spiciness can vary, so choose the level of spiciness according to your taste preferences. Enjoy making it tasty. Happy cooking😊🙏
@@chungskfood TYSM🫶🫶 I actually bought a whole cabbage recently and then found out I didn't have gochugaru. I went to the supermarket and couldn't find it as well. Really, thank you ❤️❤️
Is it ok to use paprika ?
When seasoning kimchi, it might be okay to use a little ground paprika along with red pepper flakes. However, using only paprika for the kimchi seasoning may not yield the authentic taste and spiciness typical of kimchi. I hope this answer is helpful to you!
What flour do we need?
I used all purpose flour. Koreans also used sweet rice flour. Thank you for the good question! :)
@@chungskfood thank you so much!! I was making it while you replied, I used sweet rice flour and when I tasted it before keeping it for fermenting, it was awesome!!! Thank you for this great recipe! Just subscribed friend! ❤️❤️
@@Itz_Adrija Thank you so much! Happy cooking!😊🌸
Do we need radish
If you're planning to leave it for a long time, I recommend adding radish. Radish contains essential amino acids of probiotics, so adding radish will increase the probiotics that determine the taste of kimchi, making the kimchi taste better. If you don't have it, you can skip this step. Thank you!:)
Thanks soo much love the recipe ❤️

No gochujang?😮
That's right! Koreans use red pepper flakes when making kimchi~~
But don't they add goxhujang too
Is fish sauce necessary because I am vegetarian 😢
