    • @chungskfood
      @chungskfood  10 месяцев назад +1

      If you are storing kimchi for a long time, it's good to add radish which contains probiotic-rich amino acids that enhance taste. If you can't access Korean radish, you can use Japanese radish (daikon) instead. If it's hard to find Japanese radish, just skip it. Thank you for the good question!

    This recipe is good for how many kilos of Napa cabbage? How many cups of fish sauce for 8kilos? Thank you in advance.

    • @chungskfood
      @chungskfood  7 месяцев назад +1

      I used 3.5 kilo napa cabbage. Adding about one cup of fish sauce for 8 kilo napa cabbage should be fine. Thank you for the good question!😊🤗

    what is the serving size for this recipe? is it used for only one cabbage?

    • @chungskfood
      @chungskfood  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes! This is the seasoning amount based on one head of cabbage weighing about 3 kilograms. It's hard to determine the quantity of kimchi based on how many people will eat it, as it is a fermented food and can be stored in the refrigerator for a long time. If you eat a lot of kimchi, you might finish it within a week, and if several people are eating, it could be finished in just a few days. Thank you!

    Just a question, if I don't have gochugaru, can I use chilli powder instead? Or will it affect the taste?

    • @chungskfood
      @chungskfood  7 месяцев назад

      Thank you for the good question! Gochugaru is translated as red pepper flakes. Red pepper flakes are coarser, hotter, and simpler in flavor, while chili powder is finer, may be milder, and often has a more complex flavor due to additional spices. If you want to make Korean kimchi, I recommend you use gochugaru. 😊🌸

    • @atamaihito9875
      @atamaihito9875 7 месяцев назад +1

      @chungskfood8931 ah, I see. So, how do I substitute gochugaru? I've tried finding it at the supermarket, but there isn't any. The only thing available was chilli powder. Should I use regular chilli flakes instead?

    • @chungskfood
      @chungskfood  7 месяцев назад

      @@atamaihito9875 You can use chili flakes, and the spiciness can vary, so choose the level of spiciness according to your taste preferences. Enjoy making it tasty. Happy cooking😊🙏

    Is it ok to use paprika ?

    • @chungskfood
      @chungskfood  6 месяцев назад

      When seasoning kimchi, it might be okay to use a little ground paprika along with red pepper flakes. However, using only paprika for the kimchi seasoning may not yield the authentic taste and spiciness typical of kimchi. I hope this answer is helpful to you!

    Do we need radish

    • @chungskfood
      @chungskfood  11 месяцев назад

      If you're planning to leave it for a long time, I recommend adding radish. Radish contains essential amino acids of probiotics, so adding radish will increase the probiotics that determine the taste of kimchi, making the kimchi taste better. If you don't have it, you can skip this step. Thank you!:)
